Thanks for the information.
However, I'm quite shocked. All of the level 90 Accessories from the Primals (as well as the new iLvL 90 Sword) have amazingly horrible stat choices. It's so bad we can't even replace one of our rings. And this new i90 Sword is not only worse then Relic+1; it's practically worse than Relic+0 (extremely odd stats choices for a weapon that's supposed to be harder to obtain than Relic+1.) This Primal gear is "worst in slot" for almost every single piece, but it's never best in slot.
New Level 90 Gear
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sword: Break Blade - Strength, Vitality, Critical Hit Rate and Skill Speed
Neck: None (Probably Leviathan)
Ear: Tremor Earrings of Fending - Vitality, Accuracy, Determination (Better than Skill Speed at least)
Wrist: Inferno Bangle of Fending: Vitality, Parry, Skill Speed
Ring: Vortex Ring of Fending - Vitality, Critical Hit Rate and Determination
A ring with no Parry or Accuracy? Seriously? If I want to do "Max Deeps" I can use Striking accessories. Critical Hit Rate and Skill Speed don't belong on on Fending gear.
I'm clearly talking about Paladin in my entire post.
Still only the 1 black mage shield, ancient buckler thing. No idea where it comes from yet but I guess we can assume crystal tower?
There's a few new good pieces for healers as well. Hell, even some of the PvP items look to be better some PvE items.
Not all secondary stats are worth stacking. For some of the PvP gear, the secondary stat that it does have has a bit more than the PvE equivalent. So there's some theorycrafting to be had and like the poster above said, the scholar book looks interesting for those scholars that are interested in maximizing their crit.
Bad for scholars, but some whms who like spellspeed could be rejoicing right now.
All the new gear gives people options for gear sets they find are more optimal for their play style, not necesarily BiS.
Losing the Accuracy from our +1 would be pretty hard to make up
Thanks for this. Now to determine how much Morale a full pvp set will grant a player.
Just curious.. i only see two sets of pvp gear.. is the animalistic armor not in this patch?
Those ACN Books don't look to happy about being added.
Frontlines?
Looks like SMN/BLM have a new BiS earring though
Yeah, the Elfin Bow looks awesome. Glad it got DET and CRIT. Awesome, the AA is lower but so is the delay. I won't cry every week I don't get my allagan bow. 7th week coming ><
So undecided on what to get first when I beat the EMs. The Elder Staff, Holy Lance, Omnitome, and Hellish Claws all have my name on them. That's also ignoring the new caster accessories that all have ACC on them.
Elder Staff looks sweet!
Seems like I only need to get the i90 ring, everything else is Allagan (or already have allagan of it)
Also for the people reading the broken english patch notes and thinking "wtf this only has DET+1 now?!?!?!", you can finally check those pieces and see it was mostly mistranslation
What, might I ask, would be the point of releasing new gear with the same stats as current gear? Having all those pieces might not be a good choice, but having more options to find the optimal gear setup is a good thing. I'm not sure how pld is on accuracy with the current gear, but drg can get well over the accuracy cap and I welcome gear without it.
Not really, replace AF2 legs with Allagan Legs and you lose 10 Crit but gain 34 Acc which makes up for the Acc loss on Zenith bow, if you really need a little extra acc you can switch out AF2 head for Allagan head also, which I don't think is needed tho(forget exact numbers you'll end up on).
Current BiS = 485 Acc & 549 Crit
Change to Allagan Legs = 482 Acc & 576 Crit
New bow and Allagan legs clearly wins by an insane margin.
With all these new accessories and weapons, and the new possible combinations, plus some of the allagan gear changes, running the Coil of Bahamut is really only worth it anymore for the i95 weapons.
All that acc on the casting accessories. I guess this is how SMN is supposed to make up for the loss of acc on allagan boots.
I was thinking more like, if we can get acc from new accessories then we might not have to use myth boots. The earring is good, the ring has acc on it (to replace astral), and the myth boots have spell speed for the second stat. If we can cap acc elsewhere, there would be no reason to use myth boots over allagan.
But then, the hero's ring has crit on it and the primal ring could easily replace allagan instead. And the new allagan boots are still quite poor. I guess I should let smarter people do the actual math instead of posting wishful thinking.
