Please change visuals of Shadow Flare (ACN slow 'bubble')

Can we please have a few changes to the effects of Shadow Flare? While it should be very visible, it presently can be difficult to see red effects "under" it, and in tight camera situations, it's quite difficult to see through it.

Something like a giant blue clock face (with a blue circle), and to also lose the dome effect. This is the only (or one of very few) effects that isn't just ground based, and I don't understand why.

Obviously, the dogs don't do any red attacks.. but yeah. One is quite easy to see through, and the other is a menace.. Sometimes red is projected on top of shadowflare's floor, but that's rare.

So please, remove the bubble overtop and lighten/change the floor. Identical to the protective bubble, but with a clock face would be great.

Or simply have telegraphed attacked always appear ontop of everything else.

If they change Shadowflare then they need to change Holy spell.

I'd like not to go blind during lvl 45+ Fates with 15 WHM's casting Holy.

I too have had some troubles with Shadow Flare and other moves with lasting graphics, particularly in Wanderer's Palace. The tonberry stalkers are particularly hard to see through all these effects, which seem to darken the background to the point where the stalkers blend in.

In Beta Flaming Arrow was exactly the same, but was toned down for obvious reasons

The cone displays should simply be shown on top.

They already nerfed the visuals of bard's ground AoE and now it looks terrible. leave shadow flare alone and just make the AoE cones draw on top.

Shadow Flare looks terrible anyway.

I left my opinion out of the OP because it's just an opinion. Merely talking about the way it looks, I like the way all of bard's aoe's look. I don't know what it look like pre-change (probably a red shadow flare, eh?) but a dome over the top is useless and only clouds up combat that can, at times, be quite busy.

The only synergy is between the name and the color, neither really relate to the effect to at all. I'd much rather an effect that crossed the language barrier and gave an indicator to what the ability actually did.

I skipped one of the giants in AK today, and the summoner dropped SF and I absolutely could not see through the bubble to keep an eye on the giant, or on other mobs. I could see into it, but not through or around it.

It looks ok, except it's overwriting the enemies' red ring aoe.

But it's not a 'slow bubble'. It's just an aoe damage attack. It just has a 5% chance to add slow, but that's not the main purpose of it.

The scrolling fire effect that is only visible near the edges used to fill the whole circle and it was brighter. Like shadow flare is now minus the bubble and orange instead of purple. Now you can barely see the effect at all. For whatever reason they changed this but didn't change it with shadow flare. IDK. But having the cones draw on top would be a simple solution without modifying the effects of the skills.

See this, this is perfect, this is beautiful. I still don't see the point of the bubble effect, but it's unobtrusive. However, Shadowflare is much darker and you can't see the floor, and reds projected underneath.

Edit: Sorry, I know this isn't shadow flare, because nothing is being slowed. Just that the two visuals are very similar, except that you can see through this one.

I would be quite happy if turning off other's spell effects also took away the effect for that one (it's actually the reason I turned off other's spell effects). Or just make it so the red is always on top.. either or!

I'm honestly not sure what the 5% is about on the tooltip. Every enemy not immune to Slow receives the debuff 100% of the time when inside the aoe.

I agree that enemy attack indicators should always show on top of any other ground effects. That's just common sense.

That 's not Shadowflare, that's SCH's protective circle thing.

I know it's not shadowflare. Sorry, I just meant that the visuals for that, which are quite similar, are perfect.

What was Bard's Flaming Arrow like before?

Dude, I go blind when a mage casts the Meteor LB. Literally, the whole screen goes white. It is scary when fighting a boss in coil or titan!

While we're on topic of Shadow Flare, please make it so that one person's shadow flare doesn't cancel out another person's sacred soil and vice versa.
I can understand if 1 person using both attacks is kinda cheating but when I was in a chimera group, there were 2 other summoners (I'm a scholar) and they kept spamming Shadow Flare...
So of course once they died and I was actually able to cast Sacred Soil, the group managed to survive some of the chimera ice attacks (that some fool didn't silence).

It's frustrating that these 2 cancel each other out and while I personally think Sacred Soil is better to have for boss situations, if I'm in a party with a summoner I don't wanna sit there having an argument about which AOE skill either one of us should be using. Thanks to this now I never want to party with summoners and that just doesn't seem right.

Was in DF I frit once. We had him down to 20%. A black mage decides to use LB3 at that time. Cracks spawned at the same time and NOBODY could notice them. It was a wipe, naturally we got pissed at that black mage and from that day forward I started playing with battle effects from other People off

You can turn this off. I don't even see my OWN Holy. I can't turn Shadowflare off.
