I feel that it would be great if we could get 1 myth tome for participating, and 1 more for winning. Although it might sound silly, little by little these tomes stack up.
Reason I’m asking is because i want to become very heavily invested in PVP, but i still want to feel progression towards PVE. I fully expect people to criticize this idea. But I honestly don’t understand why. Any player who improves his PVE gear is nothing more than a teammate who will be more effective when he/she parties with you.
A few points to back up my request:
-Myth rewards will attract more players to PVP
-PVP would become a viable means to obtain tomes, meaning less grinding dungeons, and less monotony.
-More pvp means more items consumed, and thus more market traffic.
-if rewards happen at this rate, PVP would still not be the fastest means to farm myths. Hence, PVP won’t replace dungeons altogether.

And i disagree with what you said about it being the same thing to ask for wolf marks in pve. FF14 is 95% pve and 5% pvp. im asking to allow it so that when i play pvp i dont fall behind in what is essentially 95% of the game. Saying that 95% of the content in the game should benefit you in 5% of the game, yeah that is silly. -

It should reward myth, IMO. I don't like PVP personally but it should reward those who do like it over dungeon runs and those who choose to focus on it. It provides more options and fun for those that enjoy it over dungeon grinding.
However if they decide to remove the restriction on the PVP gears' materia only working while in PVP then I think it wouldn't be too bad the way it is set up currently, as you could just use the PVP gear for PVE with enough melds. -

I'll elaborate. Unless Myth gives PVP Gear, then there is no use for it in a PVP setting. You PVE for PVE rewards. You PVP for PVP rewards. Never, EVER cross the two... EVER.

If I see someone in Myth gear, I can safely assume that the person wearing it has probably run primals and dungeons a significant number of times to at least grasp some common battle mechanics in the PvE content to have acquired his gear. If PvP gave out Myth tomes, however, it would be more difficult to tell since now there's a chance that this same player may have put all his time into PvP and obtained his Myth gear that way, thus may be completely inexperienced in PvE party mechanics.
This is the same reason that I believe it's a good thing high level PvP gear is obtained from PvP only. Just imagine if Coil or Crystal Tower dropped PvP gear; there would be a chance for you to be matched up with someone decked in full Direwolf gear that just gets demolished by the opposing team out the gate because he hasn't gained the same level of PvP experience. -

I'm not going to write a book and explain why I disagree with OP. I will say it's obvious this is your first MMO forum expirence. Or you would know that gear being too effective for the opposite objective "PVP, PVE" there is community outrage pretty much. PVP and PVE have completely different play styles for classes and when a player only does one or the other usually they are bad at the latter of the two, and neither want those to have the rewards for mastering the other without having completed that content.

I don't think myths would be a good idea. I think they should be giving Company Seals personally. Makes sense.
PvP matches go rather fast, especially if there's a lot of people queing. Getting a couple myths could add up really quick, and imo, be rather undeserved at times.
I think they should just increase the Wolf Marks if we can only choose one thing. I've been pvping for a coupled days pretty steady (DF groups) and am still under 2000. GOD I'm jonesin man! Gimme da gear! xD -

Erm, no. If you want PvE gear you should just play PvE like the rest of us. What you're requesting makes no sense whatsoever.
PvP should stay completely separate from PvE and vice versa.
Besides, rewarding myth isn't going to magically attract those who hate PvP to the content. Not unless you make PvP reward you with way more myth than PvE, but then I'd ask what the hell SE would be thinking. -

I think there are better ways to do this with some introduction quests like a daily Guildhest that pits 4 players (2DD, 1 Healer, 1 Tank) against 4 PvE targets that would try to act like players (random classes, but they too have 2DD, 1 Healer, 1 Tank) who would roll out crowd control and randomly select but prioritising vulnerable targets. It would be near impossible for Square to pull this off perfectly but it'd be PvE with some PvP elements in it rewarding you once a day for participating (10 Myth, 100 Wolf Marks and then perhaps after granting 5 Philo and 10 Wolf Marks if you wanted to carry on before the daily reset)

Considering how the pretty much give out myth tomes everywhere in this game, there is no reason why you couldn't have pvp give myth too.
1 high level roulette of haukke manor gives 90 myth tomes. That's 45-90 pvp matches to get that equivalent. Meh, I would be totally fine with that. -

Bad idea..people will simply afk a match to get the minumal tome for losing. This happened on dcuo and pvp became terrible. Plus pve should always be seperate from pvp imo
