BRD still good post 2.1?

So I seen some No BRD crap and wanted to know if BRD was still worth leveling to 50?
My BRD is 34 its either gear DRG out in Relic or finish BRD and go from there.

I think bard is still good. Noticed a little drop in DPS for static battles but given that the new EM primals and Ultima involves ALOT of moving, I find myself still generating more hate than the other DPS (unless they used quelling strikes). I think our high up time and being ranged still gives us some good advantage to a 8-man team.

did a full bard CT run the other day.

we consistently bursted down our section before everyone else did.

Brd still gets the added effect of being able to jump the gun/range, and still pretty good burst.
Testing on dummies i got this, all similar(gear relic/DL/AK ring) Drg using AK body.
Sustained dmg Mnk(can't test this assuming still @1)>Drg>Smn>Brd.
Can't test Blm, mnk is a estimate. My ilv86 Pld in sword oath dose withing 2-3dps of my brd.
Parsing others lately A blm and Mnk around the same item lv can do about the same dps, assuming depending on thunder/fire procs tho?. Not uncommon for my drg to beat similar or better geared blm's.
The overall brd nerf wasn't that bad, but was pretty bad if that makes sense.

The biggest change is that hitting over the 800 dmg mark on brd with full buffs hasn't been possible since the nerf meaning it affected our burst damage the most. With a drg in one of the DPS spots I've seen up to 770 crits with buffs up, but on average they cap around the 690~730 range depending on how well geared you are. In a instance that isn't dodge intensive for melee, it is far more obvious, but in other content where our mobility DPS keeps us constant it didn't affect use as much.

I still believe the combination of buffs to melee and nerf to cross class on brd created and overall too big of a gap, but the fights have proven that our utility of songs during specific phases has increased since they created constant aoe damage tics that create a drain even on better geared healers through the fights. This has still cemented our position in fights as well as the fact that stacking jobs compared to not stacking has a significant impact on how fast limit break bars fill to the point I never want to be in a group that stacks jobs (tanks, dd, or healers). There is a far bigger picture to look at now instead of just our damage output, but yes...the nerf is still very noticeable for someone who played before and after it. Luckily SE had the common sense to make sure that our "pieces of the puzzle" were still strong enough to keep us in over just replacing us with another DD.

My MNK is ilvl86 the highest Crit I've had is 767. On my DRG before relic the highest was 1056 crit and my wife's DRG 1240 highest. I really want the BRD for the mobility mainly on the new Extreme fights, Cause its a trade in item for the new weapons.

Well if you consider not getting hit by wicked wheel... and having an easier time. yeah bards are still ok. I use them for garuda ex.

Bard is still amazing, 100% up time, near instant burst, aoe, burst(battle voice) raid damage or mana/tp regen, silence. They are the most versatile class and are number 1 at learning content. Sometimes they are less desirable when content becomes trivial or sometimes they become even more needed.

I am lvling BRD for the sole reason that I will be able to move and DPS and never lose up-time on boss. Plus, I'd love to have some more utility over what my DRG has :P Still very desirable

Bard is still good if you know how to play him! Mage Ballad didn't got nerfed and that is the most important song specifically for garuda ex etc. He is still a good DPS and i will stick to the class i choose like in other mmorps and i won't switch to the FOTM class because i hate players who do this. I want to master a class even if this class got/will be nerfed to the ground.

The Straight Shot/Bloodletter tooltip error scared people into thinking Bard got nerfed more than it actually did. As already stated, we didn't really need a nerf in combination of the melee buffs, but I think the nerf overall was less than 4% dps loss so yeah, the sky isn't falling or anything.

We still own on movement fights and still have very good burst, and MP song still welcomed as always.

Bards are still one of the most desired classes, and not just for their utilities, as many parties still prefer multiple bards over multiple melee.

I often find that Bard out-damage almost everybody because the majority of end-game content that actually matters involves so much movement that everyone loses a lot of DPS besides Bard. Not to mention the songs that are almost required if you aren't over-geared for everything (a random party finder group I joined today for Turn 1 had both healers out of MP by the time both snakes were at 10%. Mage's Ballad was invaluable.

If you make a Bard, never worry about being unwanted. The T1 group I mentioned before took 2 Bard for T2 because they wanted them for their silence. Bard was the only class they required.
