Short and sweet cuz I'm very angry right now: was in CT, Alliance A had 4 melee dps. Wiped 3x on Atomos, we almost had it the 3rd time. Someone Vote Abandoned, I clicked no, the Vote went through and I was booted.

While I disagree that is has to go all together, the 50% vote needed is BS. Should be at least a 75% or so majority. Basically two people can go together into a dungeon with the intent of kicking everyone just before the last boss and there's nothing that can be done about it.
people wanted it, knowing people will abuse it.
This right here.
I was in an instance where the healer was kicked at the end boss. Wth. The other two said it was because he was terrible and wasted an hour of our time. I voted no because even if that were true we can still get tomes for it. Of course, right when he was kicked, everyone else left.
75% would be nice.
I think it's just tough luck, the majority will decide. But I've been in alliances where parties intelligently trade some members on the atamos fight to help out those struggling so maybe this could be suggested as an alternative to quitting.
The person who starts the vote isn't included in the count. You'd need three trolls for a light party or five for a full party.
I wonder why they still haven't figured out that members that queue together should not have the same weight as a person who queued alone...
Introducing an easy way to quit to a community that gives up easily and often at the slightest mistake or shortfall.
So let's be honest, who's surprised?
Another decent/good idea poorly implemented. All they had to do was make it require a supermajority but no~.
I don't get why people have a hard time with melee on Atomos. Tanks take turn grabbing adds. Tank drags the add to the SIDE of the platform, so that the dps is attacking the side. And as long as the tank does his/their job right, and the platform and people at Atomos isn't getting his by aoes, then you only need 1 healer. Guess what? Automatic Cleric Stance ranged dps.
As far as Vote Abandon, well, people will try to get around any system possible so that it can benefit them. Or some just want to ruin the fun of others. MMOs can't eliminate every single method a moron is going to use to cheat themselves through something or grief someone else. It may need to be tweaked some. Today had someone (it won't say who) constantly tried to vote abandon. We got through it despite all of the mess ups, and even got the fourth coffer at the end. Which, there was this one person that wouldn't Need on it until the very last second, hoping people would get impatient and leave. Again, people will use any system available for their own benefit (maybe people will get fed up and leave, increasing the troll's chances of the loot) or they did it to grief people (let the timer run out without even Need or Greed). We can't idiot proof a community.
You can swap members with with other alliances...
But you don't NEED to swap.
Honestly, they can make it work with the 50% option.
Just make it so ONLY the people that voted to abandon the duty will leave it. Everyone who voted no should stay in the instance. That way they can choose for themselves whether they want to wait for reinforcements (which are probably coming in CT) or bail (with no penalty since the group is full).
If half the party doesn't want to be there, then half the party should be allowed to leave. Its either this, or they remove the deserter debuff so they can leave and you can stay. I have a feeling you'd complain either way.
If you dont like people's behavior, and want to control it, then form a party finder group or a premade of friends/LSmates/FCmates. Then you have complete control and people will play the way you want, stay for as many wipes as you want, or however else you want to hold the party hostage.
It is abuse actually. I have seen this setup before in CT, and all you have to do is ask the alliance to trade a few ranged for a few melee. Cant tell me that the entire alliance was melee heavy, cause I have never seen that. Plus, in this case, the other 16 people are screwed as well, cause an entire group left.
Why cant they make it so if you click abandon you get booted if you don't you stay in the instance and wait for more party members... Wait that would be logical, cause some of us don't mind waiting 5 minutes rather than running something for 45 minutes all over again...
Wrong, it would take 3 people. The person who initiates it does not get to vote. So in a 4 man party it takes 3/4 or 75% (which is what you wanted) to end the run. In an 8 party it takes 5, 1 to initiate and four to vote yes. Full parties are 5/8, granted not quite 75%, but the majority either way.
From the patch notes for conformation to what I'm saying.
Near the bottom under "System" - http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...ba39b67875a7af
"The Vote Abandon function has been added, making it possible to abandon a duty without penalty if the following conditions are met:
Light Party
Two players (not including the initiating player) must vote Yes to disband and end the duty.
Full Party
4 players (not including the initiating player) must vote Yes to disband and end the duty.
1. While in a duty, open the Duty Finder interface under Duty on the main menu, then select Vote Abandon.
2. All party members will be presented with a window to vote. If the majority votes Yes within 30 seconds, the duty will be abandoned."
It seems you are not speaking of vote to abandon, so idk. Not familiar with how vote to kick works sorry.
yes , but the underlying issue is that there is no tools to stop trolls .
For example if I group with some people I cant friend them or blacklist them . There is almost no point even talking to people or trying to be friends with them in a DF because you never see them again .
This sounds like the exact situation Vote Abandon was created for. What exactly are you crying about?
Had you guys have been smarter, you could have swapped one or two of those melee throughout the whole alliance and got the clear. Who said you have to tackle atomos in only your groups?
They need to take it a step further and allow us to vote out other alliances.
Just had a ridiculous session of CT where Group C was trolling us on Atomos over and over by backing out of the fight as the rest of us went in to MPK us.
Reported all of them for harassment.
people are abusing this and its only been out one day :/.
been in some great titan ex df parties where we reached and killed heart, thats pretty decent if we kept on going im sure we'd get closer and closer to winning.
but of course after like 2 tries the whole party is kicked.
wasting my food seriously lol.
People need to stop saying "you guys wanted it and now you complain once its implemented".
Because those who wanted it isn't necessarily the same people as those complaining now.
And I agree that those who voted No should stay for replacements.
Agreed that those that don't want to abandon should stay.
Although to be fair, people have gone "please kick me" since Vote Kick has been around.
200 people in the forum wanted it. The other 200,000 playing not on the forums did not.
Yes it should be high than 50%
Vote abandon to force everyone out is so dumb. Making the game so lifeless, cant even allow players to discuss new strats. If they want to leave, let them leave! Dont force out the ones that want to stay, its my choice to stay.
signed up just to voice this. thumbs down
I would of voted yes in the OPs case as well, report them all you want you can't force them to play with you.
I have never been in a group that wipes 3 times on atomos since week 1 and as is evident by the vote most players don't want to go back to that.
I think 50% is a good number. If half of your group doesn't want to continue, it's unlikely going to work out.
For those who wants 75% to abandon - you know, that translates to the minority have more say than the majority. It means if 70% of you have had enough and wants to abandon without penalty, you CAN'T because of the minority, who are probably the sucky players in the first place.
Today I waited in CT queue for an hour and twenty minutes. Got into a party in progress that had just wiped on Bone Dragon once, they Vote Abandoned, and I was back in DF again within a matter of 2 mins. Vote Abandon sucks.
If half of the raid voted to abandon raid, that would be 12 players you'll need to wait to be filled... you honestly think waiting for 12 "in progress" players is a good idea? not to mention that the poor guy who joined the "in progress" raid is now left with no option but to wait for the other 11 slots to be slowly filled
Sounds terrible...
lol accusing people of abusing vote abandon.
If a party wipes multiple times and someone chooses to vote abandon and others agree to it. It's not abuse. That's the intended design.
Here's a grand idea- you vote to get rid of the DF Penalty, and not leave the instance unless you want to.
