Hallowed gound?

what is with the ofdd delay with Hallowed ground after I cast it and it goes on CD it still takes a sec to give me the effect?

Same as every ability in the game.

I toss it up to a combination of latency, and previous animations still playing. But yea know what you mean, just gotta use it a little per-emptively, still a very useful ability.

This is kinda frustrating, I hope its a lag issue that will be fixed in 2.1 but as it stands right now, its supposed to be an 'oh snap' kind of skill. But the lack of responsiveness while attempting to use it make it anything but.

No ability will trigger if there is another attack animation occurring. This is intentional.

Every ability requires the user to wait for animation... Sucks but you can learn to time it and use it perfectly.

i get the waiting for animation thing that makes sense, but my problem here is when i cast it when I am low on health and die before the animation is up; It still goes on CD even though i never really got to use it

You guys should actually try the ability before bashing him for "as others abilities" ^^

There are three problems combined. First one is, as you said, that you need to wait for previous animation to finish. Second is the lattency of the server. Third one is that still, the ability take a frigging second to take effect due to a super long animation of its own. This is INDEPENDENT of the two other problems, and akin to what happens with other long animation effects like raise and LBs.

All 3 combined can indeed make it look like the ability take forever to go off, and make you put the ability on colldown while still dieing an embarassing proportion of the time. All in all, it is a good thing encounters are super scripted, because if you are not able to plan several second in the future by saying "the boss is going to use this soon, i am low on health, the healer is probably not going to have me topped off in time, i need to stop what i am doing and be ready to use it if the healer doesn't make it in time", then it will be useless.

If the intent is to give you an oh'shit button allowing you to avoid an unexpected death, the effect is missed by a mile and a half. The only use of the ability, as a consequence, is to cover up for healers being overloaded (still great, but, yeah).

I still think for such an over-powered move, its completely intentional by design to have a short-delay.
That's my guess at least.

The delay is universal. It doesn't matter the power of the ability. One of the CM's posted that it is intentional in another thread.

Yes, yes people we are all aware there is an animation delay on instant skills. The problem is Hallowed Ground's delay is roughly three times longer than other skills.

Hit Hallowed Ground
1 second passes
Hallowed Ground goes on cooldown
1 more second passes
Invulnerability effect kicks in.

Dying between the skill being used and actually becoming invulnerable is quite common considering it's situational use.

You could be a warrior and have nothing but Foresight, stop complaining !!! ... Warrior jokes aside, I dunno, I've noticed that too. Sometimes I have to spam click it to get it to go off at all.

Because all skills have a preparation animation, then effect, and then follow-through animation. Even simply raising the character's hand will result in a pause in the skill taking effect.

In other words, it's working as intended, I'm afraid.
