By running away. I have a feeling that while characters are in motion you won't be able to hit them, unlike world of warcraft. There are practically no snares in this game.

Equanimity skill. Surecast. Beein protected by a bard / knockback by something if the paladin in front don't have the knockback imunity on (since not a single skill prevent of knockback apart that). You know, teamwork !
Gonna enjoy picking on casters on my bard.
Healers were already going to be first targeted, the 100% interrupt even with Equanimity (10 seconds) is brutal:

I don't think the interruption will happen with equanimity. Well let's wait and see :D

Work with your teams tank and have them stun / pacify / pull melee dps off you.
Keep your distance as much as possible.
1v1 situations will be pretty interesting. I hope they add "reduce chance of being interrupted" materia / items
Another reason to not pvp on BLM
So, what you're saying is casters will get 1 attack every 30 seconds or so, with a bonus 10 second window of attack time every 300 seconds. Oh, and I guess theres swiftcast, so theres an extra attack every 60 seconds.
Not to mention that casters, as usual, have to stand still and don't get sprint. Oh, nor the fact that LOS is still a thing so enemies can just keep running through the caster until the surecast/equanimity times out. Yup, not imba in the least.

So, based on what I've seen w/ this, instead of moving BLM away from sleep fo a legitimate PvP experience, SE has made it the central role. Black Mage will open w/ sleep, party will focus down an enemy in first 10 seconds, then enemy party murders BLM.
Probably an over simplification, but as it stands it feels like that what it will boil down to.
In other news, SMN will now be a PvE outcast (no thunder for crappy DOT reduction) and a PvP superstar (summon pet -> bio, bio, bio -> RUN LIKE HELL; swiftcast+blizz II for aoe bind if someone catches up).
SE PVP "Lets melee in the centre, and try to kill the PLD first."
Player PVP : "KILL THE CASTERS FIRST"
Why are you blind to this SE?
New WHM PVP strat: Start running > Divine Seal > Regen x4 > Swiftcast/Surecast > Medica 2/single target heal
I mean, seriously? Why not just remove almost anything with a cast time, it'd have almost the same effect.
Long ass cooldown on pretty much all of the PvP exclusive skills. Weapon Throw included.
Also, I'm pretty sure every caster will find some time to get casts off. It's all part of the strategy. If more than one enemy is bothering you, then one of your teammates is exercising plenty of freedom.
We'll see what strategies develop int he arena.
bards damage is depended by distance too .. if u run around pillar i think their damage is really low and they need high distance .. casters can also do low instant damage too like scathe/ruin/bio/miasma2 and if ur team mates sit on ur healer u can freely cast bind and sleep effects and support ur healer
It seems SE has some pretty bad Q&A testers
