Finally! It was our 3rd win. Now, if only I could somehow get my hands on the Direwolf Boots of Healing..

On a side note, after testing about 500 heals using each of Royal Boots and Allagan Shoes, I only noticed about 3 heal difference in using physick. I wonder if the Royal Boots is more worth it for the critical. Oh, and sorry about the earring, I'm usually using Hero's but for some reason forgot to switch it out this time, was having vanity fun with the entire allagan set..

But anyway I'm so happy! Scholar BiS achieved!

I suppose this should be what most people consider BiS (Not counting PvP gear)

i suppose accessories are just a matter of opinion but you could have more crit without garudas ring if thats what you're calling a scholars best stat?

You are close to BiS. But the SpellSpeed from Vortex is pointless to no end so you are wasting the stat and thus the Allagan Ring of Healing is much much better. The earring should also be replaced with the Hero's Earring of Healing for more Crit. Crit is better than Determination for us and you don't lose that much PEI.

Yeah, I mentioned that I usually wear the Hero's..Forgot to switch it off :P
And as for the boots, I really wonder.. if you read what I tried last night, it was pretty weird but maybe I just hit my high numbers on Royal Boots that day..

Also, I've never had any issues with MP, so I figured the Vortex Ring is better than Allagan. Why do you guys think otherwise? Just wondering though, not arguing, cause I find 0.01 GCD reduction sometimes helps me in mobile fights like Titan, or it's just my mind playing tricks on me. Also vortex ring is 11 deter, allagan is only 8.. I've got all the Allagan pieces except for Choker, so I could try a mix and match there, in fact I used to try a deter set with the tunic but after going to ifrit EX crit adloq is just so amazing.

And @sheepy I already have the Hero's on one slot, I had to choose between 11det/11 ss vs 8det/13 piety, I sort of prefer 11 det. Or maybe you meant using pentamelded Astral Ring?

I run the same setup left side, with slightly different accessories (Allag earring and ring, heroes choker, bracelet and ring). With that I'm at 497 crit, surely beyond 500 you're likely better off getting Det instead?

That's the thing, I'm thinking because of how high a crit adloq's value actually is, I'd forsake losing 10-15 heal amounts. But I believe the difference should be fairly negligible and sufficient for all contents at the moment though.. Just got converted to crit after seeing adloq nullifying suppurations..

Also, I don't really like allagan ring now that vortex is out. I just prefer vortex..

Oh, I also get the feeling if you actually parsed it and count crit as 3x heals, any % of crit after a certain point of MND would definitely come on top. Just a gut feeling.. but the very nature of randomness in crits makes it inconsistent for most people, I guess.

and for ring vortex is better, spell speed>piety and 3 more det, who ever say it otherwise dont play a healer.(yes, spell speed for sch isnt good but piety is worse, good sch dont rom)

Personally i dont like full crit builds, never did, so i use allagan neck for more determination and i'll probablly switch myth for allagan chest when i drop one =/

I've done some Mind-stat-testing myself, and my result is that 1 Point of Mind equals around 1.5 healpoints on Physick. Thus I'm considering of using the Int-Hero-Ring (my current ring is still the DL ring so i'd be losing 9mind and some piety). In other words, if my assumption is correct i'd lose 13.5 healpoints on physick and about 70 mana (or something like that), while gaining 13 (or was it 16?) crit.

Way to attack people for having an opinion. I main SCH by the way. There is only a 3 DET difference between Allagan and Vortex. Vortex is the only things with SS on it that she has and that .01 that she thinks helps (even though she is allowed to have that opinion) is probably just her imagination. SS not stacked is a useless stat in my opinion and in many others. More PIE means more max MP, more Natural MP recovery and even though we don't OOM this allows for more uses of Aldoquin (sp) and thus more chances at crit shields which is the SCH specialty.

By the way I wrote this before I noticed you switched to Allagan Boots. I prefer Royal.

Your setup is exactly what i have on my BiS wish list for scholar. I'm so far away though. congrats!

8 DET is approximately +2HP per Physick. 11 SpS is 0.01 second off both your cast time/GCD, as well as your pet's cast time/GCD. In other words, SpS is essentially twice as effective on SCH than it is on WHM.

I personally feel that Eos is also the reason that I can weigh Crit so heavily. She can crit as well, and her heals certainly aren't bad.

I basically use the above as baseline to value my gear. No Doubt SS is good but i would prefer Crit build over SS simply because i take my chances :P

As for the debate between MND/CRIT, I honestly think that just one extra crit on an adloq is more worth than 3-4 heal damage, which I observed from (not parsing, just healing myself a few hundred times) is gained from 3 MND on adloquium, and 6 heal damage for physick. My heal from the Royal Boots vs Allagan was about that much difference. Then it struck me, 1 crit adloq is essentially 3k healing or 4.5k on warriors fully buffed.. And it does save you out on tight situations as well. It allows you to do a lot of stuff during the window that the 2k/3k shield is up, an extra succor, a few extra stoneskins, some gamble on energy drains ( I do this even on Twintania, bad SCH bad!) to restore MP cause you don't wanna waste those lustrates...etc. Personally, I'd rather buff up my chances to crit than boosting my not-so-potent heals with 3-4 extra amount, but that's just me.

As for PIETY.. Never in any fights as a WHM or SCH I ever run out of MP if no one died over 3 times. 4 times is when it starts to get hairy, and even that is if I do all the resurrecting. I don't think it's a very good stat considering all the encounters that we currently have. Maybe in the future, but who knows =)

On a side note, I don't think I've achieved the TRUE AND ULTIMATE BiS cause direwolf ring of healing and boots seems so far...those two are 16 crit each. I haven't even done PVP 8D

MND is not as heavy weighted as you think it is.

After some testing i realized that 1MND = 1.6Healpts. on Physick which is pretty much nothing. On Adloq even less. Of course, it's up to you which stat you prefer.
Anyway congrats on your book.

I'm not sure if same on SCH, but on WHM I been stuffing Det and at my 353 value its like equal to half a mind. I'm at a ~1101 average cure and I'm still missing ifrit bracelet from a full det build.

As far as i know 4 DTR equals 1 MND. Yet this "information" is kinda old. Maybe I'm doing some research later on.^^

my point wasn't that a single point of MND drastically increases your output, it was that it does so more than does crit and det. i know exactly how heavily MND is weighted, which is to say less than weapon damage and more than crit/det.

I'd suggest that you don't bother with those at all. By the time you get done grinding that messy PvP, patch 2.2 will be out and all of its gear will beat the current stuff. Also remember, criticial hit rate caps at 550. Even if you pick allagan boots, you will have 513 crit and then you use HQ buttons food to bring it to 520+. I think that's good enough. Patch 2.2's gear will most likely have higher crit stats on them, so SCHs will finally cap out their crit and probably be left with plenty of options to use other gear as well.

Personally I have decided to go with allagan boots and inferno bracelets (for bragging rights, lol) for my final setup. 502 crit without food, which I'm perfectly happy with. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/2623691/

It's still 21 crit - Vit and I don't remember the last one. Sure you don't have piety / determination but morale instead but yeah.

still not convinced of full crit being the way to go on sch. it only directly effects 1 spell. succor is only indirect cause the shield isn't doubled on crit like it works with adloquium. going full det will result in almost the same average cures, having higher non-crit cures to work with, boosted fairy heals, less overhealing with physicks. and the crit chance difference is around 6,5%.

Oh? You got some insights on how to calculate your crit rate?
I'm going with valk dancing mad which results in ~ 20% total crit rate with a full crit build.

However, as long as SE keeps silent about it no one can be sure.

In my opinion the higher crit chance on Adloq + the higher fairy crit chance (resulting in enhanced pet actions) outweighs DTR & SpS far enough.
Of course, it's a "PoV-Thing"... again^^.

@Sygmaelle Yes, i agree with you that the PvP-Boots are probably BiS - at least in a full crit build - but I've been way to lazy to farm those^^

Edit: I'm going full crit and never had that much of overhealing with Physick Oo, not to mention that it doesnt matter, because SCH produce not enough aggro to make it necessary to avoid a bit of overhealing and Physick doesnt cost that much.

I don't even know how people come up with so much different results, just load up act and do some testings from the very basic value you got at lvl 50 to the max you can reach
