Housing Clarification Regarding Future Plans/Workshop

I would like clarification from the Devs on whether workshops/basements will be available to all size plots. Some have suggested that this might be limited to large size housing, but I have not seen anything official about this.

Considering this is such a large investment of both time and gil, and considering you are telling us to wait and grind out gil, we should at least know what our target will be. I don't want to spend the next however many months grinding out gil, get a small or medium house, and then two months later find out we dropped all that gil to be locked out of future content/workshops/airships etc.

Q. Please tell us what we can do with individual player housing. Can we set our minions to play around the house? Can we make greenhouses and fields?
A. Through updates, we're planning to make it possible for players to grow gysahl greens and hatch baby chocobos and raise them. Also, we’re planning underground workshops where crafters can build boats and airships.

I would like to know this too. If all that will be available to all land sizes we might aim for a medium plot, instead of a large one.

Anyway, what I would like to know too is that if, even if we could have workshops, basements, chocobo stables, etc. available to all land sizes, we would have to choose between having one OR the other, or if they would come in different sizes so that all plots can have all of them. I think that this question would affect too what plot people will choose.

Throw my vote in for more clarification on this.

The question seems to be addressing individual housing. It seems to make more sense to wait for that

To be clear, I am not referring to individual housing. I'd like to clarify what this means for FC housing. However, if we could learn a bit in advance about individual housing, that could also alleviate people's stress and help make decisions. If we could have workshops in our individual houses (which seems odd since I thought that was a combined crafting effort idea), that would be important to know as well.

This is why I want to know, this is a small house on our server (TY ATMA for allowing us to visit). I want to make sure people who choose to purchase small houses will not be limited beyond the size and amount of items they can place, that they will have access to all future content, workshops etc.

... but it seems that most players are more concerned about complaining about costs than what they will actually be able to do once they buy a house.

I also would like to know about the crafting basement (the multiple crafter feature mentioned by Yoshi-P) for small & medium houses.

Also, shouldn't the small FC house have multiple stories? I assumed it was S=1, M=2, L=3-story, but I saw a medium house with 3 stories and you could fit 2 or 3 small houses on one of its floors. That's like around 6 to 9 times the floor space for 3x the price.

This is a very important question that needs to be answered quickly in order for us to plan ahead. I'm very interested in raising chocobos and I would be very sad if, let's say, we bought a small house and then weren't able to place a chocobo stable.

I would like to know this info as well as my FC is aiming at the largest house over time on Cactuar

One of the early preview videos showed the inside of each type of home. The large house is only one that comes with a basement so I would guess that it is the only one that can house a basement workshop.

Seems like this should be an easy answer to get, and is fairly critical....

I wish they would help the community out and give us some more details.

I remember clearly that Yoshi answered exactly this question in second from last live letter and only Largge size house / plot will be capable of having the workshop (I've mentioned it as well in the Big-House-Price-Thread). As mainly crafter I was planing from the very begining to get only large house for my micro-FC (less than 10 members) but after publishing the prices in the patch notes I can forget about EVER having the FC workshop :((((

If that is the case, and I would still like an actual confirmation, then by his own statistics he has given the middle finger to 80% of the playerbase he deemed poor enough to only expect to afford a small plot of land, and whoever else he thinks should be able to afford a medium plot.

Bumping because small houses are ridiculous in size and people choosing to save up for medium should know what they are spending the gil on. Really hope workshops/choco raising etc are not restricted to large houses but either way we need to know or it would be silly to buy any other house.

Transparency? You want SE to be transparent post launch? Woo... the season is merrier for some than others I guess if you think they'll be that charitable before the start of spring.

I'd like to know this aswell, also if people have more pictures of the inside of a small house I'd greatly appreciate it :D

Still waiting on an actual dev note for clarification on this. We've already witnessed that SE and Yoshi say one thing and something totally different is the end result...I don't even take patch notes and live letters seriously anymore.

I would also like to know, when I bought this game the biggest thing i was looking forward to was Housing and breeding Chocobos, however at the time i didn't realize all the fun stuff wasn't in the game at release... I really need to know if I should start saving my money now for personal housing and give up trying to help my FC get a House. Or if these features will even be included in FC housing.

Aye, same questions here.
Me and my girlfriend, mostly interested in crafting and chocobo raising, got a FC, and close to a million gil (fortunately on Cerberus - cheap server).
Could get enough gil for a small house in a month I reckon, but really want to know what the additional perks for the medium and larger properties will be.
Or also if it is worth waiting until personal housing comes out in stead.
Will there be any advantage to it being personal or FC house?

And anyway, small houses are insanely small. I mean, they are like an inn room! Even smaller I think. Who come up with this...? It's supposed to be for a FC....

There's a small, medium and large house on tonberry and after looking at all of them I can confirm only the medium and large have basements. There's no way a small can fit anything like a workshop, it looks like a japanese-sized apartment and is pathetic compared to medium and large.

Q_Q you hurt us but i agree its very small.........too small but the area is beautiful
then again there no basement which i hope small house get revamp to get slight bigger with basement

Haha nah, I was just checking out mist. There was a pool party in elvellon basement just before with about 30 random squatters.
