Im just curious about how many people that are working with this game full time?
Maybe only few people are working full time while other just work part time?
How big is the staff really and are they only working with this game or maybe another game?
I really like to know this.

Judging by the progress they're making? I'd say about 3 interns who are doing it for free on their spare-time.
Entire full release games have been made from scratch in the time SE managed to re-design a battle system (in most games it's done in few months and then locked so other aspects can be designed on top of it).
Let's see what their art team has managed to do in this time...wait ONE dungeon, are you kidding me with this?!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
New piece of gear shouldn't by any means take more than 4 days MAXIMUM to produce by a one guy let alone an entire art team. Then why is it we still all look the same because player's can only choose between a potato sack or a coffee-pot-armor? -

The armors look fairly different then me. Even the weaving in the cloth armor varies by cloth type that is used.
Compaired to most mmo, the armor in XIV probably takes around 3-4fold as long to produce.
Think that is half XIV's issues, everything is so crazily detailed it is not only putting strain on the graphics engine but taking them forever to make stuff for the game. -

In XI the armor took longer to take because character proportions were different. In XIV they're the same and all the gear is just scaled up or down or wider. Again why do we all look the same. Palette swaps don't cut it.
Also a shirt with a longer sleeve does not a new gear make. -

Just a few weeks ago SE reminded us that they have different teams working on different parts of the game. But the art team has not lifted a finger since the release. Honestly I want that job. Between commenting on 8 threads I've done more art for a videogame than the entire art team of XIV has done within a year and most people consider my work speed slow. (which I'm willing to admit it is)
I wonder what it would be like to have a SE artist sit next to me. I mean if he showed up at work what would he DO to make the time pass without producing anything?! -

Not to mention those 100 no named people most likely work on XI (as said prior to XIV release that xi department would be working on the game and you can see it through the code/structure). So its half as productive as it should be.

There has to be an asterisk next to that number. Like there are 100 people working in the office and they each take a turn one day a week working on FF14. That would seem more realistic. Assuming they didn't just furlough their art staff, I think it'd be safe to assume we should be seeing 6 months of armor/weapon/mob design fairly soon. The last time we had more than a few models added to the game was the original December NM patch.

Having said that since it's draining money it's understandable, lucky it's around at all the shape it's in let alone having a massive staff. -

There's existing ones not used plus it's the same areas, they don't need to plop down new monsters for the sake of it, none of the MMOs I've played done that and I can guarantee unless they had a graphics patch the mobs that existed in the newbie area and beginners areas 3-5 years ago will still be there and nothing new. New monsters, especially in all of SE's MMOs tend to come with new areas, quest related, monster replacement and placement changes and event systems -- they never just plop down new monsters for the sake of it lol.Quote:
