3D Printed Avatars? Yes thank you please.

This is my official request for SE to offer 3D Printed Avatars through FigurePrints or other 3D Printing companies.

i remember long ago i posted it in 1.0 forum :) yeah i want a 3D Printed Avatars of my character :D

But it won't ever happen. Never. I know it won't. Square-Enix don't make smart decisions.

I've commisioned my character to an artist friend, it'll be ready in about a month. Can't wait to see the figure :)

You just need a FFXIV:ARR modelviewer that extracts and exports 3D meshes, you can easily make your own.

The only modelviewer I know of is the one at XIVmodels, but it's useless with no option to export the mesh.

I own a Figureprint of my character from another MMORPG.

Its so awesome...I even got to pick what clothing she wore and weapons she carried in her hands. Naturally, I dressed her up in biergarten outfit and put brew mugs in her hands, to immortalize her in her drunken glory. One of my guild members had his warrior type tank character posed carrying nothing but an ax and wearing a manly thong, another had his dressed up as Santa Claus. The figures themselves were well done and they looked either really cool or hilarious depending on how you dressed them.

I'd have no problem purchasing one of my FF14 character either if it was done by the same company with the same level of detail.

Are you talking about doing it yourself on Shapeways?

The only thing I would think would be difficult is that I think they require the model to be hollow to print... so you might have to know something about 3D modeling software to adjust the polygons accordingly.

I'm in agreement with pretty much everyone here, in that this is an excellent idea. I would love to have a 3d character model of my "toon", and not only that but I would also pay a pretty penny for one. Sqeenix should jump all over this, I'm sorry but that idea is a friggin cash generator in the making.

I also request the ability to print your avatar on their Mount.

Agree that would be amazing.

Would love this. Especially since mines is an adorable loveable hugable lalafell.

You would figure every major MMO would have this in use already. It's a fantastic way to monetize the project with very little development time.

Maybe next year they will have it ready for the holidays, eh?

i would definitely go for this, or just plain figmas of our characters would be amazing!

They need to do this, but only after they add vanity slots. That way you'll be assured your character looks exactly the way you want.

I would definitely buy at least a couple of these. One for my desk at home, one for my desk at work, one for my car's rear view mirror so everyone knows how much of a bamf I am at an MMORPG as I drive by. Ladies dig it.

Really they could even include something like an entire team vs a Primal.

So much want.

Rather than a 3D printer, I may soon be doing something similar with a CNC machine with lathe attachment for 4D cutting. Want something more solid than cheap print plastic.

I can print these up i just need a file. I work in R&D for a 3D printing machine manufacturer and have unlimited access to 3D printers. All I would need is files.
