This game already feels very solo'able. I say.. no.
OP want a solo dungeon
i said why not, people maybe want to feel the solo thrill for sometimes
just dont make the reward so high that will broke the game itself
maybe 25 philo and 5 myth per dungeon is fine while the dungeon itself is clearable in around 45 minutes+

There's already a Solo duty
It's called 'Final Fantasy' from I to XIII
This would be great. I don't have the time for df waits and whiny parties. I love doing dungeons with friends but our times are different and we can't possibly grind dungeons to the point of the speed runners, so that makes my gear build up slower then it should be. A little 20 ToP, 5 Myth, one man missions would really help me supplement my farming and make me less useless. I mean we have several solo instances in the game, why not help us players with limited play time out a bit.
I wouldn't mind if some of those uber NPCs team up with you in some of the dungeons. Yes I realize they all have like 5 digit HP and Papalymo can facetank anything while nuking but it'd actually be pretty fun. The reward doesn't even have to be great.
About 60 minutes and this sounds about right, it should be considerably slower than doing group runs. This is what dailies could be like.
This is a mmo after all, and it should be incredibly inefficient to farm credits for end game gear solo if possible at all. Alternatively you could make some friends.

Sounds like a plan.
Because we believe in a game design philosophy where we encourage ways to play the game through punishment and reward, that projects the game maker's expectation rather than meeting the expectation of every player. It's difficult to provide solid challenges if you follow the latter. It should be possible to play the way you want but nothing more.
I don't really need to preach this though as Yoshi has given fair indications that he shares this idea in regard to end-game content, so to be honest you'd be lucky to get my suggestion. If something is meant for the end-game he doesn't make apologies for the difficulty.
If earning tomes in solo duties were comparable to the party instances in terms of tomes earned per time spent, then the pool of players available for df would be greatly reduced, creating much longer delays for those who want to df the party instances. The only way to offset this would be to make the solo instance tomes per time spent less than the time one would spend waiting for and doing the party runs. Which would not really be any benefit to anyone.
Give the solo only casual people a bone.
Give them endgame Solo GC Leves that give 5 phil and 1 myth per win.
Philosophy maybe, but I would say no to adding anything that doesn't require a group for mythology. Honestly I'm against being able to run AK/WP to get mythology gear as some of those items are best in slot, and I rather dislike the idea of best in slot items being awarded just for doing an easy monotonous task. That's how it is though, so.. that's that. Personally I like that the gear you need for raiding end game (DL) requires you to group, so I'm sorta against soloing as an option for it, which is why I said maybe.. cause then maybe you get to learn your class just a little bit better than if you hadn't played it in a group setting. Which really would be better for raiding purposes. And yeah, I know.. people are gonna come in to tell me that good players will always just be able to pick up a glass in a group setting and blah blah. While I agree some people can do that, many can't. Doesn't mean they're bad, they just need some hands-on experience prior to jumping into the fray.
it wouldnt have to be a dungeon. it could even be something like a leve chain daily quest that took like 20-40 minutes. maybe also weekly quest as well and make them that way so people cant spam it constantly. i would say a conversion table of about 75/25 for a daily and maybe 125/50 for the weekly. maybe make the weekly a few hours of running around doing something so you can just leave off and continue when the time is right with ones schedule.
