Weapon/Armor Preview

Wouldn't it be nice if we're given the option to display/preview weapons and armors on our character before buying it from the Market or NPC Vendors? Just a thought...:rolleyes:

Same. TBH, if a tool like that comes, please make it so that we can also see what it will look like when we dye our gear. Would love me some dyed gear, but dunno what it rreally turns out to look.

I'm not so concerned with seeing the appearance beforehand, but there should be a comparison window so we're able to compare stats when buying gear. It's very clunky to have to open your inventory, check stats, memorise them, then compare them to the item you want to buy. There should just be a "currently equipped" window which shows the gear you have equipped in the same slot. Wonder if this is coming in the future? It's probably in the "quality of life" thread that I've ignored...

You could always just open your Character tab and put it next to whatever tab has the gear you're looking at.

This. You can compare attack and defence, but the game doesn't check secondary stats, such as gathering/perception/control, etc.

Pretty sure this doesn't work. I.e. opening the character tab will close whatever preview you have open at the vendor, and vice versa.

The +/- system for defensive stats works well. Should be pretty simple to do it for other stats too.

Sorry i'm derailing the thread a bit. Isn't there some sort of model viewer out there that would accomplish what the OP is after? I know it's not in game, but this might suit the purpose in the short term.

Or just give us an in-depth style system...

GIVE US A IN-DEPTH STYLE SYSTEM <--- if you didn't get the hint i was giving above. Feel like i'm playing some 1990's mmo with everyone running around with the identical toon.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a feature to be included with the vanity slots whenever SE gets around to releasing it.

As an ex World of Warcraft player, I fully support this. I want to be able to preview my gear before purchasing it, comparing stats would also be nice.

I even suggested it on the forums during beta but unfortunately it didn't make it to the game.

I really, really, really don't understand why we don't have a preview function (for both gear AND DYE).

Until they add a Vanity system, there's no good reason for it to exist as you'll be wearing the best gear possible and not the best looking.

I still like to try and put together outfits. >_> There's definitely a need for it, even without a vanity system.
