Point of new Hard Mode Dungeons?

Besides something new to do once or twice. Why would you run these nonstop? For low level vanity gear? Is that really it? WP and AK are still so much easier to run through for tomes.

It isnt worth it to run these to gear up alt jobs as you can still get the same gear in AK and WP.

Effort vs reward for new dungeons is lacking. Up the gil amount or something. Otherwise I doubt people will do more than the daily hard roulette and go back to farming AK and WP.

IMO this update is phail in many ways.

People wanted something to do other than run WP and AK. I, for one, am sick of Tonberries and Demon Walls. Yeah, I go back to farming WP most of the time but it's nice to have something else to challenge. More content isn't a bad thing. Many people are running these and enjoying them, trying to find ways to speed run them and thankful they don't have to see the gears at the start of WP anymore.

It's the same with Extreme Primals. People will run them, get what they need from them and go back to logging on Monday, doing Coil, running WP and logging off (though, now they can just do 1 Duty Roulette each day and meet the Myth cap each week...). There are indeed a lot of fails in the update, but giving us more to do so we don't get bored is generally a good play.

Because I want something other than WP and AK to run. At least now there's a bit of variety.

Yes because 15 weekly runs of the same dungeons would totally not bore me to death -_-

For variety :P This is like asking a restaurant why they have so many items on the menu, why not just the one most ordered item?

I for one welcome these new dungeons, not that I need the gear from them but because they are something new to do and are fun. And most importantly they are not AK or WP. Right now I am not doing AK or WP unless I have to for someone in my FC, in the future I might simply alternate between those 2 and the 3 new ones. More ways to gather those myth things is not fail.

They do...if you have a group that can finish them...

I'm never doing WP or AK again outside of roulette.

I enjoy the new ones. I think they're fun. Also, in a few weeks, when a lot of people have really learned them, they'll be easy. Honestly only really had trouble with Copperbell, but after a few runs through it, it's not so tough anymore.

Haukke Manor is not that hard, and it gives more seals. I bet with a party of people you know you could do it just as fast as a WP run. All the mobs seem to have low HP.

Tank has to stun, or anyone with stun needs to stun the succubi when they see the ability demonize. You stop the wailer from becoming a demon. Blm aoes the mobs to death. Everything dies so fast in there, there's almost no reason not to pull by the bulk like wp and burn them down.

- Higher Myth rewards
- Gear from AK was moved to the new dungeons (AK now drops WP gear as well) along with a new ilvl 60 set of equipment
- Tonberry races got old
- Increase in difficulty for players outgearing WP and AK and complaining they were too easy
- They aren't WP or AK

All I want to know is where the slime and demon brick pets went and why don't Allagan coins drop from chests anymore?

Considering that Philo tomes are much easier to obtain at level 50 now due to low level and story roulettes (not to mention Treasure Hunting chests that contain philo items for crafting), getting your ilvl 70 gear is easy enough to skip the ilvl 55/ilvl 60 stuff almost entirely. And with current level of difficulty, none of the new dungeons are viable for those who just reached level 50 - players in class AF are a liability in there.

So I guess all that work they put into these "new" dungeons only goes as far as providing an alternative for raid-geared people to grind, i.e. more of "let's be done with this boring stuff and forget it" content. Yay.

True this. We've only actually done it once, but we cleared in 24 mins our first time. I'm sure we could get that a lot lower.

I think haukke can be a legitimate farm. Since it gives 50 myth, clearing it in 20 minutes makes it more profitable per run than your average 15 minute wp. Getting a group to do this may take a little time since the dungeon is new and a bit challenging, and chances are wp will be more reliable simply because it's easier, but there are at least other choices to consider now

Ya, the only thing i don''t like is that they are a bit to difficult to just drop il60 gear, especially since its hard me to get a reliable group farm the gear for vanity.

ditto. Hauke Manor can be finished in a decent amount of time. My myth runs are now a combination of duty roulette, Hauke HM and the occasional WP Speed Run

Plus the difficulty is only there cause people are still getting the mechanics down. Once thats done the new dungeons will become the farms to go to... and by the time people grow sick of them it should hopefully be time for new dungeons to be added.
I also think the difficulty is fine given the amount of Myth and the gear it drops.

I don't know why they spent development time on this only to have it drop gear that is the same as the place we have been forced to run for the past couple of months.

I ran it, it was nice and pretty. I'm done.

They didn't even make it part of the main story! Why spend the time making a brand new instance that only has obsolete drops??

They should have made it at least drop unique stuff for furniture or recipes... they hand out DL like candy...I wasn't even going to bother running it once, but wanted to see what they had done.

The backwards design is overwhelming with this patch.

Haukke HM is the new WP. With a full FC group we can beat the dungeon in about 20 minutes and we get 50 myth tomes versus a 15 minute WP speedrun for 30.

Plus the music is awesome. :)

The gear drops in AK and WP are both i55 now.

People always look at content as a "This doesnt suit me at end game, what is the point of it?"
You do realize the game is still brand facking new and they will release content for all levels and ranges. Well not will but can! If they released 5 new level 15-45 dungeons tomorrow I wouldn't complain. I would be happy my next job has more variety in gear and thigns to do

There's a second set of ilvl 60 gear that drops in there with different stats so you can gear around your preferred secondary stat. Good example is the two tanking body pieces. Hoplite body has 24 accuracy and 17 skill speed, and the new Lord's Cuirass has 17 parry and 17 determination. Also, unless you had literally every drop you could get out of AK before this you'll still likely farm some gear for a different class later on.

Would have been nice if they had made the new sets ilevel 70-75 to give us some more itemization and choice other than DL. Especially since CT gear is so restricted.

i love haukke manor because of how fast it is, it's definitely the new go-to farm dungeon imo

I am in no way an "elite" player or anything, but, Haukke Manor is SUPER easy.!
I did it through the DF the first time, and we cleared it in 24min w/ no wipes.
If you had a static you could probably get the 50myth in 15min.

I had some problems w/ Pharos... Siren is causing me some problems that I could solve by looking at a guide, but I don't for some reason.

Kill sergeants first when adds pop, whoever they are after they will grab and prevent any action until killed.
Stun Lunatic Voice if possible. If not, remove the healing debuff from party or else you won't be able to heal through Deathly Voice.
Random targeted Deathly Voice requires the target be healed to full or else the target is charmed when debuff expires
Esuna/Leech the DoT off of tank
When Siren disappears, hang around the center for her to reappear. If she appears in the center, stack under to avoid AoE Deathly Voice. If she appears at the side, scatter as she will charge through the center similar to Ifrit.

She's actually easy, it's just HELL on healers.

This thread is proof that they could hand out $100 bills every time you logged in, and someone would QQ about it.

New HM Dungeons would have been nice if they were actually HARD. Did it once just to experience it, but there isn't any incentive otherwise.
