Hey guys just promoting my Besitary system with a possible added integration of the materia system. Again showing us that we need timesinks in the game even if they are just for E-peen numbers.Quote:
Possible system
1: Each familly of monster has a Gauge to fill, as you kill monsters from X-familly "Must gain SP in the process" the gague will fill depending on the ammount of SP you gain. When the gague is full you can extract a materia from your bestiary or continue to stockpile points for better chances at HQ materia.
2: Gaining % completion in the bestiary rewards with a set type of materia befitting the work needed to reach such completion. IE: 10% gives you a +1 base state materia 50% gives +8 base stat. Could be any number of combinations.
3: Finishing a certain monster familly in the besitary rewards with a special materia that adds a damage bonus to ____familly of monsters. IE: 15% damage boost to Forgekin ext.
I think the materia system and bestiary combined would create a much needed time sink into the game.
These are all just suggestions within the thread and not a single cohesive plan, I just wish to give as much suggestions in the top post to get the topic flowing for the developers to read

I support(and have been supporting) the idea for a monster bestiary in any form whatsoever. The less trips to other websites to get information I need, the better.

This actually sounds interesting, would be a neat way to get some of the rare material or something and give people a task to accomplish that would take some real work. I vote on this idea.
I think 15% bonus is alittle strong, maby something like Attack + 20 or Accuracy+20 vs seedkin or something like that maby. -

I like this! A Bestiary would add to the "Final Fantasy" feel they are going for as almost all the FFs had one of sorts.

hmm, the Bestiary would also include the NMs and I believe it should say more than just "Crab" It would have each kind of crab listed under its species. Its like saying man there is only a laughable amount of creatures on Earth:
Spider
Cat
Dog
Elephant
Human
Whale
Shark
Insect

Of Course the bestiary should break down from familly into individual monsters prefereably I think at least each familly of monsters should have some sort of description as well.
Would be even more awesome if they did each mobs bio, but that might be asking a bit too much. -
