Amdapor Keep Gear Recommendations?

I currently have my darklight subligar and the rest of my gear is artifact monk gear. Is puging for ak suicide right now? I need to run it for my grand company promotion and weapon

You can do ak in full af gear once you hit 50. However a word of warning, don't make it sound like you're only doing ak for the promotion and weapon(you'll be doing it far more due to myth and gearing up for titan/coil).

If you know how to play your class, then your gear will be not that big of an issue. Skill does more for you in AK, than Gear. Most important part is having a decent weapon (Darklight from Wanderers Palace or Ifrit+). Other then that make sure you have your accessories set, cause those will help a lot and are cheap to get from the Market Boards (Rubelite Stuff etc.) Other then that try to squeeze in Praetoriums and CM to get your Darklight Stuff ASAP. Once you got half DL on MNK, there shouldn't be any issue to join Shout groups for AK etc. and get it done quickly :)

Ya i plan on playing it many times. Getting the gc weapon early will help all my runs overall as it's just a bit weaker than the ifrit weapon. Plus i have a massive load of company seals with nothing to spend on. Thanks for the response

I've been spamming CM speedruns. Thats how i got my first dl piece. CM seems way easier than PM cause of the cannons :D

I dont know how you managed to get into a CM Speed Run without DL - Over here people demand at least 5 piece of DL and Garuda Weapon to be allowed in those.

If you are smart AK is fine in AF gear. But you have to play smart. No derping in that place.

I would suggest replacing most of your Level 45 AF gear with the stuff from Wanderer's Palace or Darklight. Also make sure to upgrade your accessories as well. I've seen people thinking they'red "geared" because they got some cool armor but they're still using level 38 accessories.

Oh I know Ive run it a few times with members of my FC and it wasn't difficult to heal at all in AF and a DL Necklace. I'm just saying there's a small group on Ultros who demand people be grossly overgeared for content instead of being geared appropriately. Just this morning someone was shouting for a group for HM Garuda - Requiring Full DL and a Titan Weapon from the Tank...Um...What?

Just bought hq imperial dps wristlets. Should help

As a monk, your only wall, will be the wall. Aside from that the adds and other two bosses are not a problem in mostly af.
On the wall just make sure to keep all dots on seeing how flank damage is not going to do anything for you. So you will always start with dragon kick, into twin snakes and only use snap punch when you can get on his side.
I just blow cds when I got 3 gl stacks, put my three dots on, howling fist and steel peek off cd. If the other dps in your group is just as geared, I would LB one of the fly adds so you have more room.

idk who set standard to do cm and ak speed run need darklight gear
i do with 2 tank first time at cm using ar gear,and other players not complete DL gear and use GC weapon
do very success run

so the one that set standard must be bad skill which need rely heavily on gear to cover bad at skill

Quick add on question. I am a warrior and just hit 50 and finished the story line. Can I do this dungeon in AF as well, or am i gonna be gimped as a tank?

At the very least get lvl49 accessories and a HQ lvl 50 Axe/Ifrit's axe an you should be fine.

In our server to get into CM speed runs you need to have relic+1 and 3 pieces of iLv90 gear.

Any advice on the demon wall as a healer? That boss is the bane of my ffxiv existance...

although im a knight, i didnt have any problem with AF1/49accesorySet and the 50GC Weap. as long as u know boss position and atk patterns it wont be a problem. maybe only whiny pt members that want dk set/garuda weap above will be your prob.

learn the boss' atk pattern, you will be fine as long as you can dodge the repetitive atk patterns. if you can do that and still fail then the problem lies in your other pt members.

did it only twice so limited experience but as a SCH
Don't fall, don't stay in the inside/outside dark lines, try to use succor before the push, remove debuff and if you can help DPS one of the gnat, it seems helpful (as long as no one dies), I use lustrate for quick healing while on the move and I force embrace from my fairy when I run
And I often place my fairy but for that fight I find it annoying so I keep her on follow

My only problem with this has been getting full DL or AF2 geared dps, them going full out dps before I can even touch a mob, and them crying about me needing to learn to tank when they pull aggro, seriously?

if you do it with a whole groupe of people in AF you will suffer and surely not do it.
my best advice is to get some armor from Wanderer's palace for replace your AF.

people saying is doable in AF are right and wrong, a tank can do it in AF, will be really hard, but a dps out of question!

Hmm, derp?

AK in full AF gear with a 40 something weapon (clearly he doesnt have the GC one as he is going in for that purpose) through the DUTY FINDER as a DPS is one of two things:

1) the other DPS is Relic Darklighted and hence carrying you through Demon WALL.
2) The other DPS has subpar gear & no experience of the place like you and NO MATTER how smart you think you are, you will not clear the place in a hundred years.

Dont listen to all that mumbo jumbo of advice from people out of touch with the reality because their FC buddies +1 are carrying them.
AK through the duty finder is HARDER than Ifrit, so farm CM for 2-3 body pieces of Darklight and get that Ifrit weapon so you dont look like the lazy DPS who is queuing for a boost.

Don't forget that iLevel 60 gear drops there so keep your eyes on the loot pool.

I agree that Amdapor Keep can be done in Artifact but it helps to go through Wanderer's Palace (despite the Tonberries) a few times first to find any iLevel 55 gear that can replace it. Castrum is also a good place to go to get tomes for Darklight accessories ahead of AK.

I still had only one piece of DL, 1 DPS had a couple more pieces of DL, atleast their lvl 50 weapons, and the other was almost full DL and had a garuda weapon, plus i had a scholar healer (YAY!). And best of all I didn't get yelled at when I screwed up on a pull. I really like not getting elists jerks when I'm fracking tanking.

I clear AK with AF and level 44 GC weapon, the other DPS was AF maybe with a piece of DL with level 50 GC weapon. Tank should be partial DL, forgot what's the weapon, no DL on healer.
Smooth run with no wipe, I die once at wall, got push down due to my angle was incorrect during to repel.

You do not need either AK/DL gear to do AK, having it just makes it easier, the only block will be demon wall since it's a dps race, the rest of the boss should not be a problem.
