There are about 80% stuffs in ARR are better than 1.2x,
but the other 20% are not.
The problem of ARR is the game designs are too focused on "result",
not focus on the "progress".
In 1.2x:
1.To fight Good King Moggle,you have to dodge the tree mobs, collect keystones with fc mates.
In ARR, you can just click DF, then win (or wipe).
2.1.2x had better Relic quests.you feel you were really work on something.
In ARR, I can finish a relic quest in 1 or 2 days,makes them feel......cheap.
It's like playing a game with cheat code or trainers:fast fast fast, kill kill kill.
no need to think or working on something.
The progress need to be more fun in ARR.

While i really hate the daily QQ threads of other people, this thread here seems to point out a fact really.
I also think, that they could give us more content in future which really feels like working on it and a real accomplishement when we did it.
I am very sure they are working on great things just now and in future ^^ hopefully :D -

Seriously though there were some things that were done better in 1.23, but endgame was NOT one of them (minus the exploration maybe - I do sorta miss actually running through the world with a group.)
Overall the jobs were better handled I feel (WAR and BLM especially) in 1.23 the pacing of the story/writing was a bit better. I also miss actually being able to grind mobs, vs just spamming FATE all day.
Anyone who actually thinks Hamlet was a good idea however has no right to talk about what constitutes good game design. -

It's just that when you had to spam it 300 times....Honestly, if it came back in ARR I would like to see them make it at least a 16 man encounter, 8 DoH / DoL, 8 DoW / DoM, because 1 tank, 2 healers, and 6 crafter's and gatherer's limited the amount of people you could bring.Quote:

The speedruns while annoying were only for the people that had high-enough DPS and knowledge to do them. Say what you want about speedruns, not everyone could do it.
Instead of the "kill 24 bad bestmen" we have today, you had to spiritbond your unfinished weapon - tedious but at least not as simple as it is today.
And you had to use GC seals to buy the Properties of Beastmen, again making you do GC-related stuff.
Dunno, seemed more like a journey than a checklist. -

I liked the concept of Hamlet on paper. The execution of it and how seals were distributed was entirely the reason I refused to do the relic quest prior to ARR.
TL;DR - OP wants a different type of grind than what already exists. (because apparently running dungeons 8-10 times a week + Coil isn't the kind of grind they want)
Not to mention, several jobs leveled to 50 because you were expected to swap on the fly between bosses/trash. Another mechanic I'm glad that's gone because if I want to play a Paladin I don't want to swap to a BLM midway in just to speed up trash killing.Quote:

Of course Relic weapons feel "cheap." This is just the first tier of content... they're intro raiding weapons now. Intro will not hold the same level of acquisition as the previous BIS; from here on out, we are going to get better weapons.
As for dungeon/boss attuning, you already have to attune yourself to Coil by beating everything else. -
