Myth tokens...?
Now i need DEFEND SE... if their not do this, ALL jobs will get lv 80 equips very easy... this will destroy any DP equip very fast ^^ and later peoples will say "there is nothing to do in this game" because their rush the things. We need remember there is HARDCORE and CASUAL players... if their make it"free loot without restriction" HARDCORE players will be FULL CT gear while casual players just have 1-2 pieces per week. Now we have DL,MYTHO,COIL and CT gears ^^ feel free to farm.
Takes a couple of hours and even though AK is 30, WP wasn't reduced I believe and people will still run those and cap out myth tomes - So...yeah what does stop people from running CT after their 1 loot a week? It's all good wanting to help people, but you help your 1-7 other friends and have to deal with 16 strangers.
Absolutely nothing.
If you mean at the end you mean after 1 boss dies then yes whats stoping people from leaving isnt there 4-5 bosses in CT so say you kill first boss and win something whats keeping you around for the other 3-4 bosses?
Becasue you just know with 16 other people not everyone will stay after they win something
Perhaps the treasure coffers are only awarded at the end of CT?
The examples they give always say "you defeat a boss and a coffer appears", so I think it's safe to assume that each boss will immediately drop a coffer for each full party.
I guess the first week or two there may be a lot of people in for the freshmeatbosses who stay till the end. Otherwise people who have BC static will have no reason to stay once they have their loot for the week.
If Crystal Tower really is as easy as they say, it's probably better to have static BC teams break up and each join CT solo. This way they can each drop out after getting their loot. If a full static join as one, then not only will they be fighting against each other (i.e. it will take at least 2 full runs for the whole static team to each get a drop), they will also have to wait for the other parties to replace people.
Once everyone's done a solo join in CT, then they all get together and join as one party, because then only part of them need loot, which now makes a premade static more efficient than joining solo.
...just wondering out loud. Hope I'm wrong about this. O.Oa
Nothing. But isn't CT set up similarly to Coils? Where you have different sections and only get awarded loot a the end of a section - boss fight?
I was under the impression that CT required a premade group of 8. I'm assuming you'll either know the person or he will get blacklisted and spread fast if it's someone from your group (At least if it requires a premade)
CT is DF. Also people are slightly wrong there, loot locked only activate once you won a loot at each boss. E.g first boss you don't win the loot, you still get your chance on another run at that boss. You are only locked out until you win something at each boss, for that boss only.
At least it's not locked out like Coil. What is to stop people from dropping in Coil once they receive loot? Well, they can't even get in!
From 2.1 Patch notes on lodestone. Sounds like a single item for the entire run. Or was it said otherwise in the live letter?
Rewards in the Crystal Tower
You can receive only one reward item per week for completing duties in the Cystal Tower. In the event you are awarded an item from the loot list, you relinquish your right to vie for all remaining items regardless of whether you selected Need or Greed. In the event the time permitted in the instanced dungeon has expired, and a reward item is obtained automatically, this will also count toward the weekly one-reward limit.
* Reward eligibility is reset every Tuesday at midnight (JST).
P.S.: Do NOT forget to pass if you don't want something. (Bolded)
The final boss drops 50 myth tomes, so that's pretty significant. Also, the penalty for leaving dungeons early is now 30 minutes which will deter people from leaving. Personally, I have run CT a few times already today and have not noticed anyone leave early.
WoW's LFR when it first launched was like this too... after a few weeks people just AFK through it.
I think it's worse in the case of the Crystal Tower since it encourages people to run it over and over for their drop. I'm lucky that I got what I wanted on the first run. Because doing it too much in a single week would burn me out of it.
Am I missing something? There is a check-box in the Duty Finder that allows players to join parties that are already in progress. It's nothing new. If someone gets their loot and drops out of the party, then you simply pick up somebody else and keep going. If nobody in the queue has checked that option in the Duty Finder, then ask a FC or LS buddy to check the box and queue up. Few people will turn down a shortcut to 50 quick myth tomes, especially if they get to help a friend in need at the same time. Most will love you and jump at the opportunity if you let them know about it. Where's the problem?
I hate that it punished for greed. Monk Fists drop, no monks, but three people have a monk alt, and all have to see it burn to get the item they want. Really cruel, and I estimate a lot of items will burn this way. Fun mechanic.
Actually the second to last boss awards myth tomes, for whatever stupid reason. I have cleared CT already, and I was a little confused when that happened. Also, its just the first day, people leaving early probably won't be an issue this early on.
There really are no junk mobs to kill your way through in CT, so there are essentially several boss fights, then you get loot after each one.
Honestly the OPs concern is valid considering the length of time the run takes, if some one gets something from the first or second drop it is not unreasonable to think some people with just drop.
The "One loot item per week" thing is just retarded for this reason and also because its not like its even the best gear in the game anyways. The amount of myth tomes awarded for the time spent isn't enough to make a person stay either.
2.1 delivered no "new" content to further the progression past Turn 5, so I guess SE thinks this will keep players grinding through CT longer for vanity, at least.
Seems like they live in an alternate dimension where people don't get bored for some reason. Ever.
I've seen similar threads in the past few days leading up to the release of the patch, and while I believed that they were going to provide all four chests for each party at the end of the instance, the fact is that each boss drops a chest right after completion. I knew something was fishy when one of our DPS asked everyone else to pass DRG stuff for him (he was on Dragoon and the only one in the party, anyway??), but when the first chest popped, BRD boots appeared. He greeded them, it dropped to him, he vanished.
Yay, players have made several threads about this issue. Loot locking " casual content" is retarded. And yes, players will continue up to leave the duty because they have no attachment to other players in CT because SE forces players to pug. SE needs to do something, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Well just be told to deal with it for 3 months like housing.
Is crystal tower beatable if you lose team members? If so, how much of your party and alliance needs to stay to beat it?
I have yet to do CT. My friend however ran it last night and sounded pretty upset with it. According to him, chests spawn after each boss kill. There are multiple bosses. Also on reddit they are talking about how people will get vote kicked so their friends get certain drops.
Edit: Apparently you are able to replace members that left. >___>
Sigh, Im so glad they put in vote kick, something that was really needed, only for douchebags to find a way to use it to be, well douchebags... This is why we cant have nice things!
One item drops after each boss fight.
This does concern me in the fact that if I DF this, I have to hope that the 23 other people will be legit and not just leave after they get a loot or drop out because a boss didn't drop what they needed. This is going to be a likely scenario. Say someone is looking for an item that drops on the first boss, it doesn't drop. He simply disbands the party, wait however long the lockout is for dropping out, then re-queue.
In short, it is a system that can be heavily abused right now and there do need to be some adjustments. Hopefully people will use the "Party in Progress" tab to counter balance this. We will see how this plays out.
I don't know about him, but I would since I'd only do the Crystal Tower when I wanted to.
Right now, we're 'forced' to run it every week, multiple times, to get a specific drop and not waste the week. Without lockouts, we could greed stuff, need something else that we wanted (but it's not priority), and so on.
People without self control could get bored, but we shouldn't be trying to force them to stay, as they'd get bored and leave anyway.
Crystal Tower is pretty fun...... But having to get paired with 23 other players that know how to read is the problem. Each boss drops 3 coffers one fore each alliance a/b/c.
There' a few mini bosses/fights otw to each. After running the dungeon only once which only took 100mins+ Cause people Cant READ! I really don't want to do it again.
So to answer the OP no there is nothing stopping people from leaving. And if anyone thinks the 50 Myth Tomes at the end will you're wrong. AK only drops 30 myth now but you can run 3-4 of those in the time it takes to do 1 CT run.
After you beat CT for the story question, there is no reason to run it once you get your loot for the week. Not one single reason outside of boredom. I'd rather farm the new dungeons that also drop 50 myth - they're faster.
