Accidentally made FC member Master

Today I was upgrading my ranking system for my FC along with the 2.1 patch. I accidentally made one of my FC members the master of the whole FC, and he has been gone for 37 days. I am not sure if he is coming back. This is a very easy thing to do considering when you promote a member the master status is on the very top, and that's where it starts from after you press promote. One accidental press of x will do it. For future problems that can arise from this, I suggest you put a 2nd confirmation option for this. I really need my FC mastership back. I have contacted SE by email with no response. Pleaseee help me. :(

Hopefully you get a response. There's an FC on my server who's Master quit the game a while back and so far they've gotten no help even after contacting SE :(

I am having this same exact problem, I have sent in multiple tickets on this issue. They cannot help us with this at this time, but there has been talk of adding in a system where we can get our leadership back.

It is so frustrating. :( I have been extremely irritated by ease of transferring leadership while editing rank. It is poorly thought out. I wish we could get more coverage on this, and bring it to someone's attention. Waiting for patch 2.2 is a tremendous amount of time to be placed on hold.

Also my original post with this same suggestion was closed and considered resolved. So that means we should probably keep this post alive and well so that it is taken note of.

Oh i will keep this thread alive and well :). This issue needs to be addressed and resolved there is no reason why the highest ranking in the Free Company should be that simple to transfer over. Thankfully I have amazing FC members that will stick by me as we make a new Free company from scratch :mad: until this is fixed.

no there is not after you press x it is all done.

B_V1, yeah I had been very specific with permissions in our Company and thankfully had given many of the officers the ability to promote/demote, manage the chest contents, and change the Company board. There is a post about this issue with official text that states the ability to retrieve leadership from an inactive member is coming post 2.1. We are going to stick it out, and wait for it to be adjusted.

It would be great to see some kind of fix for this. It's really ridiculous there isn't a confirmation asking if you're sure you want to transfer mastership to another member. On PS3 you hit X and you're screwed. :(

Oceana- That is exactly what happened to us! One mistaken mash of my X button and we are stuck until there is a fix. :(

I'm sorry that happened to your FC as well Mythie. :( I'm a member of the original poster's FC (I'm the commander) so this is pretty close to heart for me too. I don't understand why there is confirmation when passing mastership of a Linkshell, but not when doing it for a Free Company? :/ Weird.

Though we are worlds apart, we share the same grief! We will stick by you to try and get this issue seriously investigated. I am anxious to have my company back, and eager to reassure them everything is going to be alright.... But it is difficult.

Figures they put a 2nd conformation on the new ranking system, but what about the people who did it before the fix? That's awesome that SE finally fixed this but I still don't have my olde FC back yet please do something so i can become master again:mad:

Agreed, I hope it happens soon. We may have tracked down the member who is inactive. Just going to pay them for a month of service, and get us back on track!

We did indeed, through a network of friends and family.

There are a lot of new improvements to the hi for companies. When they finally implement the ability to regain mastership, you will be golden!

Yeah till then I am just starting over and leveling my new FC. After I get my new FC to level 8 if he still isn't back I am just going to invite all my members back to the olde FC and have a field party with all the FC points we racked up. Drain it dry and be done with it. :)

First off, i'm terribly sorry about what happened D:! But you know.. At least it's someone inactive that can't take advantage of it, than someone who was active and can possibly go poop apes on you? I dunno.. I'm overly cautious on this like that, don't want to log in one day to have what little is in my FCs chest all gone >.<!

Don't give up! Keep this thread alive! With hopefully enough posts and up time, a GM will see it and hopefully be able to help you! It may take days to get one, but here is to hoping they reply soon! :) <.< Believe me, i know about its if you haven't seen my thread in this section yet.

Anyone have a link to the FC UI changes or abilities for post 2.1 if they are going to fix this. An official link?

I am hearing that in patch 2.2 this issue will finally be resolved! If anyone has any official confirmation please Post it :).

This happened to me as well and I was told to leave my feedback so I'll just leave my support for this idea here

While I don't have any more information on it, I do just wanna mentioned that when I filed my Support Ticket for this, I got a very prompt reply from GM Mauksee, who was as helpful as he could be with suggestions and as much as he could do within his power, including answering a few random questions ^.^. I know S-E gets a lot of flak (plenty warranted, plenty not) for their customer support lately, so I'm more than happy to point out that I was very satisfied with my experience with them, even if they couldn't fix the issue off hand. Mauksee did say that if we want the feature, we should continue to point it out and gather support for it, so it's good seeing there's already 3 pages on it too. Hopefully more and more FC will ask for this, even if they haven't experienced any issues with this yet. It's a real problem that could easily effect anyone, and there needs to be either a player or GM way to resolve it, or a great many FCs can potentially lose much of their work rather easily, depending on their set permissions.
