A reminder to you SE

I understand the war you wage with RMT. It is a noble effort but if I had a disease. the way to cure it? Shoot myself in the face. Cured.

Just be careful and remember that we are paying customers. You need to strike a balance between your RMT war and where you send the bulk of us who are game wise. oblivious to these aspects outside being tell spammed to hell and back.

I'm part of a 40 man FC half are active and not alts and housing isn't in the cards. It's non content for us. You guys really need to take a step back and ask if this is about fun anymore.

If for any reason I am off base, by all means have an SE rep say so. I can unsub and leave you to your entropic dream.

The tone in the post was not "entitled." It was confrontational. Just because you disagree with a post does not make it "entitled."

I have a sneaking suspicion this whole thing with the exaggerated FC housing prices is in fact a deliberate sting operation by SE to catch both RMT and gilbuyers in one stroke. Or maybe my catnip-fuelled paranoia is kicking in again. :P

You bring up a good idea I would like to share with our overlords.

Make us pay Gil to start threads. You can justify it through RMT. Don't worry too much about detail. It's just a nuisance factor.

And it won't impact me. Since 2010 I've started a total of 16 threads. I seldom do but every now and then they kick dirt in my face and I do.

It is possible but from the /tells its really expensive to buy gil. Getting the 625million by ENT would be ridiculously expensive.

I don't condone RMT at all, but think about it: the smart game is to wait (that's lame BTW), which anyone sane that has game-centric reasons to value their gil will likely do, in theory.

But, again in theory, the waiting for the prices to go down only works if buying is happening.

So who's buying, then? People with no game-centric reason to value their gil. People that whip out their credit card. Impatience powers the entire RMT stratosphere in timesink games like MMORPGs.

She's not crazy. She may very well be right.

An FC with 500 Legacy players, legacy players that farmed Gil for the entire 2 years that the game was free could do a large house and I'm sure they will. The question is, how much content is going to be directed at the top 1%

EXACTLY! This is a very telling, very disturbing statement so early in the game as to create "should I invest or not" impressions. I immediately downgraded to entry subscription upon reading the housing prices, because of this exact logic! I want a world to live in, not compete in.

I feel it is only fair that I address your OP directly, seeing as I contributed to somewhat of a derailment.

I agree with your sentiment on the grounds that the housing prices are a direct reflection from the devs as to how much gil we "should" have, and thus how much our time, purchased with a subscription, is worth. Telling your FC, for example, that you don't spend enough time in game to have the money to access this feature at its inception is just unacceptable, as you've presented it. The most generous donations being put forward in my much smaller, very friendly FC were upwards of 125k. Our server's housing starts at 8mil. That's telling our FC that we're just not enough of an FC to even think of a house. That's ridiculous, and disrespectful.

You guys are blowing a storm in a cup of water.

If you were a FC with new players on a Legacy server, you might have a reason to complain (though I imagine that Legacy servers have more gil in circulation on the MB), but on a new server its not THAT hard to get the crappiest house.

Our FC is small and we already have enough gil for a small house (on Phoenix). Just keep your pants on instead of whining that you can't buy the biggest house on the server right off the bat.

I found a screenshot of all SE white knights They are so happy for 2.1 they had a kool-aid party.

Before they all collapsed they were yelling "Yaaaay we farmed gil for 2 months only to realize our time wasted because we will have nowhere near enough YAAAAAYYY We leveled most jobs on one character to get locked out of coil on it and not get gear for weeks YAAAAYYYYY THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SE! The only thing I've been doing in the game is leveling and I haven't actually dedicated myself to farming a thing, yet I have 1.2 mil. Individual players in my FC have donated 2.5 mil towards the housing fund. Do we have enough money to buy a large plot of land? Nope. But the leaders have already decided to keep on accumulating gil and see how plot prices fall.

This is reality: you guys didn't put ANY effort into actually saving up gil, that's why you can't buy a house.

If SE sees that no one is buying land, they'll adjust the prices just like how they adjusted repair fees. Until then, keep your pants on instead of demanding everything NOW NOW NOW.

I don't know, maybe I'm spoiled by RIFT, but is it spoiling to treat your local superheroes like something more than homeless bums that have to "earn it" to be otherwise? To let players express themselves through housing? These prices are an ungodly imposition upon existing FCs. No one should have to hand over this much gil for a shared project, and the shelf for housing should not be this high. I have never, ever known any MMORPG to place their housing features, FC/guild or otherwise, on such a ridiculous, imposing shelf!

If you don't want to play the game, the door is that way. SE has said that they will monitor the prices of the housing, and they have been good at listening to player feed back so far.

There's the door. There are DOZENS of other mmorpgs out there you can go spew your QQ over because you don't agree with something the developers have done.

Dude, like I mentioned already, my FC actually already has the gil for a small house and we have like 15 active members. Another FC on our server (with more members of course) has 30 mil for their housing fund. I have 1.2 mil without actually making any kind of effort to actually farm. Getting the cheapest house isn't hard, the people complaining in this topic just aren't willing to make any kind of effort to accrue gil.

You know what my guild leaders said when they saw the price of the large plots of land and compared it to our now measly 6.5 mil fund? They said "If we actually focus on it we can get enough gil for a large plot of land in a month or two. It gives us something to work for." Compare that to this guy:

Its very possible that we might end up just settling on a smaller house, and if SE later on reduces housing fees all the better for us, but the bar for the smaller plots of land isn't anywhere near as high to justify the whining in this thread.

The Large houses? Sure. Those aren't accessible to everyone, but I don't see a problem with rewarding FC's that accumulate gil compared to the ones that refuse to make an effort.

Maybe somewhere along the line SE will provide wellfare housing to the adventurers that can't make any gil.

We farmed for 2 months. We farmed fleece crafted HQ mats to sell and saved as best we could. I also farmed titan heart, garuda feather, and ifrit horn. So go bend over stick it in your mouth and choke.
