Premade PvP teams must have tank/healer/dps? (Patch preview)

"When registering alone or with a premade party, team composition must adhere to the requirements of one tank, one healer, and two DPS."

From the patch preview. So if I form a party of four i'm still stuck in the tank/healer/dps/dps party composition? I thought it was said that we could use any composition we wanted if we went with a premade.

I figured it would be like this and I am actually happy to see it. If this is true, that is.

Huh... interesting.. Might mistype? I remember them saying we can set up whatever we want for premade.
But perhaps they mean when you que with 2 people not full group, that it have to follow the set up? Since it did said "1-3" Number of Participants ?

Probably to prevent people just class stacking in arenas and make the fights more balanced. Can't say I'm that bothered personally.

If you make a full premade 4 (that doesn't apply to the 1,1,2 ratio) you will ONLY be paired against those that follow your same methodology of not conforming. This was said in the PREVIOUS Live Letter.

well if that's the case I'm all for it


if they demand the party composition to be the 'norm' it would mean waiting forever for a pvp match to pop up, which can be quite frustrating

All baddies gonna need 2 heals ? was to be expected.

I remember this from the live letter too but the preview on the lodestone doesn't seem to mention this and I am a bit wary that they won't allow us to do freestyle matching for a while. I wouldn't expect much from this point.

You misunderstood.

Premades will be paired up against premades. DF PUGs vs PUGs.

Both must follow the standard party format.

I like it this way. Ensures all roles wil be wanted for PvP and prevents cheap-ish class stacking strategies.

Some teams might not want a tank in their group or they might only want 1 DPS. Square Enix is telling them no. You can't do that even though it's a premade.

I really don't get it.

I like it, clearly doing it to assist with balancing issues which is always a problem, especially in a series that has never done pvp.

HOWEVER, this everyone named "fresh meat" thing is ridiculous and needs to get changed
