Many tanks and some healers like to spam queue until they get something in-progress, creating some insanity of a potential party member canceling after canceling after canceling.
There are two easy solutions.
- Two checkboxes, "Join Fresh Group" and "Join in Progress" People that want to dig for in-progress runs can exclusively check this box. Others may exclusively check fresh groups. If you're like me, I'd check both. I do love picking up the last boss of an instance for full myth, but I also like starting with a fresh group.
- Canceling out of a queue puts a 3 or 5 minute DF cooldown on you. Any decent group can do WP in 25 minutes, so, unless you got your in-progress first-whack, you're going to be wasting a lot of time. There are legitimate reasons to cancel, like you got a phone call and don't want the distraction, or a friend asked for help and you'd rather go do that first.

It's not a difficult thing to observe other perspectives on an issue.
The people that want to "cancel farm" for queues will just get out of your way if they had separate checkboxes. It doesn't make populations any better or worse, simply that when the queue pops, if noone is AFK, most people are likely to accept. Rather than getting paired with the same person a dozen times only to have them cancel a dozen times. -

You people realize how silly having the option to only join in-progress dungeons is? You know they have to start somewhere right? So if 100 people are all looking for an in-progress dungeon, and 2 groups lose 1 member, then 2 people get a group, the other 98 will still be waiting for a non-existent group.
You experience long wait times because you choose to play a class that there is an over abundance of, while ignoring the roles there are a shortage of. Play a healer or tank, and this improves the situation for yourself, and decreases wait times for other DPS as well.
Devs have already said they are working on a way to discourage people from spamming the queue looking for in-progress. Like it or not, regardless of your reasoning, they DO NOT intended for anyone to INTENTIONALLY get into a group for the last 5-10 minutes of the dungeon and then get full rewards. That is simply a bonus that you should be greatful for, the intended purpose is to help parties that lose someone. But they made the mistake of putting faith in the player base, thinking we would be greatful for things like this rather than abusing it for easy rewards.
Nobody is saying make a tank or healer and it will be instant queue all the time, there are times where I'm waiting on DPS, but it's a fact those times are very low, and i RARELY spend more than a few seconds in queue.Quote:

in my experience i dont think i have seen many tanks do this. what i have seen tho is A LOT of "1/2" waiting on the dps situations. you would think with dps queue times ppl would be jumping at the oportunity to join a party but no.
just yeasterday a wp run timed out five times because one of the dps would not hit commence. -
