Soooo.... how do you guys do this phase properly? There were times we get the snake down to between 1-5% then twin comes down, so that means we're not doing enough dps or managed the phase wrong.
the way we're doing it is like this: the 3 dps goes for the big snake while the blm AoE's to drop the first 2 small snakes down to ~70%. then we go to the other 2 small snakes, LB3 them down, then focus the big snake.
are we doing something wrong? or would you guys suggest something different?

Many factors can go into this problem, but primarily it is a DPS issue. Rarely do we get LB3 on our runs because the DPS can be sustained at a higher pace. I suggest your DPS save all the cooldowns for Asp, and/or have your off-tank pop hollowed ground once the adds collapse on Asp, then use whm to spam holy 4-5 times with presence of mind.

There are a lot of different ways to handle the snakes. We still go with staggering out the Disseminate debuffs to ramp up DPS on Asclepius; when he gets hit by LB2 along with the second set of Hygieia, I believe he is already at around 60-65% (sometimes lower, sometimes a lot lower). The timing generally ends up being: first Hygieia dies ASAP, second Hygieia dies as first stack of Disseminate is <10 seconds (usually around the first or second divebomb in the second set of divebombs), third Hygieia dies immediately almost after getting into position (LB2 drops it very low then it dies shortly thereafter), fourth Hygieia dies, kill Asclepius. When we stagger out the second Hygieia kill to stretch out Disseminate, we have one DPS (usually a BLM due to Manawall) watch the timing and make sure it dies.
What % is Asclepius at when you bring him and all of the Hygieia together for LB3? -

Mega-potions of STR/DEX/INT can make the difference between 5-10% remaining and a clean kill before Twintania drops, if you're not already using them.

Just have your OT provoke the snake the moment the smaller snakes die. You lose maybe ~1 dps at worst case (MT having to throttle to not regain aggro) and it saves your healers a lot of mana.

We use the 2 BRD's and OT to tank some plummets at the start of the fight (100%-85%) to build some LB. Meaning we always have full LB3 without sacrificing DPS. When divebombs hit, we kill 1 add, while having our SMN dot up the 2nd add. We then direct ALL dps onto the big add with 1 stack. We then do the 2nd set of divebombs then the OT grabs the other 2 adds, they bring it all to the middle, I LB3 all 3 (the dps quickly dot up the new adds) and by the time the LB3 hits all 3 are dead with 3 stacks on the big add. Then it's just a matter of dps popping CD's/pots etc. If your dps is not below the required amount then you should do this fine with 5-10 seconds to spare.

The only defensive CD I use for Asp is Rampart at <5s until second divebombs start, that will last you through the divebombs to ease the healing. You want to make sure you don't get additional stacks from the other snake kills, the only person taking real damage in that phase should be the offtank who will have 2-3 stacks from the other kills until the adds are dead.

Bump, to get more insight.
The current strategy my team is going with is getting both initial adds down to 60%, then after the second wave of Dive Bombs the BLM grabs the second set of adds, the tank Covers him, and he does Flares on all the snakes while the other caster uses LB2. This strategy works, but the tank gets rocked with this strategy, and the main snake doesn't have a debuff up for the first 45 seconds before the second set of Dive Bombs, which is probably a DPS loss overall. -
