Maybe it's just me but these adjustments SE is talking about the battle system and environment sound just tweaks to me.
I don't know but all that talk about overhauling and rebuilding got me waiting for proper jobs and environments with interesting designs.
I can't help but feel like a bit let down that the changes seem so small at least in writing.
How about you do these changes seem like an overhaul or small tweaks to you?

People gunna complain that it takes a long time and that everythings being done from scratch blah blah, they did it pretty damn fast during Alpha, even completely changed the system from Alpha to Beta from our complaints and did many changes during beta, but now for some reason slowed down. Maybe because back then they had optimism and hope, something to look forward to (release day), now all they have is a product that is globally abused and disliked but they still have to continue working on it if they want their jobs.
A lot of things are just tweaks for example Auto Attack and Stamina, you're just removing functions that deal with how much stamina a skill uses and check if player has enough and then using it, you're removing the recharge of stamina, anything stamina related is removed and then auto Attack is planked on top which is not tough.
The only "start from scratch" i see is skills and such, which in some senses could take a while if they're doing all the skills but I doubt they are, attributes can be rewritten but thats just a category section and considering they did it perfectly fine in their last mmo they shouldnt have much difficult.
Developers say a lot of time they're doing overhauls or starting from scratch but you never do, you savour what you can because shit costs. Unfortunately for SE as they're just utterly rubbish developers (sorry but they are) and its all cocked up from the ground up things just take 25 years longer than usual because I honestly think they dont know much about what they are doing, its still a learning curve for them. -

June still isn't going to answer prayers, but it will be the foundation. Auto-attack will be the most noticeable along with the removal of physical level & addition of the few new "systems" being added (job, materia etc).
They said they would update these further and until then we'll just have to wait & see (as usual). -

This is an overhaul, no way around it. Entirely different battle system from what we had, stats of both characters, monsters, and currently existing equipment are going to be completely changes, and they are rewriting basic algorithms that handle how enmity/hate is calculated, the way classes work in conjunction with the way certain skills work, new job abilities among other things. They arent just throwing us in auto attack against the same caliber enemies we are fighting today.
No matter how you cut it, it's a game changing overhaul for better or worse. It's basically like they are rewriting everything that has to do with fighting from scratch.
Sure, the content and new systems added with 1.18 might not be mindblowing, but it will be the foundation for going forward with increased content at a rapid pace. Not to mention, its been said that the patch will be significantly larger than anything before it. -

I've played during beta launch and after that kept a 4 month break to wait for the changes.
Last time I logged on I didn't really notice anything significant. I was excited about quests but after doing some of the companies quests or pre-companies I dunno they just felt like leves to me. Content wise I haven't felt like anything has changed. Only the menus seem a lot nicer now because they load faster but the terrible UI for a controller user like me makes this nearly unplayable still. -

They had obviously developed the new system long before beta but it just wasn't ready to launch so they went with the old one for Alpha in order to test other stuff.Quote:

I can hardly blame them for advertising their own game but personally to me their word is worth a lot less than before the hyped patches arrived.
NMs got the same treatment. A lot of writing about them but in the end they were just same monsters with bigger hp bars. (which was to be expected though) -
