Not confirmed yet, wait for patch notes.
Way to screw over non-legacy members on a legacy server SE.
More gil in circulation so I can see why but yeah double? That's a bit much.
This is going to seriously upset my whole FC, who were so looking forward to buying a FC house...
It's not any better for legacy players, at least the huge majority of them (us). None of the legacy members in our FC have that kind of gil.
Our FC saved 2M gil for the house and we were really to borrow a few millions more if needed. Anyone calling that kind of gil "chump change" lives in a completely different economy.
Not that surprising. I'm sitting on 24m right now and that's considered chump change to some of the high rollers in my FC. Combine early game crafting and Titan HM sales and you made off like a thief.
Yoshi probably saw the ingame data that some FCs have amassed well over 100m and decided to make them a premium at the start to try and drain some of the gil from the economy.
Coudn't care less about company housing. What a waste.
Oh dear, we were so looking forward to housing, I've been saving like mad but only have 1.2 mil.
If you thought fc housing was going to be chump change then that's your own fault along with everyone else in your fc that thought it would be cheap. This is for fcs only until 2.3+, plan better next time if literally no one in your fc knew how to abuse the market or you made a small fc thinking you could get a big house a cheap so everyone could mess with it.
It's not that expensive if you think this is for FC... let's say an average fc counts 20 members, it'll be 500k for each person.
If it is 4M for the cheapest (to start)...dang how much will the largest plots of land be....16M?????
meh I thought so, my FC, 8 people and we managed to donate around 5m together to the FC bank. Sucks but you can't expect a money sink like lands to be cheap when there are FCs who sold over 300 Titan kills for at least 150k-200k per person, heck some are able to carry 3-4 players at the same time each for 150k-200k at least. This is not counting the legit crafters whom were able to dominate the market since day one, those guys are swimming in gil.
It did also say that the price will be reduced every 6 hours...
SE premoting RMT's again?
well not really, probliem is people are hoarding there Gil for Personal housing. Most FC's wont get much compared to what players have.
Also not many stay with the same FC long enough, so theres no point them making big donations!
So why is it based off Players Gil, rather than FC banks Gil?
Also on a side note theres very few ways to make GIL on Legacy servers due to all the undercutting. I'd assume Non-Legacy are starting to get like this to if not now then soon.
They need to have a re-think & fast before patch comes out!
***EDIT: does say pricing will be dropped every 6 hours.... But we know the DEV team pretty well to know the price drops wont make much of a dent.
did someone say RMT lmao
This cost can be shared throughout the FC. This is real estate, it should be kind costly. If you farm up Allagan and or Philo/Myth Gear most people don't need to spend much on the AH. This will prompt people to actually look into Crafting Gathering. Gil is largely useless on this game as of yesterday. Now it has some purpose.
Remember during the mass RMT ban where many innocent people were caught in the wave, and people just dismissed them and said there is no way you need tens of millions of gil and they should be banned for being greedy anyway?
They are now all thinking "I told you so".
It's too late for that, this is why people made money early because they know that the economy is deflationary in most online games at launch.
Titan runs dried up for our server weeks ago, I don't think I've done them once they dipped below 300k because I felt it wasn't worth my time. I honestly haven't even tried to make money for almost a month now and my bank is still slowly growing just from me selling off unwanted philo tome items.
It'll get cheaper I'm sure. I was expecting 1mil for the lowest price... but since this is for FCs then its not too unreachable assuming you belong to a medium + sized FC where people are willing to donate.
Still, guess it'll be a while till I see FC housing
I think Yoshida is overestimating how many players are willing to spend that much gil for housing even if they have it.
After I got my crafts geared out it took me 3 weeks to earn 5.5 mil gil. Most of my fc members don't focus on saving gil so most of them have like 100k. There's only one other member that crafts a lot, however intends to save her gil for player housing.
I wanted to buy at least a medium house, looks like we going to have to save for a bit.
you may want to read the translation here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1658282 legacy will be more expensive
But it doesn't say by how much it is reduced. If the drop is significant it may make me feel less disappointed, but for all we know it drops 1k every 6 hours.
remember it's a gil sink once all the rich players throw their gil into it the prices will drop accordingly then we will be able to get houses cheaper :) so don't worry to much plus that's cheapest there are even more expensive houses that will really blow their money away :P
8 mil gil for a house.

Agreed, crafting mainly made money from selling mats for other crafters to lvl up. Once people start maxing out their crafters the potential business goes out the window since not only are mats less needed, but the ones who lvled flood the market with 2star items.
I easily made 1m selling HQ woolen kecks back then, which is a leve turn in for weavers. People would buy them by the dozen and with your own fleece farmed that is 100k right there from a single person.
lol at all the people complaining about the pricing when they conveniently ignore the fact that it will drop every couple hours.
If you don't have the money, don't buy until the price drop.
If you can't buy land and house on patch day then too bad, wait for price to drop. Not like another housing instance isn't gonna open up if the first one is bought up.
