5 days in first impressions
Some of you out there might see this as hate but I assure you this is not I love this game and it is one of the few that in the past decade that has held my interest for more than a few days. I would just like to point out some issues I have and ask if there are any planned fixes.
1- No report gold spammer feature. Really?
2- We cant expand all bags at once? or even sort by type?
3- Classes have no interacting skills? There are no set up then destroy skills across class! This has been a staple of my FF experiences, WTF happened?
4- gathering is a royal PITA I have to completely change gear to do anything! why cant I have one gathering skill that when I select the tool for it just automatically switches out to the best gear available?
5- Facial customization sucks. Maybe small to some people, but I want my char to look something like me so i can live vicariously through him, 4 faces with minimal structural changes ended up making me just choose bland face x and not caring.
Game experience thus far...
I found the game simply amazing up in till beating the end game boss in less than two weeks of play, the story was awesome to follow along with, the rewards along the way pretty sweet, and the end results of being part of this story pretty cool...
Problem I find my self having now is i feel i can go no place till they add more to the game "Furthering the story", I find myself constantly waiting to get into instances to have people rage quit and drop simply because they have a bad first wipe or two, due to the way the "class/jobs/crafting/farming" works I cant effectively Q for instances and work on crafting while I Waite so I find myself standing around waiting for Q's to fill and instances to go, other wise I have a very short window of seconds to navigate windows just to juggle gear sets and accept the Q...

In playing other MMO's it has never been an issue of gathering and defending ones self in the wilds, in this game one totally forgets they are a hero/warrior in order to dawn their work gear and gather leaving them selves open to the harsh elements...
In my opinion the malty classing has always been a cool point of a FF online character but I feel it is more of a burden in FFXIV than it was in FFXI...
The crafting system is just O.K., I find through other its just a bit of tinkering as you lvl to ultimately always get good quality goods with little chance of failure once you find the notch, the fast synthase is a good touch with the option to take the time to craft a quality item but I can never see myself choosing to craft over grinding for the only thing that matters at my point in the game, this being TOMBS...

I find myself maxing out SEALS with nothing to spend them on, TOMBS are the only thing at this point I can set some sort of vague goal to better my gear with a limited selection of two sets of gear, once thees set are bought after repetitively grinding the imitated selection of instance just to get TOMBS I will have nothing further to look forward to in till further content is added to the game...
My other problem is Gill, it would seem the only people that carry any sort of gill in the game is Players, the NPC's have been around longer than the players and yet the "intelligent" NPC's/MOBS are the only ones that seem to have maybe 2-4 gill on them at any time, I can se the idea as to why this is "to keep grinding from being a market breaker in game?" but.. I find this lame, for one the only way after lvl 50 to make gill is to ether play the market or levies, and due to Gill flow control one can only do so many levies in a days time so we are back to playing a broken market...

My biggest problem with the game thus far is the advertisements plaguing chats, yes one can filter them out at the cost of sealing ones self off from the rest of open chat or you can hassle with the "not so user friendly" blocking system of typing out full whacked out names of spammers as they constantly flow freely across the chat box totally flooding out conversation you might have found interesting this was a problem for the first two weeks of playing GW2" after that I have never seen another seller spam, GW2 had a simple users friendly right click the name and "report for" option to blocking un-wanted chat user's and they delt with them, all this from a free to play... I don't see the point in paying to see advertisements or having to hinder my chat experiences just to fight around advertisements...
This all may be a bit of rambling but I normally get out there in a round about way what other's and my self are thinking, so make of it what you wish...
