Does the duty finder not get used on this server? as a white mage and black mage I have waited for over an hour to get into CM and AK before leaving. Is this issue specific to me or is this a common thing and Australian evening/night? I am newly arrived from US server.

1/ Duty finder is cross server
2/ As a healer I never wait more than 10minutes
3/ Try to put Japanese as well as Join on-going party, that should speed up the thing

duty finder is not only your server it takes users from several servers. regardless sometimes it does take a long time to find a PT in DF especially DD

the language thingy in the duty finder will allow those other languages to be found? otherwise it will find only English?

if you only put english, you will only be matched with people who have the english language ticked in their profile.
Masamune being a JP server, you lose a huge pool of player by running ony in english.
Most runs don't need much talk anyway so there is no problem running with JP players. -

Here's a wonder amazement: when I started my tanking relics and hit df... Instant Access! And I only use English language. Go figure. lol
Suggestion: grind/learn tank jobs. XD -

I would recommend making some friends on the server. Specifically healer and tank friends. That will speed up your queue significantly! As a WHM, I teamed up with a PLD and a BRD and literally got an instant queue for WP multiple times in a row.

Hey Xarthos! Don't know if you remember me but we friended each other shortly after you transferred to Masamune. I'll add you to some linkshells next time I see you on. A lot of us ask in linkshells for parties and use the Duty Finder as a last resort.

While it's not really same issue in ARR, tank is more beneficial right now since amount of them playing with it still lowest compared to healer and DDs. Just give it a thought and try, it's not really hard as long as you're not doing something a bit extreme like speed runs.
You do have freedom to play non tank jobs ofc. But that's entirely up to you. And hence, I'll change my original opinion as suggestion. -

I'm not sure what you meant by luxury here, but if in this case you were having some sort of time schedule, then yes, this is problematic to you and many people who registered df as DD. Not sure there's viable solution for that atm since again, not many people plays tank since it was a more demanding job than others.
As for joining in-progress DF, not really recommended from my own experience unless there's someone in ls/fc requires assistance beating the said content and there's a willing person from same ls/fc wanted to help and register that, hoping he/she can join in that same party as theirs, which is totally random because there might be several party having similar dire situation too.
Another factor to think are the hours where there's high players population and multiply that by servers housed under 1 regional DF server. Try playing during that hours and hopefully you won't have to wait that long.
And this is FF, where it is known to play many multiple jobs, ever since 1st series iteration, unlike other mmo. I'm sure given time, you could learn to play other jobs well enough, giving yourself more options. That is... again, if you could spend more time on it. -

I have friends who actually click all 4 languages so that they get DF parties faster. Not just "J" and "E".
I believe he meant that no one have the luxury to level up and gear up a extra class(tank) just to get a faster queue.
It's very difficult to be a tank that is as effective as a person main-ing him mainly cos of gear wise. -
