We all know OP is exaggerating. What he means is, it's pretty much bustling with people on Monday's and then the rest of week is dry.

I'm sorry but coil players do not represent 95% of the playerbase. The correct amount is closer to 5-10%.

95% is a completely made up number. You are making ridiculously wild assumptions based solely on your personal experience. At best you feel justified because the people you play with are in the same boat. News flash, those at endgame all working exclusively for coil and myth gear are in the minority and do not in any way constitute a supposed 95% of the community. That number is likely closer to a tenth of that value or less. Just because you hang out with like minded individuals and perceive most people to be just like you does not in anyway count as proof of the fact. You are in the minority.

If you look at people online at Monday compared to Thursday the numbers are greatly different. Even more so on legacy servers. Is OP exaggerating? Yes but he is correct that for a lot of people there is literally nothing to do. So go do some good somewhere else white knights, maybe you should go fight against child laborers in Malaysia.

Yup, we're also running with full Myth (including accesories!) and Relic +1. On every class. Because you can get from 1-50 in two days. And everyone knows that anyone who plays one hour a day can get full DL + Relic in a week. THERE'S NOTHING TO DO.

And I don't think they get gear every 3 months (in wow), I can't remember exacly how long do seasons last, but they get new gear every pvp season (which lasts about the same than a big patch with new gear release) so... I would estimate about 6 to 9 months? -shrug-

Didn't expect you guys to take 95 literally... Yeah not all jobs are 50. Playing most of the week may be right for everyone but in general all the work is done on Monday and the rest of the week is pretty much downtime.... Like I said not all jobs are 50 and geared out but this isn't 1.0.... It's not necessary right now. Yoshida's himself said there is no content nor will there be any that will require cross skills. Yeah I'm leveling all my jobs but it's not the rate in which you do your first 50. It's more like, fate grind 1-2 levels and afk half the day then maybe fate another level before logging off.

I think the salmon I just had was severely undercooked.

I am surprised, how does 2.1 affect the playstyle of an endgame coil group? Raiding on monday the specific turns, since you dont need Mytho Points or whatsoever its completely dry and if you start early enough, you can also take the extremes into one raid-day.
Oh yeah CT is also there, its good to run once for any achievements but for people, who arent equipping every single class, its a one time go and that was it probably :x

First off, assuming people have nothing to do is your own opinion. Even if you state that the forums has quite a few posts of players having nothing to do, we know for a fact that the forums is not used by the entire subscriber base and nor does it completely represent the entire subscriber base.

Secondly, insulting people who do not support opinions as facts based on your own opinion that has no evidence or little proof to support it is down right silly.

No one implied a player-base census.....

I reality this came out of asknig 10 people which days of the week do they play. and 9 people answer monday, with the last one being reluctant to reply and caving into saying monday under the sheer tearing preassure of the question, so it was counted as half a point.

And thus! The 95% of the player-base plays monday only, based on a statistical analysis of 10 players.

CT provides more Philo and Mytho. There will be new PHILO/MYTHO items in 2.1 as well as a reduction in Philo Cost for 2-Star Crafted Items.

Also, the Mythology Cap is raising from 300 to ~450+ in 2.1. Don't forget Pharos Sirius / HM Copperbell Mines & HM Haukke Manor for Collectors (probably have new minions, and the gear is probably usable in the Vanity System coming in 2.2).

In 2.2, CT will like have the 3rd Tomestone added to it, same with Turns 1-5, and the new Turn 6+. So no, I don't think CT will be 'Run it once' for Twintania Beaters, as it gives an alternate way to enjoy yourself and cap out your Mythology+.

What new phil/myth items are being added in 2.1?

If you only play for coil progression, sure you would only log in for that. I however, play for my FC friends as well. I help them level alts, or clear primals, or farm for gil, or craft, help them gear, and contribute in general to the FC and server community.

So: you tend to play more when you play not just for your own personal progression. That is how I look at it.

I'm really tired of this whole situation where people make sweeping statements about the game (ie. 95% of players only login on monday!) based on no facts other than loose observations, and then when people inevitably pop up and point out the ridiculousness of the statement we get called white nights. I'm sorry I don't agree with your assumptions, but that in no way shape or form makes those of us who use actual logical fact base analysis into White Knights. If I'm a white knight I'm a white knight for logic and common sense and I will fight assumptions and poor analysis at every turn. This has nothing to do with my stance on the game, and if people want to keep it that way then they need to learn to make better formed arguments. People also need to learn to disassociate opinions from fact. Such as the op.

That said I log in almost every day of the week and have been since launch. Know what I do? Make alt classes, go help FC members, try my hand at crafting, or level a chocobo. The fact is there are things to do, but you choose not to do them. Deal with that fact before you start bitching more about the lack of content. All you want is content that you personally want and you could care less about those people having fun doing everything else. The fact is there are thousands of players each day enjoying all that other content, and you are in a minority. An extremely vocal minority, but a minority none the less.

They haven't confirmed what they are yet, but they have said there will be more things to spend your Myth and Philo on. You'll probably need Philo or Myth Materials to craft some of the new Crafting recipes (hopefully not Myth...) and I thought I heard mention of I60-I70 Crafting gear... *shrug*

There will also likely be Furniture that is directly purchased with Philosophy Tomes (like there are minions that are Direct Purchases).

I don't think the number is quite that high.

There is a valid point that during the rest of the week it can get pretty quiet though. Sadly a high number of FC members don't login if it's not for coil. I'm bored of farming AK/WP for materials myself so I can't blame them.

Oh well, got Baldurs Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, that'll be fun.

I swear a lot of people on these forums just want to complain about ANYTHING.

OP was exaggerating and making a joke. It's even been stated on the forums. by quite a bit of people. that all they do is log in on Monday, hit cap, and go play something else. Are you all really that pissed at life?

Log in Monday Coil 1-4, try turn 5 a few times and log. Log in tuesday five WP runs and then see you next Monday. I don't even care about making gil anymore. Can't wait for the update to breathe some new life into the game.

That isn't hypocrisy. No where did I make an assertion of a specific number. In fact I use verbage that suggests I clearly don't know the real answer. Not me. I find it hard to even get through Coils, get alone cap on my myth. Doing the same thing all the time is so mind numbingly boring....but I have nothing else to do in the game and I want to gear up my other jobs, lol.

We don't have any recent numbers from SE as far as subscription levels go. We have mixed statements from both sides of the board on the forums.. neither of which is an adequate gauge as forums aren't really used by most the people playing the game. All anyone has to go on is personal experience in the game at this point and that's widely mixed as well. Jumping completely on either side of the fence is not statistically supported.

you're right though, we're in the minority.. most MMO players don't devour content as fast as the forums would have you think... just sucks having literally zero reason to log in for more than ~90 mins a week.

I'd kill for a merit system as robust as EQ's Alternate Advancement, or DAoC's Realm Abilities... some way to progress our characters other than the gear treadmill :\

2 weeks, sure. Then instead of clearing BCB in 60 mins, people will clear BCB, CT, and primals in 3 hours and still take the rest of the week off.

It's amazing how many people don't get that a MMORPG never has much content if you don't lose. The point of being good is so that you don't waste time wiping and can have time left to do other things, including playing other games. I really don't get the guys who seem to be bragging about how they clear some stuff in a short time and then complain about it. If you are actually good, you should've been doing that for years in every MMORPG that existed. There was never more than a day of worthwhile content to do in a given week if you're actually beating everything in a timely manner and that's hardly anything worth complaining about.

I don't have the link since I can't remember which letter he said it in, but Yoshi-p did say most players weren't to the coil yet. That's as close to absolute as anyone is going to get. Going based off that calling those coil players complaining about a lack of content a minority isn't an exaggeration nor a sign of any hypocrisy from me.
