Flotilla! Small Free Companies Unite!

So you’re in a small Free Company. Your reasons could be many. Perhaps your free company hasn’t yet grown to the size you want it, or you prefer a tightknit group of your favorite people to play with, maybe even you have an RP company of all DRGs or WHMs. But that doesn’t mean that it has to be difficult to organize your own raids, FATE groups, trials and other group oriented activities or find those people who are looking for someone to join them in these activities. Let the small Free Companies of Famfrit band together to achieve their common goals! If we work together we can create coalition to conquer every aspect of this game while still respecting players and their desire to maintain their unique Free Company identity. I propose the expansion of Flotilla – The linkshell.

The word flotilla is defined as a fleet of small vessels, often organized and working together to achieve a common goal. The benefits I see to the creation and expansion of the Flotilla LS are as follows-

1.) Access to more players means increasing the chances you can find that particular class/job you’ve been looking for your group, raid, crafting needs etc.
2.) Flotilla linkshell would give small free companies a chance to build a reputation among one another. Do you have a small group of good, eager and ever improving players in your free company? Your free company could become known for that or you could come to know a free company like that.
3.) Keep your friends close and keep your free company identity. No need to assimilate into large free companies if you don’t want to.
4.) Escape the tyranny of cross realm PUGs
5.) Exchange of ideas. Different free companies will have different levels of knowledge about the game. You could be the teacher or student.

I hope that some people will see the potential of Flotilla that I see. I really feel it could strengthen the Community. Thank you for setting this up. Our free company may seem larger than most, we have 64 people on the roster, but maybe only 20 that actively play and roughly 10 really consistent players in multiple time zones which can be tricky trying to get 8-person stuff done. (We're in process of weeding out the non-subs which will prob bring our roster into the 20s)

If possible myself, Matryona Graystone, and Toxic Cupcake would like an invite to the LS when you can, we are both Officers in Serenity. Thank you very much.

Watch out with Matt Chayba. It appears his account was sold and its a newb now. Just ran AK with him. He didn't know what Protect was and that he should wait for it, nor did he know Scholars have pets. He repeatedly mentioned drugs. Then after another wipe he ran in and pulled with our BLM locked out, instant wipe. It was hysterical how bad this guy was. He didnt speak the entire run, except near the end he kept asking about drugs. I thought he didnt speak english until the end. We were past demon wall before he spoke, ignoring the mages asking him which bee to kill first. Did not know how to mark targets. Silence, just charging in with no buffs or healer pet or mages ready. Probably busy 'smoking', from his later comments.

Whether i am right or wrong about the account sale, or maybe his little sister sharing it or whatever, you probably do not want a tank in Coil who has never heard of Protect, can't target mark, and didnt know healers can have pets.

(at least our mage admitted he was playing a friends account and accepted advice from the other BLM)

Its also possible he was just really bored with AK and watching a movie or something, but there were enough red flags that his account had been sold that I felt compelled to warn his server - he was that bad considering his excellent gear.

I'm sorry you feel that way about Matt. Truthfully, I don't know him. He's been quiet and I've had no meaningful interaction with him.

I must ask, why did you choose to post this here in my recruitment thread? If you wanted to warn Famfrit that Matt's account may have been sold/compromised wouldn't a new dedicated thread be more appropriate?

I can only think you must've wanted someone in this LS to hold him accountable for his actions on that AK run. The LS was created to bring small FCs together for all grouping purposes(mostly end game), build a strong community and earn a reputation for themselves. For now my expectation is that FCs should hold their own members accountable for their conduct. I realize the difficulty here is that Matt is the leader of his FC.

I will only eject members if they are consistently violating LS chat rules of conduct or too many LS members have complaints about a particular person or FC. I'll keep your warning in mind. If what you say is true and was not a momentary lapse in Matt's judgement he could very well make a bad reputation for himself in the LS and lose representation in Flotilla.

Just posting to say I've had a very positive experience with the flotilla linkshell so far. There are plenty of people I've made friends with and have enjoyed continued dungeons with.

I really like the idea of this. I am new to Famfrit and eager to contribute to the community. When the game came out I was stuck on a JP server, and just randomly picked an NA server to call my home. I play with a couple of RL friends, they are a bit more casual than myself, but I want to see the endgame and what it has to offer. I am in Full DL / Relic +1 / Valor gloves, and 2 Hero's accessories. Looking to find solid and reliable Coil group, currently on turn 4 with Solstice.

I am loyal to my friends and have created an FC with about 10 active members. I enjoy all aspects of the game, from dungeons to crafting to FATES to just hanging out. I am always up to help out a player in need. Seems like everyone keeps to themselves and Havent been able to make many friends.

I shouted a couple times in the cities but no one got back to me, and then I found this post. Please send me an invite, I'll see you all around! :)

Hello Slayheim, I wanted to let you know that I've seen your post. I haven't had a lot of time to be online lately due to moving and all. I've had one opportunity to search for you but I didn't find you online. Ill keep trying. I should be on between 6-8 pst tonight.

I really like this idea, I am in a small FC of mostly IRL friends, we try to play when we can. Most of our consistent players are tanks and healers, and we would be very interested in joining Flotilla. I would love to be able to do more content and at a more brisk pace than currently.

I will see you guys in-game (hopefully).
