He meant the non +1 versions of the relic weapons. They are now equal to the Titan Hard mode items.

The item level of the following gear has been changed, and their parameters revised accordingly:

Nah, you're wrong. The item levels for Titan weapons increased to i80. For example, the bow of crags, is essentially better than the relic bow, due to the addition of determination and attack/AA damage increase.

The weapons that drop from HM titan are as good as the relics, as they should be.

yea.. so all that work you do to get a relic.. just went out the window when you can clear dam near most of the content w/o the +1 (or zenith now). so kinda sucks..

Makes sense because previously you got the relic and didn't give a crap about the Titan weapons.. and at the point you could get one relic you could get any you wanted after that, which meant they were useless

you can upgrade the relic, you cannot upgrade titan weapon
pretty sure you will need this relic zenith for future upgrade

Most Philosophy relics will still be slightly better than Titan's weapons, why? Because they are purple.

Just compare the level 70 greens to the blue ones, without Materia melded, the blue ones are normally better. And weapons, so far, do not have Materia slots.

Some might be chosen over the other depending on the stats, but overall, the normal philosophy relic should be slightly better.

So I wasted countless hours of my life for something meaningless now

well now its kinda points less to get relic unless you want the glow.. basicly you can farm titan weap.. from there can hit extreame mode primals and get that weap ( since ifrit being the hardest is ilvl67 -.-) and then just farm coil for the allagan 1.. complete waste of time to farm relic till a new upgrade is released..

may be
1hr for Chimera + Hydra
1hr for AK
2hr for Ifrit + Garuda + Titan
9 WP Speed Run (3hrs ?) for Item to upgrade

That's not countless hours...

Another 21 WP Speed Run ( 7hrs ? ) for +1 item.

Still not countless...
it's less than 1.5days for one relic+1 to be completed.
(Compare to 1st Year of FF11 to make 1 relic, it's almost 1 to 2 years of none stop farm.)

And +1 is not going to waste, you used it for easier BC runs... (dmg wise)

Just this 300 Mytho capped made you feels like countless, in fact, it's not.

Few things:

1.) Neither Titan nor NQ Relic are BiS for any class.
2.) +1 Relic, for most classes, is better than Titan by miles.
3.) EX Primal weps, for some classes, are better still.
4.) Allagan weapons, for most classes, are even better still.

So getting your Titan weapon is essentially worthless unless it drops on your first run of Titan. Relic and +1 are far superior, and if you don't want to +1 your Relic you can go through the EX Primal quest and get an ilvl 90 weapon for free with your NQ Relic.
