[To the devs] Implement this system to help those with bad luck with loot

My suggestion is to add this system that help those with bad luck at getting gear from chests: for example

Person goes to coil and gets zero gear from first chest he gets one point called good fate and with each time he collect points lets say 40 he can exchange them from new npc hold all that dungeon gear and trade those points for the geae he wanted after going 40 runs without getting it

What if we give them some tokens they can accumulate and trade for almost as good gear?

I agree. We should implement this and call it something like tomestones.

Why not just make it so that for every day you log in you get to pick an i90 piece of your choice? Logging is hard ya know, they should definitely give you some reward for manging that.

btw I do agree with OP that Coil loot system needs to be changed sometime in the future and I am sure it will (maybe not actual drop/loot system, but entrance rules so that one can enter T1-5 multiple times in order to farm gear). It won't get changed before new Coil turns are out and new, higher, drops are available, though.

At least this is what I read between the lines of Yoshida's declarations.

I disagree, for one we already have tomes and honestly they really suck. You run the same dungeons over and over and they are always the same and never change. The points if you dont get a drop I can not support either. Currently there is no reason to have a system like this as myth tomes are easy to get and you can gear up with those. The coil gear is as it should be except it should not be on par with myth gear. Currently we have the easy mode myth gear and the coil gear but the sad fact is both sets are practically the same. What they need to do is if the hardest content in the game drops gear there needs to be a difference stat wise that makes the gear that drops in the hardest content superior. The current drops in coil is fine it keeps it interesting I would not change a thing about it.

Only 1 drop for me in 3 months as a WHM. I don't mind as long as the myth gear is the same ilvl and I can eventually get it.

What if... it would give extra roll bonus? for example: 2 Tanks, 1 drop... they both roll need. One must lose.
The next time a tank item comes and they both roll need, the previous loser would get 10 extra roll points... for example:
tank who won previous loot rolls: 47
tank who lost previous loot roll: 38+10 (extra points from losing previous chest) = 48
And it would add extra 10 roll points for every need failed. Something like that and balanced.
It would reset once the initial loser wold get an item.

1. Changing the roll system doesn't have an effect on the drop rate. Doesn't matter what your luck with roles are if the item never drops.
2. It's exploitable, people would run old content in an attempt to stack points for use with the one good item they want, which would ruin the whole point of the system.

But if you get the OP suggestion is also explorable. You can run coil multiple times, never get, lets say chest piece, and after 2-3 run just go to the NPC and buy it with the tomes from the items you have been passing/greeding...
Also i didnt mentioned on my previous post, but the bonus would suit only for coil... so its wouldnt be exploitable like you said.

We've had 3 drops in 2 weeks in T1. Random drops are random.

Anyway, the whole point of the tomestone system is to fill in the gaps from gear that drop from the highest raid tier at the time. If you have crap luck in Coil you can always buy the Myth stuff. That's why it's there.

You already have this type of 'wellfare epics' system. It's called myth. You get it every week in place of what you ain't getting from coil. And people are still wanting welfare benefits? lol in a way, this is just like real life.

They are buffing coil gear so all ur arguments about getting equal gear from myth is invalid

nope, they are buffing coil weapons. So his argument is completely valid.

I honestly don't see a reason to change things. Loot isn't guaranteed, simple as that. The token system works just fine for getting you geared, and law of averages says you'll end up with some of the loot sooner or later.

Better yet, why don't they add a loot preference screen everyone can open in the dungeon that is applies before each boss that drops gear and on that screen you put check boxes next to the gear you would like to see drop.

Then it calculates percentages based on peoples preference settings.

So if the whm wants the gloves to drop, and the sch want's the gloves to drop, and the tanks want the neckalce and chest to drop, and the dps wants some ring to drop. Then the gloves would have a 40% chance to drop, the necklace would have a 20% change to drop, the chest 20% chance, and the ring 20% chance.

Yes, you can exchange tomestones for DL and AF2 gear, but with Coil (which is what OP was talking about) it is just luck of the draw. I've only done T1 and T2 so far, but each time I've completed there hasn't even been a healing item drop. I don't see the problem with letting someone who has beaten the dungeon many times not get the reward at some point down the line.

Cleared turn 1-4 for two weeks and 1-2 for 4 weeks prior to that, Since 2 healer pieces drop. Our DRG practically got everything, our Blm got everything, 3 pieces of tank gear, 2 pieces of brd gear.

Imo, to compensate for Melee being week, I think SE ninja adjusted the drop rates in BCB to favor Mnk/Drg. We ran it yesterday and got 3 pieces of mnk gear and we don't even run with a mnk.

nice way to start off with an insult. You want the same gear that drops from Coil but from other source? But, myth is the same iLvl as coil drops. In some cases Myth is better than what coil loot.

Even with that system, you are better off spending myth tomes due to lockout. Unless you want to wait 40 weeks to get a T1 piece, which is near equivalent to myth in many cases.

But on the subject of there being more DPS gear dropping, yes I think they even addressed it on here admitting it was a bug or an issue of some kind on T1. As for Myth gear, that would be fine except Allagan gear is being buffed above Myth gear with the impending update. So if you consistently complete the content, why should you have to settle for a lesser reward?

Someone in your group should level a monk, play it well and then tell me it's weak. Not even close. We cleared turn 2 last weekend and BLM/SMN gears drop when we don't have a single BLM/SMN with us. RNG is RNG.

I read the Op and I have also been doing coil without getting drops the fact of the matter is we already have this system in place. It may not be the exact item in some cases but you can turn in tomes for comparable gear.

We usually rotate between a couple of monks that absolutely wreck in Coil. The only downside is the dancing they have to do to get out of stuff that causes a DPS loss. If anything the buff will make up for the times they have to get out of red stuff.

I didn't mean to infer drg/mnk are weak, I was merely stating the generally accepted opinion of the populous.

Our drg does great, and higher dmg than most people I've encountered. Mnk's are ok minus greased lightning dropping during movement mechanics. And what I stated was based on the drops we get over 2 months. You say mage gear dropped, I'm saying all of our drops are mostly mnk/drg and blm/smn and we clear 1-4 every monday now.

And to your point, turn 4 is way more of a team comp dps check than turn 2. You can do turn 2 with 4 melee if you can handle rot and have 2 paladins. I wouldn't want to do turn 4 without at least one aoe based mage.

Personally I would not mind say a point system, but only if you beat turn 5, but say you would need 10 full runs to get an allagan piece of choice that is not the weapon. Not that I support this just saying been doing coil for about 8 weeks or something but how much bard loot has dropped oh wait 1 earring on the 1st week and have yet to see another aiming piece since.
