Being shafted because of class.

I played this game in beta. I bought the limited edition set and played early access. I've been a constant loyal subscriber in the few months I've played. When I hit the cap I spent 2 weeks nearly puking on Tonberries to get full DL. Now I have both full Darklight and my Relic +1 (a mistake I admit now, should've gone with Myth).

Garuda? No problem. Titan? Piece of cake. (Though I rarely see win's because no one can dodge to save their life)


But for all this work I never get to do Coil. Why? Because i'm a Warrior. I never get anywhere with shouting and when I ask to join one it's always "sry PLD is better". What's that? Join an FC? Oh, i'd love to join an FC, too bad none of the endgame FC's want a Warrior because "sry PLD is better".


I've spent all this time raising a WAR. Why should I have to switch to a PLD that I don't want to play?

Now let the trolling flow in.

Warrior is viable in coil.
People just don't know how to work around them.
Since Paladin is a much simpler and high mitigate tank they go with that.
But there are a solid amount of Warriors already up to coil turn 5.
This coming update will only boost how common they are in coil and top tier fights.

(Capped Warrior first and swapped to Paladin because of the tank utility advantage of mitigates, though I've grown a love for playing both tanks even though Warrior suits me better.)

support, you shouldn't have to swap.

Warrior buffs incoming on dec 17th. Wait until that and everyone will love to bring you into coil as long as you play well.

PLD/WAR will be the preferred combo, similar to how WHM/SCH is for healers.

We have 3 coil groups in my FC and each use 1 war tank, and 1 pld. Warriors do just fine.

With the buffs coming you'll be the most popular girl at the prom don't you worry :)

Our static has a warrior tank, we are in the minority as a group that accepts warrior tanks. It sucks that most people just reject them because while clearly inferior they are fun to work with and have some positives. Turn 4 we have to change our strat a bit but otherwise they work fine and are very much viable for coil.

I am always willing to give warrior tanks a chance and have seen impressive players use them.

Because playing with a Warrior makes the game harder to play and you haven't set your goals high enough to play with players good enough to play with you.

A Warrior can die because they hit a combo instead of Inner Beast. That will never happen to a Paladin because they can just make blanket estimates. The longer it takes to be healed, the more worthless a healing bonus becomes.

We take all damage to the face. Inner Beast offers an extremely unreliable form of survival in the form of a selfheal (which has no effect until after losing health) ranging from dogshit worthless to just adequate.

If you cannot accurately predict large damage spikes and prepare yourself to recover from them properly, you will never get anywhere playing a Warrior. This can be a difficult thing to do, but it is more essential to your role of survival than any ability on your action bar.

But what you don't know is that pug groups fail. If they weren't failing with you as WAR, they'd be failing with you as PLD. I've never joined a pug group that was worth a damn.

You either got like 6 people who know what they are doing and 2 people holding everyone else back because they cant dps and count to 15 at the same time or everyone in the group is hopeless.

Don't suck at playing your class. Join an FC. Work with what you get. I have withstanding offers to play with players on turn 5. It is easy enough to join an FC and get into a static group. If that doesn't work, you could always try forming your own.

2.1 should fix most the wars woes, it even has plds afraid they might be replaced.

Having played for ... awhile now. I was pushed from Pld, which I prefer, to War which I don't mind, or didn't mind until the pushing became "Oh your a Pld that's ok we'll find someone else ..." "Wait man I can go War, christ this sucks."

This is the super fun see saw of balancing, just have to wait your turn for the top spot, in a few weeks. Pld was the underdog for the majority of 1.0 mostly because of what's about to happen. War had enough self-heal and mitigation with a larger HP pool to match a Pld's mitigation, which is coming. They also had better damage output, which also translates into better enmity. Which is also coming in a few weeks.

End of story, the shouts are about to switch to "lfm coil Tx 2xWar". In 6 months it'll see saw back to Pld.

I have a WAR and PLD in my static coil group. It'll stay that way unless one of them quits. There is hope for you. Just make friends.

On a partly unrelated note, the WAR in my group makes fun of me for being a Lalafel so I make fun of him for being a WAR. Looks like I'll have to find a new way to josh him once 2.1 comes out.

Not sure you are serious or just trolling PLDs :D but get on the tank forum and have fun!
In case you were serious dont worry, a buff is incoming.
For now just REFUSE to play PLD. However you gotta give your very best to make WAR accepted into parties.
At the moment a WAR cant afford to be average.

Get a group that isn't stupid. We use WAR in turns 1-4 and it doesn't make them any more difficult. Not enough experience of turn 5 to talk about that yet.

I'm sorry that this happened, But come DEC 17th you and your fellow WARs are going to be the new OP tank. Then people will say "Sorry WAR is better" lol (IDK). But when they Buff WAR you better hope you know what your doing.

I dont think that this will happen. Post 2.1. you will hurt your groups mitigation if you dont bring both due to the different debuffs they bring. PLD is also fantastic as offtank - blind, rage of halone, cover+hallowed ground, best stun, silence and to some degree CNJ cross class skills.

You also have to consider that with the upcoming BRD nerfs there is more discouragement to stack multiple BRD for silence duty, so a PLD will be required.
PLDs are fine.

when people say a certain class can't be used for something, its really their way of saying they cannot or will not put in the time to adapt. My static runs turns 1-4 with a war tank in about an hour.
