Level 50 Quested Tools vs Luminary, why isn't there a difference?

I've been meaning to ask for awhile and I would like some feedback about this but does anyone else agree that the Luminary Tools should be ever so slightly better than the level 50 quested Tools. As it stands right now you can spend 10 min to buy all the items you need for DoH/DoL quests and get your blue level 50 Tool, or you can spend weeks (for anyone not spending all their time) getting your Luminary weapon. I posted some screenshots below to get my points across, I feel that Luminary should be slightly better, not much, but just a lil better than the level 50 quested tools.

1. The Luminary Tools only exist to keep the people happy from 1.0 that ended up getting one.
2. There's no difference because they only exist in the first place to keep DoL/DoH on equal footing with DoM/DoW in terms of "Relic weapons".
3. The Achievement ones are something, as stated by SE you'll eventually unlock just crafting normally (1.0 era) but as we know people decided they had to "grind for it", which is partly true since they were released after most people botted leveled crafts in 1.0, but newer players were obtaining them by simply crafting gear throughout their career.

Overall, Yoshi said this game was going to be easier and more accessible, so handing out 1.0 items essentially is part of that accessibility change.

Sure but why not make the Crafting Tools have say +110 Craftsmanship and +63 Control or something, just a very small increase, I'd be happy with that.

Same reason why all achievement items aren't better than what one can get through quest/dungeons. It's because they are achievements, a trophy item not something that is needed but rather something that just shows you achieved said achievement. If they made an achievement item better than what can be gained through quest then said item would no longer be something which is seen as an achievement but rather something you have to achieve in order to remain competitive.

Said it before, I'll say it again. Luminaries should be given a way to be upgraded, just as relics did.

So then what's the point of giving an item at all if its just for achievement? You could just leave it at the Title in that case.

They are identical in stats so that 1.0 players didn't have too large of an advantage over new players. They already have a head start on gil/materials/gear/levels/GCseals/GCranks/etc., the last thing they need is another advantage of best-in-slot gear that takes a ton of time, energy, and money to obtain.

Before you ask, no, I'm not a butthurt newbie. I have three luminaries myself from 1.0 that I wasted far too many hours obtaining, but this is the only explanation that makes sense to me. I was mad when I first found out, but I've come to terms with it, and prefer it this way now.

It's cause 80% of players who got luminaries used programs to obtain them. I'm pretty sure SE is well aware of that.

The luminaries are different. They look awesome when you use them. What you are getting with the achievement are cool points, nothing more.

I don't have any of the Luminary yet, I don't really have any reason to get them either if they are the same stats.

there arent needed since you can start 99 quick synth every 10 minutes ...

takes 1 day of beeing semi-afk to get a luminary tool now, if you have all shards etc

I don't have much room to comment cause my Miner isn't that high yet but there are a lot of people who like shinies (me included). I mean, not making comparisons because to be fair there isn't one at all, but GW2 was based around the idea that looks > stats, and has a large amount of players based on that alone. For a lot of people looking good is part of their end goal and is all about personal play styles. This makes the luminary pick far from useless because it's a trophy, like others have said, and looks different from all the other miners using Mammon.

Its just the fact that the tools with equal stats have drastically different amounts of work to earn.
Look at Lu Shang in 11. You do the time, you gain the benefit of a superior tool. equal stats diminishes its worth.

A solution to this dilemma would be to have the soon-to-arrive treasure map content to offer rewards which are used as components for the upgrading of luminaries, but not quest tools.

As a person who legitimately (yes, I did not bot because I abhor that kind of behavior) grinded my way to get all the luminaries (minus FSH) in 1.0, I am not angry with how SE handled them stat-wise for ARR. No one is forced to get them. I had a goal and I went for it and was aware of what I was getting myself into at the time. However, if SE decides to do something about it, I won't complain. :P

P.S. All my friends who knew and still know me from 1.0 will tell you I crafted a lot. Seriously. lol

I would be happy with them having the same stats if the Luminary at least had a unique appearance like the L50 quest tools do.

I worked hard on my GSM luminary never botted never would...it took me a absolute age with doing it here and there and i felt some kind of achievement when i had earned it, its the only luminary i have i do remember they said they may be able to upgrade them in the future but that was a long time ago.

Because Luminary tools are achievement rewards
Not a single achievement reward is a bit of superior gear, they really are basically vanity gear.

Luminary tools are just not useless like most of achievement rewards

Does the table or whatever you're working on look any different from the quest tool's one?

I rather like them, at least on my non legacy server. One of the few ways to stand out in the sea of every crafting job looking identical in town. Had I started on a legacy server I certainly wouldn't have bothered with getting them (have 2 so far)

Nope its crap lol we don't even get a posh table :( wish id have known in Version 1 don't think i would have bothered!

I'm disappointed that's allot of work you have to do to get those I mean massive work.

I guess it's better then just a title but still.
