Fishing Timeworn Peisteskin Map

Has anybody fished one of these things? Been at it for 5 hours straight at North Shards. 324 Gathering with food (309 without) and I didn't get a single one. I did get like 5-6 fish that got away which I can only suspect they were in fact bottles with high evasion stats ^^, esp. since I never got that message at that location before. I wish I could say I'm angry, but after all this time I'm just baffled.

Any thoughts? Tips? Words of wisdom?

yesterday it took me 3 casts there
today it took me 10 minutes there

More reason to be... concerned. What's your gathering/perception KingZeus?
What bait? I used spinner all this time. Maybe that's not what bottles eat?

i would guess that bait wouldn't matter for the bottles, but who knows what the hell SE does :o

i used honeyworms. if you are trying to get a bottle quickly, i'd use whatever bait has the fastest bite reaction time. some baits can go up to like 24 seconds before a bite!

I went 1/9 yesterday. Just now starting to fish another. I'll let you know how many it takes.

Ediit: 1/3 North Shards, 307 Gathering, 249 Perception 50FSH

1/1 the first day. Mythril spoon lure.

I am 1/1. Got it on my 3rd cast. I used Caddishfly Larva. That is also the bait everyone in my FC is using too and we don't seem to have a problem fishing up Piesteskin maps

Obviously there was some confusion, as neither of us knows where "North shards" is. I figured it was an innocent and easily answered question :)

Remember that there is an 18 hour cooldown on finding treasure maps. So if you've found any of the lesser maps you're not going to get a Peisteskin Map for at least 18 hours after than no matter what you do.

*Note: I'm not saying that is what happened, I'm just raising the point.

Is there a limited number you can catch in a day or in a predefined timeframe? Got 1/8 with caddyfish larva, 0/50 on the second catch attempt.

I tried Parata's Place yesterday for like 30 minutes and didn't have any luck. No maps at all. Eventually I just swapped to Botanist and went and got one that way.
