For those who are asking, the quest from Main scenario unlocked me the Good King Moggle which its name is Thornmarch in the Duty find.

I cant even get the quest to unlock him. >.>
It's not where the patch notes say it is at least.
Has the mechanics changed a lot from 1.0?
What you need is a...
Warrior tank :]
Too bad I'm @work and won't be home for a while to save the day!
You have to do the main scenario quest and it will eventually show up in duty finder.
I havent been in 1.0 but Ive got matched with people from 1.0 and they said it is kinda different although you still have to kill 1 by 1, but it deals massive AoE dmg and one attack was for 21k dmg. ;/
Had a party with 2 warriors , the tactics are kinda weird. its not easy as it sounds , you havent tried yet mate .
I can't wait to slaughter some moogles with my WAR tank. Idk about now, but in 1.0 the strat was to have the tank kite them around the instance while the rest of the party picked them off in order.
Yep, would be awesome if someone in the know could let us know what we need to do to be able to pick this up... patch notes say "The Price of Principles" from Minfila at Waking Sands, but there must be a prereq for that or something, cuz it doesn't show.
That probably will make it easier.
In 1.0:
- Each moogle appears one at a time and you kill them. You want to kill all of them so the Kings AF doesn't do a lot of dmg.
- After is Summoned and moogles are raised, each moogle will attack the person who had the highest enmity when it died.
- I recall trying to keep the Gladiator and Warrior moogle on the OT. MT kited king around the outside of the room.
- We would nuke the BRD moogle first, then BLM, WHM,THF, RNG, WAR, GLA, finally king.
If it's different then just ignore this.
Nope, the exact same. For every mog left alive before they summon, the aoe does more damage.
Most important: Healers can esuna / leech the confuse off people.
I think I got 'world first' (not that it matters, easy fight) on Gilgamesh since I ran through the unlock quest and two shotted with first party I was in.
Helpful tips:
-Mogs will keep numbers attached to them after they're raised in p2 (helpful)
-MT kites king moogle and the rest (everyone picks one moogle off at a time)
-Healer LB3 is actually really useful here if you're eating it since there's no real one shots here if you get out of the red
-Healers DPSing in p1 helps a lot since healing is minimal
This.
My last win went as such: Kill order in P1 was PLD > BLM > WHM > RNG > BRD > THF > WAR
Cool thing to do is to leave the '1' on the BRD and remove marks from the remaining moogles before the end of P1
When P2 hits, the BRD is already marked, main tank grabs aggro and takes the pack away from our group. BRD is burned down while one stunner keeps tabs on BLM to interrupt flare. P2 Kill order went BRD > BLM > WHM > RNG > THF > WAR > PLD > King.
Your Mileage may vary, of course.
I feel that's way overly complicated. It's really just four steps:
1. Kill Bard, BLM and WHM moogles first (whatever your team feels is priority)
2. Stun BLM AOE attacks.
3. Kite King Mog while keeping everyone else away
4. Esuna confusion
Everything else is basic boss mechanics.
learn how to kite on part 2 one tank kite the king, one tank kite the minis and kill one by one in the middle while the tank run around the edge.
In P2 we were at full life and after we killed 4 or 5 mog, an aoe (no ground mark) killed us all. Does anyone knows what that aoe is?
I was surprised at how easy this fight was. It seemed easier than Garuda. Myself and two friends queued up into DF and one shot it lol~
I know you guys says complete the main scenario but I did it and don't have the moogle thingie. I completed all quests and got my mount, watched the credits everything.
P1 you need to kill the moogles was fast as possible, at the end of P1 need to remain 1 or 2 moogles....if you ask why the reason for it is simple! At the begining of phase 2 when they summon the King, he will make an attack witch kind a the same as Titan befor heart phase ! The more mooogles are alive the more dmg it will make with this attack so it can 1hit kill you!
In P2 the Magician moogle needs to die first because it makes big aoe attack with with a lot of dmg, then i think needs to die the moogle with the sword and shield a i think he is the one who makes a pull atack witch also stuns you, after that the bard needs to die then healer!
With a aprty in DF we were until last moogle and king unfortunatly later one of the players got dc and the party was gone :(
I hope i helped a little bit !
We are tolking about the main scenario after the the credits, they added more with this patch, the story goes about moving the Company from walking sands from Uldah.....by making the quests you will get to the point where you are called in Gridania and help the moogles against the Moogle King !
Yeah, 1 tank holds king on perimeter, while other tank holds marauder and gladiator. The rest is killed based on order of party danger priority.
Things get WAY easier once bard charm and marauder draw in are mitigated, lol.
the fight is part of the main story so just do them and you'll get to it
It's basically just a matter of killing as many as possible to reduce the giant burst when they summon him and then keeping him away from the group while you deal with adds in whatever order threatens your group the most.
the king seems to just be a big tank that does instant aoe's around himself
bard charms party members
white mage heals
black mage does a really huge aoe around himself
the archer marks targets then shoots them for a fairly hard hit
the warrior basically holmgangs people
not entirely sure what the paladin and thief do though they seem less noticable than the rest other than the paladin melees fairly hard
