How do the other Monks feel about PvP?
Monks are for One Ilm Punch. Greased Lightning is required for any real damage and good luck without Axe Kick.
MNK Feels Really Good.
Sprint poses a problem that I don't think Weapon Throw really solves- though I haven't put a point in yet, so I'm sure it will help. Basically, One Ilm Punch is such a tp hog that you will be crippled if you ever choose to sprint after someone, unless you have also talented the TP Regen skill or have feathers onhand.
Monks are pretty good in PvP. When one play good, it can be deadly. I just hope they'd crit more often.
Sadly I have only seen one good monk in PvP, which is really disappointing. I'd like to know what every other monk is missing that this particular one was not.
They're fine in PvP.
Has anyone mapped out which skills and what upgrades they will be using at Rank 30 yet?
I am a monk in pvp gear and I get wrecked and so lost
Monks can do well in certain comps, but reliance on GLx3 in a CC heavy meta makes them weaker than DRG.
Edit: Also add that positional attack requirements are terrible right now with ice-skating, jump abuse, etc
Somersault & Axe Kick II - III, Passive Strength upgraded, Purify I. May change these in the future.
i55 PVP gear? I'm mostly i90 PVE gear still, and wreck i55 people. Have you defeated Sheng Long? That may be why you don't stand a chance yet. No offense. :/
Positional attacks aren't that big a deal, as long as the Dragon Kick debuff lands, I can manage. The only positional requirements I actively try to pull off is for Bootshine and True Strike.
I haven't really done any PVP lately since this jump abuse has gotten out of hand, but that's being fixed soon™.
This.
25-30% more damage from the positional bonus is definitely significant.
Of course, I thought it was too obvious to be stated. But that's just part of being a mnk, so for me, to be a good monk is to land your skills on position as much as possible. Basic.
The way Monk's are is fine. I really hope no changes come to Monk. You just have to know how to play the class. The only class I have trouble with is SMN because of heavy and no ranged skills
