Is selling 27.5k lightning shards on Market board a normal thing?

just wondering...how did the guy cheat? you saw him bot?
because I like to endlessly get crystals (i don't get shards) monday-friday in the mornings. and yea...i get a lot too but i'm no bot...

other then that....

I am not going to reveal how I found out they are bots - they are indeed well programmed, they running around for nods, just like normal players, but the fact that there are a lot of details showing they are not PC. For example,

I would say i'm amazed it only took a bot a whole month to go 12-38, in spite of the pittance of exp shards should give.

Anyways, Legacy folks, many of them, have had capped shards and even crystals from 2 years of nothing special to craft, so, there's that to consider.

Yea I'll admit that is a pretty big jump...but I'll also say you'd be surprised on some people just wanting to mine. I believe when they banned everyone with certain amount of gil, people who lost all their money were furious, especially the people who didn't cheat. And some admitted once they where lv 15 to 10, all they did was mine or craft etc.

I'm not saying you are wrong. Just keep reporting and I'm sure SE will get to him eventually and see if he is botting. If he isn't then nothing wrong with what he is doing.

Although. If you never see him stop to go to town to repair his gear...then yea, hack...:P
And at that level he doesn't need good gear to get the items he wants.

Same thing on my server.. We even have a large FC that is mostly only BOT's that can be found spamming claims all day at several shard camps. One spot with water sprites had a quest pop there. I spent some time playing with the quest pop while BOT's auto claimed it and pulled it away from me.

I cant say I am not surprised you are being so defensive.

I can understand your disbelieve tho, it's probably due to my refusal to reveal all the details I found out and how I found out these suspicious accounts are running illicit activities.
Still, I however will leave the judgement to SE.

Not to defend bots or anything, but if you're using your best gear to farm level 1 shards, you might be doing it wrong.

No, it's generally not normal to see that large of a stack(s) being put up for sale. We have the same problem on my server (Siren) with lightning shards as well. I've even found the bot that farms the shards right outside of Ala Mhigo. It was a while back (about 2 weeks ago) but he was there 24/7. Didn't matter what time of day or night or morning I went or how long I stayed, he just kept going like the energizer bunny, day after day after day. lol...

There is a 99.999999999% chance that he is botter, you have to be literally out of your mind to do that manually, and I mean literally. However, there's really nothing you can do to prove it unless you record him teleport hacking or something like that.

Or they do what Runescape had to do. Add random events that occur that you have to respond to.

I have a hunch that stopping the flow of real money from the US market into poor Asian hands is a low priority.I do not know for sure, but I have a hunch that their is not near the level of gil seller/ bot activity on JP servers.

Before the XP boost to DoH leves me and a friend probably mined 2000+ cobalt ore in a day or soto get my miner from 40 - 50. I'm not saying the guy in the OP isn't a botter but please don't underestimate how much spare time some people have.

Wow, I remember running across someone who told me they had been playing for 24+ hours farming for diremite webs. I was shocked.

Regular Diremite isn't that hard to come across actually.
There's a few good spots where 7+ spawn every minute or so. It's almost continuous spawning and regular drops.

2 Weeks ago I sold over 65.ooo Wind Shards on Market Board.... I am not a RMT, i was just buying all the Shards for 5gil from Market Board, and put them back in 1.000 stacks for 30g/each

Now you tell me you can only have 9999 shards?

9999 + 2 retainers = 3 x 9999 = 29997 Shards

Now you sell 1k stacks on Market board and fill out your 20 spots

20 * 1000 = 20k shards per retainer selling

20k x 2 = 40.000 + 29997 = 69997 shards selling

Not everyone is an RMT selling shards, and its good that SE is not banning people completly blind

on my server i got someone selling 160 tier 3 crit matiera :). maybe he just likes to farm matiera... right lmao!

The ones that really upset me are the ones who somehow get underneath the world to go between farming nodes. You can't target them, but their names can appear at node sites coming out of the walls.

This does not necessarily mean the person is a bot, it could be an alt.

My 1 4 jobs to 50 was fishing, and 3 crafting jobs. I had everything else 20 or lower.

My Botany and Mining both made it to almost 40 before I level my 1st 50 combat job (MNK).

I have since leveled all of the other jobs. However the level of the gatherer vs others does not necessarily make it inferior. Honestly if I was only farming shards on an alt for money I would use the cheapest to repair gear I could get. As Shards do not HQ.

As stated previously this is not a teleport bot. Also those kind of numbers are realistically achievable. I have more than 9999 in some shards and crystals (I store the excess on my retainers. I have recently started dumping some of the excess shards as my retainers were starting to get full.

While it is quite possible this is a bot, there is not enough evidence presented for SE to act on this player as a bot (plus 38 in 3 weeks is pretty slow for a true bot).

well, not to defend bots but...SE really caused their own issue - if shards and crystals weren't so stupidly tedious to get then there wouldn't be a market for them. As it is, if it weren't for bots most crafters would be bankrupt because its the bots that help keep the cost down, if you took away the bots it would probably be a butt ton you pay for those things, I mean farming them for like 15gil a pop? people would be charging closer to 100 at least.
Shards should have been adjusted in lvl to be relevant to each node you are at, so a lvl 15 node has its shards at lvl 15 etc. so that as a crafter you could actually farm them while still slowly getting experience for the most tedious classes of the game

Oh Excalibur? Isn't that a Legacy server. I'm not surprised that you have maximum shards, not at all.

Devs hold bot selling shards for some time. You buy shards for gil. And after that they ban the bot and take your gil out of the economy.
