The lag in this game sucks. People stopping then teleporting forward. I randomly lag only to have the game "catch up" 15 seconds later. I see people sliding around like they are on ice. My sending and receiving are all over the place all the time. I've pretty much had it at this point.
I don't know how to interpret tracerts, but I know how to perform them, so I figured I'd give mine to SE and hope that they can identify a problem. I haven't seen problems like this for a long time. Is there anything else I can do, or should I just give up on this game?

There is another user on here that works for an ISP in Virginia. His research points to network issues with the ISP hosting the North American datacenter's connection in Montreal. Unfortunately, there's no way to know if Squeenix is aware of load issues on their provider's network. Do not expect any response from anyone affiliated with the company in any capacity.

It's one of those things will likely be fixed. As far as a time frame is concerned, I can only speculate they'll passively (meaning users will not be informed) fix it within the next one to two years.

I've been getting unplayable amounts of lag and packet loss on a daily basis for the past several days (not on my end). It subsides late at night and begins again late morning or so. My route to the datacenter is also going through "tinet.net", and other people with different routes are not reporting lag, so I suspect that's the common link. I hope this is as simple as Ormuco fixing one of their uplinks.

Dunno if you watch FFxiv arr server status side which was posted in reddit you see on one root are like 6 Servers i guess so its just overcrowed after Char Trans.. while im pinging on these server with like 280-450 ms xD and i got horrible spikes ingame and loosing package all day get 90ked etc. cant even load my char

While a litle variance is normal, what you are seeing there (swings anywhere from +20% to +200% delay) is far beyond the normal. The trick will be convincing Comcast to look into the issues on their last segments before handing off to their routing partners--and then communicating effectively with those routing partners to investigate things on their end.Quote:

The best course of action would be to open a support ticket with both your ISP and SE, including the sample traces. This gives them a roadmap for where you are coming from, going to, how you are getting there--and gives some clues as to where the route is running into issues. They may not be able to act on it right away--but if they get enough reports exhibiting similar signs, it will eventually become actionable and they <should> take action. The trick is getting enough people to report these kinds of findings to them. -

Their ISP can lean on their partner though--the trick is getting them enough evidence so they have some proof there is a problem that needs to be investigated. With piecemeal reporting showing up here, it simply may not be getting where it needs to be fast enough--people need to be opening support tickets with both their ISP and SE, submitting these samples to them so the process eventually gets started.Quote:

Same issue here. Seems to have started this past Saturday and only first noticed it in Titan HM where everything would freeze for 1-2 seconds (sometimes more) at a time then resume. It's kind of unplayable when you can't see landslide at all or tell which bombs dropped first and the next thing you know you're plummeting to the ground when the server finally updates your position.
Also, just as Raikki said, it's only a problem during the day and clears up after about midnight EST, but during the day the game is completely unplayable for me. -

I have started to get repeated error 90,000 today, about 8 or 9 times so far. would this be related to what you are all chatting about? noticed lag too, i.e. i hit sprint, and then after 3-4 seconds my character will start to sprint

Regardless, this is your best way of getting much needed information to the people that can do something about it. You aren't just popping in and saying "it's broke... fix it." You are giving them specific data relevant to your connection, it's delays, and telling them when/what/where to look to find answers for your specific problem. Important elements in ANY support request. -
