Is death raising okay per ToS in Dungeons?

Still at certain points in AK I have teammates who insist on running past 5-6 enemies and dying just before the boss and to be raised. Is this suspension worthy? I'm not sure what is 'okay' and what 'isn't', since something similar to this was already fixed in the keep once. Sometimes they're okay if I tell them no, but others insist on doing this and I sometimes actually leave the party out of paranoia.

Same question for people doing the run to teleporter shenanagains in Prae. Is this okay? I end up completely avoiding Prae and just doing CM due to paranoia.

I am in no way encouraging any of this behavior, for as I said, if any of this goes on I leave the group. Any and all information would be helpful on if I'm just being overly paranoid. If this is okay, I'm making myself grind WAY more hours than I have to. Everyone I ask does not have a clear answer. Thank you.

Is it ok? no. Will Square actually do anything about people who want to do this to save an extra minute or 2? hell no. What I've found is that by trying it this route most of the time it fails horribly and we waste more time attempting it than it would have taken to just kill things. Even as a dps if they decide to do something like this now i'd sooner sit at the front of the instance and let them fail once or twice than actually try and contribute so maybe it won't fail. A 30 minute dungeon run isn't terrible to begin with for what it gives, shaving 2mins off just to exploit is something I choice not to take part in(if it were anything but an exploit and it really was just sneaking around mobs then I wouldn't mind).

well if you are RLY annoyed by these persons. u should looking for premade groups who wont do it.

otherwise there should be ppl in the internet who hasnt 490678082ß325 hours of playing each day and also want to beat their old best time...

It's not that I'm annoyed at these players, I just want to know if these tactics are okay with SE and their TOS. If it is, I'd join in. But until anyone can confirm if it's okay (which most people have no idea about), I rather just not do it. Hence why I'm inquiring here.

SE doesn't even have the manpower to take care of the constant RMT spam in every city on every server, doubt they're gonna bring out the special forces to take you out for saving 5 minutes in a dungeon run.

I think if you have to ask you probably shouldn't do it. Anytime someone offers up the strat of using the tree for the first boss I tell them I won't do it.

Ahhhh sac-pulling... I'm having nightmares about Dynamis already....

Really no reason to use the tree, any competent tank can handle the two golems and the boss.


As for sac pulling, I don't really see how it can be considered an exploit. You're not breaking the game, you still have to die in obscure spots, you're still sacrificing yourself and forcing your group to kill with 3 instead of 4 and unless you're using the medica glitch, you still get weakness.

I could have sworn that they will fix this in one of their future patches (I remember seeing it somewhere on the launcher), so yeah Square Enix doesn't support clearing dungeons that way, and is taking steps to try and prevent players from doing so.

I'm going to assume that since the res has no limitations but inflicts a negative debuff on you that it'll be okay to do so. I would love to hear SE's views on it.

No, you will not be suspended for dying and ressing in front of mobs. If Square wants this form of speedrunning to stop, all they have to do is make combat party-wide in dungeons. If one person is in combat, the entire party gets put into combat until one side is defeated.

SE already changed how AK works so that you can't simply train all of the trash mobs to each boss, you actually have to kill certain "objective" enemies to gain access to the boss.

How you go about traversing the dungeon is up to you, there has never been a single comment from the developers stating that sac'ing is against the rules (and nothing in the TOS forbidding it).

All of the people who say it isn't okay are the people who go on about "intent" of the developers. The only way to know intent is for someone to *tell* you their intent. SE has made no statement of what their intent was, other than that they changed the dungeon to correct "unintended" play. Those changes did not impact enemy aggro mechanics, so there is absolutely no reason to believe that being able to sacrifice past certain trash packs was the unintended play, and that only bypassing *all* trash between bosses was unintended.

The tree is clearly an exploit as it breaks enemy AI in a very obvious way. SE has been very unambiguous on the topic of intentionally breaking enemy AI. That certainly won't stop players from utilizing said exploit, but there is nothing else in the game one could use as evidence of how it's intended. Aggro mechanics are consistent across the game (aside from dungeon monsters not leashing based on distance) so there's plenty of justification that game mechanics are behaving normally when one sacrifices past trash.

Perfectly fine as well. The entirety of Turn 3 in Binding Coil is just training mobs past teleporters.
