Free World Transfer for new Characters on Legacy Servers. Can we Please have it?

I think New Characters That were made on Legacy Servers should get a Free World Transfer to a new Non-Legacy Server. This is about housing.

When I started the game I had a few friend on Excalibur so I started with them. I got to 50 very fast, And lets just say because of weekly lockouts friendships are not the same. When the World Transfer service opened we were not allowed to leave to a non legacy. And I was to far in the game to restart on a new server.

Not speaking for all new characters on my server. But I feel like we are getting shafted on the housing prices because we rolled on a Legacy server. Not everyone on Legacy Server is rolling in million and millions of Gil.

I have a Small FC which consist of 4 people all Family, Two are less than a few weeks old (characters). I don't think its fair to invite players for their Gil to get a house, And I don't want to do it to take advantage of other for a small house. My plan for the last month or so was to save up around 3-5mil and buy a small house. That will never happen on Excalibur server unless things change. Its not so simple as making 20k a day. I have IRL responsibilities to keep me from playing everyday.


Please allow Free World Transfers for new Characters like you did when the service 1st opened, But only for New Characters on Legacy Please.

If I knew this when I 1st started would have never rolled on a Legacy server.

I did try to Transfer off of Legacy, But they wouldn't allow us to even for a new account. They gave everyone a free transfer for the 1st few days the service was open. So I don't see the problem with them giving us a free Transfer for a few days after they open up the Transfers off of Legacy. Its not like I'm saying Free transfer forever for every new Character ever made just the 1st few days when they do open up the transfer for us. Same thing as before.

You would change your character's server just because the FC housing prices were high? All because of this insignificant novelty feature? Why not just make a linkshell for your family and merge with a big FC?

Also why the hell would Square-Enix make the transfer service free for you because of this trifling matter?

see this will never happen as while you may be new and all legit, many people would make new char on legacy, pass all their 1.0 gil (max can come with, rest to expensive items) and bring it to the new servers and mess up the balance. Until things even out no one from a legacy can move because some people would take advantage of it and mess everything up. Purchases of FC housing will do a big step in letting severs gil even out and allow for the legacy/new server distinction to go away. You know they want everything to even out before PS4 release, and housing is forcing this to happen.

Gonna be honest, my thoughts on the Housing pricing/situation aside, it is a bit silly for you to be wanting to transfer due to a Legacy servers economy this late in the game.

You should have known better coming into it that you were coming into a different environment as opposed to starting fresh with everyone else on a new server, this kind of stuff is liable to happen.

I'd be ok with this....

Simply because it'd get this guy off my server.

The sad fact at the moment is that new accounts created on Legacy world have been deemed 'acceptable collateral damage' by Square-Enix.

For whatever reason, they have decided to penalize people who have made gil by playing their game, especially Legacy players from 1.0. In SE's haste to punish these people for playing their game and acquiring gil, new characters on these worlds are going to have to take it on the chin. Sorry . . . to paraphrase the Templar from The Last Crusade, you chose . . . poorly. (According to SE.)

But don't worry! Yoshi has you covered. He just said today, that in consideration of your plight, "at some point in the future", they might reduce the cost of "the lowest tier of houses" according to some vague considerations.

So you're golden! Just wait around with your thumb up your butt for whatever scraps they decide to toss down from on high!

Anyway, I'm inclined to agree with the OP. I know the feeling, and it's bull shit. The fuck I gotta pay THAT much more than other players because of my current server, despite not even being a legacy player.

I agree with the OP. One of my friends and I played v1 at launch for a month and then quit. When we got in the beta we were super excited to be able to save ourselves a few levels by playing our Legacy characters. Never did it cross our minds that playing on the Legacy servers would change the price of housing, so we ended up convincing about 12 people to buy the game and roll and chars on our server to play with us. Now, I feel like we really screwed them over for maybe saving ourselves 40 hours of grinding each. If you could give the non-Legacies a transfer off the server, me and him would gladly re-roll new chars. As it sits now, I feel really bad about the whole affair and wish I could make it up to my friends.

Not sure why people are slamming the OP. She's being punished for playing on a server with friends on a Legacy server then expected to shell out 40 million for a fucking FC house for her small rp guild. It's crap.

Not being able to empathize with her situation is just, really gross of this community. It doesn't have to affect you to put yourself in her situation for crying out loud. Was the FF community always this awful?

Though SE did try and help by slashing the overall total of gil by 90%, the relative wealth of the players who took advantage of the opportunities in vanilla FFXIV still created a vast gulf between them and those who would try and start fresh. The risks of something like this happening with any content that involved gil were written on the wall, and while it is unfortunate that SE did not think of a better way to implement housing (since it was primarily seen as vanity feature for those who feel that it would enhance their immersion/enjoyment in Eorzea rather than the blindsiding monolith of effort it is turning out to be), it is a possible ramification that comes with the territory.

They slashed it by 90% not 10%

There would be legacy -> non-legacy transfer after enough gil got removed from the legacy servers.
SE speed up the progress with 2.1

Some economic ramifications were probably anticipated. Some.

However, there is a vast difference between 'some economic ramifications' and having to pay 5 times what the lowest priced server would for housing. 4 million is doable, 20 million, not so much ^^

I actually think they may open a free world transfer someday, just because legacy servers were not able to use the free world transfers everyone else got a few months ago.
