First of all, I want to say: this doesn't affect me. I run this stuff with my FC and... well, look at my gear! I could care less, because it doesn't bother ME.
But when I look at /shout in Revenant's Toll, all I see is:
"LFM WP need BLM and BRD"
"LF DPS for WP BLM only"
"LF1M BLM for WP"
"LF BRD for WP"
While it's true that the AK grind sucked, at least it didn't create class discrimination. Now what? The only people allowed to grind endgame are BLM, BRD, tanks and healers? This seems like a pretty big problem, honestly.
Should just make the mobs in WP magic resistant. Take 10% less damage from magic, take 10% more damage from melee.
Bam, fixed.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, it will sort itself out.
I personally think it's hilarious. I've been in revenant's toll mining for a bit now, and I keep seeing the same person shout for specific jobs for "speed runs" for 2+ hours now. The irony of taking extra time to shout for specific jobs so the actual run goes a tad faster just totally cracks me up. -

Sounds like typical Ultros to me. It goes beyond class discrimination....Had a tank who pulled the plug because our WP run couldn't pull all the mobs to the first boss and AoE them down.

I wouldn't say its so much discrimination, but its people that are looking specifically for speed runs. In this case you can complete WP in under 15 minutes with geared AOE DPS.

I did a run with a blm and the time was pretty good, the next run i did it with another drg and we finished it faster...sooo those people who just want aoes are wasting their time.

There will always be some classes that are better suited for certain dungeons or events, etc.
Complaining about it solves nothing. Just move on and ignore such people. Allowing them to get to you just decreases your enjoyment. It is not productive nor worth it to entertain any thoughts of such people.
I am sure when the new patch comes, some classes with gain prominent while others fall, such is the life of MMOs. But what will stay the same is people's attitudes. -

Eh, I know it's how MMORPGs go, but people are turning the entire endgame grind into "BLM/BRD + tank/healer" and leaving out everyone else. Like I said, it doesn't affect me; I'm a tank, I run this stuff as a tank, and I run it with my FC, and we take whoever is on at the time, and we still get 12~15 minutes times.
But that doesn't mean I feel it isn't wrong.
I'm glad SE already noticed 'hey, BRDs are overperforming, and WARs are underperforming' but it won't make everything magically better. I'd love to already know how big 2.1's balance changes will be. -

I admire your sense of justice. But having people looking for specific jobs and not running with anything else actually goes a long way to neutralizing toxic members of the community. Because they are sitting in Revs spamming not out grouping.

Main reason you want a brd is for the final fight. The bard will run around killing up to a maximum of 4 tonberries. It's easiest to use ranged dps so that lessons chance that your going to get hit plus having aoe helps a hell of a lot during the dungeon. A Blm is also good because they can sleep the mobs meaning less hits on the tank and an easier run.
