To be fair Odin runs around. Also shout for a group to join you're gonna get bronze at best if you try to go solo.
I doubt they were doing it on purpose. Just be grateful that they were kind enough to raise you at all.
Forgot to tell this: I was already in full party from the beginning, which should gave me Gold medal, if not for these healer-jerks keep rezzed me out of FATE zone. While the others got their gold medals, I alone got Silver.
Oh... and last time they did this again, Odin was in really low health and preparing his 1-hit kill ws. ><
If only the way Raise worked in this game wasn't completely retarded...
I... don't think that resets your contribution. Unless they've changed that part of it, it just is really, stupidly difficult to get gold on Odin.
For normal FATEs, you can release to a different zone, teleport back to the zone the FATE was in, and wait for it to end, and still get gold if you qualified for that before you died. Don't think resurrecting works as you think it does, though I could be wrong. The Odin and Behemoth FATEs are just very hard to get gold on, even if you're in a full group that is present from start to finish.
Moving outside of the fate zone does not reset your progress on the fate. The only way this can happen is if there is a level sync in place, and moving out of the area removes the sync as that can reset your progress. It's just difficult to get gold in that fate.
Hopefully this is really the case. It's just kind of sad since I did join from quite early and best I got is silver. And it did in fact annoys me since rezzing always put me outside the zone, which is where the healer is.
Lol it doesn't reset your progress, I've died in fates in a zone where my return point is and rezzed at it, I'd still get gold once the fate was over, without being there.
Long story short, you got silver because you were too busy being dead
You're lucky to have received silver... As a Healer who tries to help and raise/cure everyone while DD-ing also, I find it impossible to get higher than COPPER on that fate. Even if I decided to not raise anyone, it's impossible to do enough damage... We get shafted every time and here you are complaining that not only were people nice enough to raise you when you died, but they did it "too far away" so you couldn't get higher than a silver medal... ridiculous.
You got silver cause you kept dieing and not contributing. This isn't a prank and your progress doesn't get reset.
Way to explode cause you're short tempered and apparently know nothing about how fates work. Getting gold on either of those fates is extremely difficult.
Get the hell over your short sighted and entitled self.
Even using level sync in a fate then running out of it doesn't reset your progress. I know because I fate farmed to 50 in dragon head once. You should be thanking those healing for raising you, because you didn't have to run all the way back from wherever your spawn point was. It's kind of sad to see you cursing them for doing you a really nice favour. :(
Well... I still find this quite odd, why rezzing player while outside the zone?
I remember this one experience where I was doing lots of FATE on north thanalan for farming GC seals. There's one time where I got rezzed into outside FATE zone when it's almost over and because of that, I only got like bronze even though I nailed lots of damage there. From there on, I assume leaving FATE zone midway and re-enter kinda reset my progress.
If I am really wrong about this, then I'm sorry for my rant.
But in this Odin FATE, I was in scholar job, which is a healer, and was already in this job since I just finished a duty roulette which gave extra reward for healer job at that time. And while I was there, I kept spamming heals/protect/SS to my party members and gave several DOTs on Odin if I could manage to target him, was standing on quite edge of FATE zone. I have even rezzed people outside party if I happen to notice one and can squeeze it. I did count how many I got felled which I think like 4 times. 1st time rezzed still in FATE zone, but the rest? I got rezzed outside 3 times.
And here lies the question:
1. Why the heck there are healers outside FATE zone keep standing there and not entering?
2. Do they even get FATE contribution even though they're not entering the zone? granted, if they might be in same party as other players engaging Odin too.
And don't tell that I never felt my gratitude when I got rezzed because I got it alot and I always thanked them for it, which I got same amount when I rezzed other people.
Guess this is mostly the FATE system faults, but I still find this really unusual for the out-zone rezzing. Plus, this is kinda 1st time for me that I got these multiple out-zone raises.
And again, I did ask other party member and they did get their gold medals. And their dying counts more than I do, because I was busy raising them. So what the heck did I do wrong?
My only regrets is not screencaps these for proof.
I really hope there's some official clarification about my doubts.
I died three times doing the Go, Go, Gorgimera fate once and ran back from the aetheryte each time, and still got Gold while soloing. I was SMN at the time and I did some damage and also raised a few people. I think it's just because Odin is a difficult Fate to get gold on.
You don't need to be in the actual ring to contribute. There's one fate in Coerthas where most of the mobs are actually outside the ring a fair bit, and I recently did one of the ones to unlock Crystal Tower by luring the mob outside the ring and away from the random mobs that were surrounding him.
And I've come to Odin from the start (one guy attacked before I started in), gotten into a group within ~15 seconds of engaging him, DPSed the whole time (except for a couple of 10-second period where he was invisible) and still gotten a bronze.
The way those fates are weighted is just stupid.
That is kinda odd.
Still, this doesn't answer why there's bunch of healers parks outside the zone. I do suspect they're taking advantage for this achievement. I kinda wish this achievement never exist in 1st place.
sigh... if only I did screencaps it.
I'm confused, don't you need to be in the FATE zone when it ended so that you get your FATE reward?
I'm even having several occasions in the past where I got accidentally thrown outside FATE zone when it ended, whether I walked outside by mistake or died and either rezzed/hp-ed to camp, and I don't get any reward even though I did lots of damage. And that's on regular FATEs.
:?
You need to be in the 'Zone' as in 'South Shroud' or whatever.
You do not need to be anywhere near the actual fate ring/circle.
FATE ranking is based on Threat, not Damage.
FATE contribution doesn't reset when you leave the FATE circle, become unsynced, or even leave the zone entirely.
Behemoth and Odin are incredibly difficult to get Gold on. It's not uncommon to tag the boss, tank the boss and still get bronze or silver.
Healers were probably resurrecting you outside of the FATE circle so you wouldn't immediately die again when you were up.
You are 100% in the wrong here. Apologize and move on.
Are you seriously complaining that you died to Odin repeatedly, got raised repeatedly, and only got silver? You're lucky anyone took the time to raise you. That fight is chaos enough with DPS rushing headlong into Odin without letting a proper tank gain actual control of the situation, nevermind trying to find you amidst the pile of death surrounding him.
You didn't get Silver because healers kept being, as you seem to elude, malicious in raising you outside the FATE ... the FATE that frequently moves about due to the nature of the fight. You got Silver because you contributed, but not enough to merit Gold ... because the dead don't DPS.
I highly doubt anyone targeted you specifically for some kind of prank or joke, because there's too much going on during Odin to even be bothered otherwise.
1.) stop dying
2.) fate contribution doesn't reset even when you are out of it
3.) only one group can get gold in odin, claiming it first doesn't automatically give you a gold
4.) hate & damage are factors in fate contribution, with you dying so much you aren't contributing anyway
5.) Odin moves around often
6.) don't take raise from strangers, have your party members raise you
7.) stop dying
OP have you ever thought to stop and think that maybe they are standing outside of the fray to A) keep you from getting 1-shot again, and B) not die themselves. If there are no healers alive, where will you get your recovery?
In the real world, medics do their best work behind the lines where they can support everyone else and not die themselves. FATEs are already screwed up in that they don't award much to healers, so they are already going in gimped compared to DPS and tanks, so be grateful of them willing to out of their way to raise you since raising doesn't increase enmity (and thus, raising is simply out of the goodness of their heart since they are not getting any progression towards the FATE rewards for doing it).
And you're missing the point here too.
The reason I made this thread is not because I'm not satisfied getting just a Silver. I did get lots of Silver/bronze on Odin/Behemoth before. I might sulk, but I moved on.
What I find odd, and again I repeat, are the multiple raises outside FATE zone, which I felt 1st time since the history of me doing FATEs, especially Odin/Behemoth ones.
This is why the topic title are there. I'm suspecting achievement being exploited on other's expenses. If not for this achievement, I won't even bother making this thread in 1st place.
But... I do apologize if those healers intention were pure.
Behemoth and Odin do a lot of huge AOE damage. Healers are regularly killed in on shot if they're standing anywhere near.
You should be happy the healers were able to target you at all to raise you, instead of blaming them for the fate not going the way you wanted.
There's only an Achievement for the first raise and I think for 20 raises. People who main healers probably cap pretty quickly. Therefore it probably IS the kindness of strangers and not a desire for Achievements that compels people to raise you and any other players they see lying dead. Other people have answered why healers stand back from a Fate, but to chime in, if you are ranged you don't need to be up close and personal with the Fate boss.
Nope. orphaned since little. lol
Well... if you're happen to be passing by the stranger in need for help or heard a shout while there's no one nearby that damsel in distress, then yes: it is a kindness of strangers. It did felt good when I answer those calls. But thank you for that though.
If you were on your SCH then you should be happy you got silver.
We have told you already that there was no malicious intent. Apparently you don't do the FATE often as there are always healers and ranged DPS outside the fate itself to keep from getting one shot.
Stop whining and delete this thread. It's the most useless and whining thread here right now and that's saying a lot for general discussion.
You do realize Raise and Resurrection have long cast times, right? The FATE moves a lot... enough so that by the time the cast time begins it is entirely feasible that they wound up being outside of the area.
Also, I think you continue to miss the points that have been presented here. You get credit for your contributions during a FATE based on how much you participate, regardless of whether or not you were still in the FATE area when it ends, regardless of how often you duck in and out of the FATE, and so on and so forth. You can contribute to the start of a FATE for a bit, go elsewhere, and then fourteen or so minutes later (if no one else bothers with the FATE) you'll gain a reward based on what you did for the FATE.
An achievement that really has no sway on anything in game other than 'lookit my pretty numbers' is not enough motivation for anyone to try to troll anyone, you or otherwise.
You continue to try and make a case that you're the victim here when in reality all you're doing is trashing those who went out of their way to try to bring you back to help down Odin. We continue to try and explain how incorrect you are. You're just not having it. So, we're at an impasse. Good luck to you. I think you'll need it.
I don't understand.
If you're in a full party, even if you're raised from outside the FATE zones, the contribution of the party does not get reset.
You're getting Silver because your party isn't generating enough enmity, not because you have been raised, the next time you're dead, kindly just run back from your save point.
As the fate is moving around and in all probability a healer kind enough to raise you would have no idea weather you were currently in or out of the fate zone, just threw you a raise out of the kindness of their heart only to be resented by you. You think they should hang around until Odin/Behemoth moved back into your range again? There is so much going on in these fates seems to me you already got more than your ungratefulness deserves. I suggest everyone avoids raising you just in case they piss you off.
healers, please don't rez this guy at all next time.
thank you
For like the eighteenth time, you do not lose progress if you're outside the FATE zone. Have you not seen people leave FATEs early because they know they've contributed enough to earn a gold medal?
