Can´t get the Rank 5 Subscription reward at the 2.1 release?

Dunno if it was just me who assumed you could get all the new Sub Rewards(Behemoth Mount, GC Leader minions etc) at the release of 2.1. If it isn´t the case then this thread doesnt matter. Otherwise please read on.

I went into the Mog Station and read this

"The subscription period can be extended to a maximum of 180 days per transaction.
Your 60-Day Game Time Card cannot be redeemed if your subscription has 120 days or more of remaining game time."

I got 33 days left now so I´m wondering if I now wouldn´t be able to get the Sub Rewards at the release of 2.1(should those rewards be released at that time)?

Can someone make this clear for me^^;

EDIT: Ok I can now clarify that this is as we all feared. I bought 3x 60-days Time Card and could only use two because after using two it said I had 149 days left which exceeds the 120 limit. I now have to wait 29 days to be able to use my 3rd card to reach the Rank 5 Reward.

O_O what??? i want to get the Rank 5 reward aswell! and i have 53 days left.....

If you pay with a time card to extend your sub to the relevant limit AND the new vet rewards are released then you should be able to get them.

If you pay by debit/credit card though then you'll have to wait until your current subscription period expires as the rewards are only credited to your account when you are charged.

Edit: Yeah actually even a time card is still limited to the 180 cap. Will have to wait until we're three months in before we can extend it enough to get the 6 month rewards.

FYI these are veteran rewards and I never liked how they were credited ahead of time anyway. It's nice to have them actually be... ya know, for veterans, rather than just players who spend money upfront.

Yep, same for me. SE managed to even screw up on something that trivial. Look forward to it (as many people realize that this corrat on the stick is a lie).

I wouldn't call it a "screw up"..more like getting more money out of you in the long run (they are a business afterall.)

I signed up for 180 days up front...it's going to be a while before I get to re-up my sub I think.

They don't get any more or less money out of someone who pays for, say, two 6 month sub periods in a row versus someone who paid one 6 month period and then, 6 months later, paid another. They'd actually benefit more from the former because they get their money right away. xD

To a max of 180.. Hm.. i had 90 Days Sub, have 3 days left. So if i renew my Sub for another 180 Days, that is a total of 270 Days and i will have them right at Patch-Day. Goes for several people in my FC.

So i guess the extended Free-Trial screwed up a certain amount of people. But still.. how have you 53 days left? If you did not join the Game at day 1 of its sub, then you will not get it at the same time as those who did. It is a "Veteran Reward", not a "who does pay the most days right away Reward". I do not mean that offensive, it is just that simple.. the Rewards started counting on day 1, so those who did start the sub at day 1 will get it. Those who started later, will get it later.

SE mentioned they are looking into longer Subs than 180 days, so that would solve the "Problem", if it would come with 2.1. After all it is not that big of a deal, after 270 days of sub you will get it.

Is there any official word on this that I missed and someone can direct to it?

and if not, can we get official word if those who prepaid for the 6 months ahead of time will still get the items as released or do we get penalized and have to wait until afterwards and a new charge is on the card? Seems odd that their system wouldn't know if someone has pre-paid 6 months.. 1,2,3,4,5,6.... and release the rewards according to the months pre-paid, since after all, they got the money anyways.

and yes, I am a veteran, been playing this since beta of 1.0, never missed a month in payment to them.

I am not 100% sure, but i believe you can renew your Sub at any Date with Gamecards. So if you renew your Sub with 90 more days, on top the 180 days you should get the Rewards on Patch-Day.

For those who have been billed for 60 days so far, having the 180 days hit on the 16th wont cut it. That bonus free time is messing with the veterans here.

So they are offering this super cool reward everyone wants, AND players are willing to shell out 4 months worth of subs to get it RIGHT NOW, only you can't get it right now.This promotion seems frustrating at best.

Can we get confirmation that the game card will extend your current subcription period past 180 days? Like if I go buy x4 game cards for 30 days, and activate them all right now, will that put me over 270 days?

How about this, I'll give you $100 and you give me the Behemoth Mount. SE, I want to give you my money!! Are you listening?

I don't get it. You don't have 120 or more days of remaining game time, so you shouldn't have an issue?

Game cards only give actual game time in EU. For NA players game cards give Crysta, and you can't pay more than 30 days with Crysta.

There does not seem to be any way at all to get the Behemoth mount on the 16th as an NA player.

Promotion works. Payment options don't.

honestly I think they should have based it on subscription days elapsed, then everyone would have gotten the rewards in the same amount of time. More waiting, but also more fair.

Isn't it a 180 day subscription reward? If so wouldn't those people get it as soon as it's released? Since they already did 180 days? Or is it a reward for longer than 180?

i think we're gonna get it in 2.1. cuz in mogstation it says that i should have received my rank 4 reward but i still havent gotten anything in my mail

Lame. I'd happily shell out for another 6-month sub right now to ensure delivery of vet rewards soonest.

I really don't get the confusion. when they first introduced the veteran rewards they specifically stated that as soon as you paid for a specific amount of time in a realm reborn you'd be getting the rewards for that time period.

NOWHERE does it state now that 'already paid' does not account for the newly released rewards (rank 5) so where the hell are you folks getting the idea from that people who paid for 180 days right away won't be getting those rewards right away?

1.0 is irrelevant in this calculation. only your ARR paid game time counts. (though you should be fine either way)

Using my sub as an example....

I'm up for renewal on Jan 15th. I only paid for 1 sub period so far, the 90 day one. Coupled with early access + 1.0 player time of a week or two (welcome back? I think it was called? also take into account the additional days because of server issues) + adding a ps3 code to my account (extra 30 days) puts me at Jan 15th. Now if you deduct 30 days from that (in my case let's use the ps3 code 30 days as the example) you'd be right around patch day for the 270 day reward. Of course this exact formula of subscription periods would only really apply to a returning 1.0 player who did not add a ps3 code to their account, and bought the 90 + another 180 in a few days. So yes it ispossible, but not for you sadly.

You'll get them in 33 days.

Game release: 8/27
Free month: 9/27 -- billing starts
Subscribe for 180 days -- receive up to 90-day veteran reward immediately
2.1 goes live: 12/17 -- receive up to 180-day veteran reward immediately
Next billing for 180-day subscribers: 3/27 -- those who subscribed for 180 days will need to subscribe for at least 90 days to receive the 270-day reward

Note that those who subscribed 180 days who had the free month (i.e. non-legacy) will have to wait until March next year to receive the 270-day reward. However, if they only subscribed 90 days, then their next billing is not at March 2014, but at Dec 2013, coinciding nicely with 2.1, so they can now subscribe for 180 days to get everything up to 270-day rewards in December.

TL;DR:

For non-legacy people who bought new package with 30-day "free" game time:
1. If you are currently on a 90-day subscription, about to expire, you can put down a 180 day subscription next, to get all the veteran rewards right then.
2. If you are currently on a 180-day subscription, you will get everything up to the 180-day veteran reward, but after that you will have to wait until next billing time. OR, you can put in additional game time via game cards, if you are able to get them.

Well I signed up for 90 days and my sub is coming due on January 3rd. So If I resub then for 180 days that will put me at 270...I guess I got lucky on the timing of that. I wish when using a credit card they would let you pay ahead and not have to wait until your current sub expires. Dang it!!!!

This is honestly kind of absurd. They offer loyalty rewards and people want to pay way, way, way in advance just to get the rewards NOW NOW NOW. That was sure quite the can of worms they opened...

Makes me wish they'd offer a lifetime sub so I would just immediately get all veteran rewards they ever think of.

I believe Yoshi said the sub payment options are retroactive, where he said it I can not find it. so those that subbed 180 from the start will at least get the reward for the 180 sub.

Now trying to get to 270 seems kind of silly if you ask me, not allowing people to add time whenever. Terrible business model.

Guess I'll have to wait til my 180 sub runs low for the 270 sub.

Personally that is bad, one should not have to wait 6-9 months to get their rewards, terrible terrible idea. It's a reward for "Loyalty". Overall I think its a great idea by giving people incentives to sign up for more than just one month at a time. All the other MMOs I have played, I'd usually pick the cheaper monthly option which usually meant going 3 or 6 months. But giving you something to sign up for, is better.

Yes, they haven't even added the files for those items in the game yet, I'm sure. They'll pop up in your mail once 2.1 comes live.

Terrible business model that they won't let you pay waaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead just so you can get your veteran rewards IMMEDIATELY NOW NOW NOW RIGHT NOW? I'm sorry, I just think it's more than a little silly that people are actually getting upset over free bonus items.

I personally would have been fine with this situation, were NA people ACTUALLY able to use "FFXIV official time cards" to extend their accounts to 270 days as of 2.1 launch.

EU and JP can, why not NA? It's bizarre that they region locked the time cards.

The argument isn't that we can't get the rewards, it is that some players can AND we can't.

I'd pay it. It was a selling perk for Star Trek Online when I went Lifetime over there. Any and all vet rewards that ever come out are instantly awarded to me.

I could care less about "now now now", but admittedly it was a nice perk for them getting my money as a customer. I paid for the time, they rewarded me for that time paid for XD

Why are you so angry or upset about this? If something is offered by the game designers what is wrong with the players wanting it? On another note....if you are paying for the time technically you are playing for that amount of time, it is not like we want something for nothing...we are paying and commiting to the game...it should be called a "LOYALTY REWARD" and not VETRAN maybe. If they never brough it up then no one would be coming to this point, but they did so players are naturally going to want it like they were promised and for the sub methods to mess this up is just frustrating. I am not angry...I will take them any time I can have them.

Example: I have subscribed for 180 days. The soonest I could acquire the rank 5 reward is 90 days into my subscription, and to do so I would have to cancel my 180-day recurring sub and replace it with a 90-day recurring. Personally, I find it a bit silly and annoying.

I wasn't 'misunderstanding' anything, I was replying to the posts that said/implied people who paid for a specific amount of time MORE than the rewards already in game would not have that EXTRA time counted for them, which SE stated is not the case.

considering I had the 2 weeks 1.0 extra and registered the ps3 version, I really don't need you telling me there's a 'problem' with getting the 270 days right away, I however also stated that I think that the VETERAN rewards should be handed out for actually being a veteran, and not for 'chunking out a lot of money at once'.

(ps: you're also talking to someone who went the 180 days route)

I guess I just thought ahead. I think the information was right on the mogstation home page when I first had to sub. "More veteran rewards will release with patch 2.1!!!" I saw that, and saw they only had rewards for 90 days at the time, so that's all I subbed for. I had a good feeling I would play longer than that, but at the time it didn't make much sense to sub for longer than that. I still got lucky, because I had no idea I couldn't just add more time whenever I wanted until I had already paid for the 3 months. I'll be able to get the 270-day reward in the beginning of January :D
