Question about Allagan ilvl95

So we all know that Allagan stuff is getting changed to ilvl95 when 2.1 hits. I just had one query that I can't seem to find an answer to.

Are the stats getting increased slightly to make them ilvl95?

or

Are the current stats staying the same, just being deemed 95 instead of 90 (essentially saying "oh they were under ilvl'd originally")?

If I missed the actual answer, my bad. Just wondering because it might change some BiS stuff if it's the former.

Assuming stats, or there would be no point to making it a 95

Their stats are getting increased, they obviously aren't "under ilvl'd" because they currently have the same stats as Relic +1.

Its only weapons that are getting the ilvl bump.

so there is no point for me to bother getting a relic weapon i guess.

This is exactly why I asked. Maybe the devs took a look at the current stats and decided "you know what, these should be 95 and not 90". Was hoping maybe someone had a concrete reply from a community rep I missed or something.

They're not EXACTLY the same and maybe because of that the devs took the outlook of my other point.

The ilvl of the Allagan weapons, I'm more than clear on. However, I am wondering about the new "quest" that utilizes the new "Extreme Mode Primals" to increase our relic weapons again. Are they going to be increased to ilvl 95 or ilvl100? I can't seem to find anyone here discussing this. I could be wrong about what I read in the Q&A but I'm pretty sure that this is what they were talking about. However, they never specifically gave an exact ilvl increase. I'm curious to know if our "Relic+2" will be the same level as Allagan or a slight increase over them. This will probably correlate between the difficulty of Twintania and the difficulty of Ifrit, Garuda and Titan EM. If Twintania is still deemed "harder" content then I can see the new +2 relic being the same item level. However, if the new extreme mode primals are summarily harder, I wonder if they will allow the upgrade to be better. Just food for thought...

I'd still get a relic+1 for the job you're going to use in turn 5 regardless, especially if you're just starting out on it. No point gimping yourself and the rest of your party every week for that 1/9 chance that you'll save yourself 3 (soon to be 2) weeks of mythology tomes.

Relic won't be upgradable anytime soon, the entire point of the Allagan buff was to make relics inferior because they were extremely easy to obtain and very common. What you recieve at the end of defeating all 3 primals is a choice i90 weapon, how you choose them still hasn't been made clear though. Yoshi did say however, relic weapons would be upgradable in the far future just for the fact that they are "special" to many players(assuming they will still be far inferior to endgame dungeon weapons). And no, shields aren't going to ilvl95 if I remember correctly.

Thanks for clearing that up.. That makes the 1-week lock-out on repeating the quest a lot more understandable.

I kinda wish that the other gear that drops in T5 (Monk's Allagan Cuirass of Striking, for example) would be distributed among the other four turns. It's understandable that the weapons are buffed because they come from Twintania, and yet that other stuff is just as hard to get. I don't think it should be buffed too, but it should be in a place that you can get to it if they feel beating Twintania should = better stuff and they didn't buff it.

I'm bumping this because I missed the live letter and the rate the threads move is madness today, making it hard to find what I'm looking for. I've seen several people say that my original question actually went the way I thought it might?

Is it in fact true that the weapons stats are staying the same just the ilvl is getting increased, nothing more?

From the live letter:

Q29: With the change in the item level for weapons from the Binding Coil of Bahamut will the stats also be changed?

A29: The weapons will only have their item level increase by five and the types of stats that exist won't be changed, but they will be increased. We will, however, be making adjustments to the types of stats on the armor that can be obtain in the Binding Coil of Bahamut.

The stats are still going up to reflect the higher ilvl. It's the type of stats that are staying the same. The translation is terrible on both the Q&A and the patch notes.
