Should SE increase the number of cross-class slots for CLASSES?

I think if they did this, then Classes could be viable post-level 30 if played right. Right now it makes no sense that Jobs just overpower classes. Yes, I believe that Jobs should specialize in a task, but Classes should have the potential to be played at the higher level as well. The only thing that prevents them is that 5 cross-class skills isn't really enough. Maybe six or seven?

yes. as it sits now the jobs are lucky to have enough cross class abilities that even matter to their role to be worth cross classing. if they want to keep them as limited as they are now they may as well remove the cross class skills all together and make them automatically part of the job when you switch over.

Except that's not really true, especially for tanks. You see GLD and MRD all the time in PvP because it increases their DPS by about a LOT while not making them drastically more vulnerable. MNK can drop to PGL and gain a noticeable amount of burst. Some classes are viable, people just don't think outside the box. 10 cross class ations amongst a wider selection of them makes plenty of difference. I don't really think more is necessary.

Not the cross-class slots, but SE should increase the numbers of the cross-class skills for classes

It's just one example. The point being the classes already have viability in many cases. The fact that PLDs and WARs can turn themselves into decent DPS classes is pretty significant by itself. MNKs can drop to their class to trade higher sustain for higher burst, and I"m sure other DPS classes can as well.

Don't classes have 10 slots, and jobs have only 5?

Most skills are just cooldowns, anyway... they'd only be used again if they got access to higher-ranking skills and combos (like gladiator getting Storm's Path or Arcanist getting Thunder II).

Except you lose alot of main stat when you take off your soul shard. Only time I saw it do well is in a Garuda extreme video where they went 1 tank 1 healer 6 dps but one of them is a lancer, he tanked Chirada most of the time and provoked spiny plumes. You could say he did alot more damage than a tank but compared to other dps?

You can't cross class because the system can't handle having more than a few abilities on the hotbar at one time.

I already covered that when I mentioned "You trade high sustain for high burst." When you're bursting, the wealth of additional cooldowns available to boost damage offsets the lower main stat. Also, how much main stat you lose depends a lot on what gear you're using. Myth gear is job only, but allagan can be used by the class.

The same is true for weapons, Relic(+1) is job only.

Or...they could just drop classes alltogether and focus on making the jobs actually unique.

the extreme primal weapons can be used by the class though, right? as well as the Allagan weapons.

Well great news, classes have had 10 cross class skills since the game came out

Actually 5 is alot considering how crappy some of the skills you get are. PLD the only thing really worth picking up are SS and maybe bloodbath

This. I want to them to give us no restriction on abilities and traits you can cross-class when you're on a class, wasn't that the entire point? Make jobs the focused specialized roles, and make me able to customize-build interesting things when I'm on the class. As it is, this is a completely superfluous system because there's only ever like 3 or 4 abilities that end up actually being useful.

The wealth of additional cooldowns. Do you mean Raging Strikes because that's a pretty trivial trade off.
You lose Dragon Kick/1ilm punch/fists of fire/main stat/gear(maybe) all for raging strikes?

No, you can't cross class skills (like in 1.0) because of balancing issues. Not because the system can't handle it.
