Relic+1, yay or nay?

For the amount of mytho stones you could almost buy 2 pieces of AF2 and the stats on relic +1 don't seem to be that much of an increase compared to replacing a piece of DL. Is the extra 2 weapon damage worth it?

+1 relic is pretty much the biggest increase you can buy with Mythology currently. It's well worth it, that +2 base damage is similar to getting a huge chunk of STR.

Depends on the job, but if you are DRG then it's no question: get relic+1 before all else.

+1 dmg is +8 of the primary stat for your class plox, dmg wise that is.

Funny i been debating on this as well! almost ready to get enough tomes to get +1 for WHM Thyrus weapon. That was my main question? is it worth it for a WHM or should i get my AF2 body, which i been wanting as well and it free's up my head as i currently have the DL cowel...
Any feedback would be great, where can we check what the difference will be for my Thyrus +1?

Its the best upgrade for all but tanks.

For Bards, relic+1 is only +1 WD, +1.10 AA, and +4 dex (not counting vit, acc, and skill speed). I think other Bards mentioned it's better to go with AF2 legs over relic+1 for Bard.

Ok, i think i'll save my mytho and get +1 then, I'll be able to get it next week when i cap out.

+1 on weapon it's the way to go and we will see futher upgrades on the relics, possible +2 in the years to come.

In the grand scheme of things it honestly matters very little because if you have a decent raid group you'll be hitting turn 4/5 in coil with or without the +1 weapon. Honestly until they fix Twintania I'd say it comes down to whichever you prefer, do you like the darklight set or like looking like you just stepped out of ak? Are you fine with the base relic weapon and it's non glowie bits? I personally prefer looking like a bard again over doing a little bit more dmg(and hey af+1 is still far and away better than dl), if Twin was actually doable then yes I'd rather be able to pump out as much as possible but Square seems fairly fine leaving it as is till 2.1 where they may or may not address the fight so people can kill it.

I do recall reading that Yoshi (or another dev, I don't remember) said that they expect no more than 100 people to fully complete the Coil before 2.1 (due to the difficulty) but I don't recall reading anywhere saying that Twin needs to be 'fixed'. Link me if I'm wrong, I do like keeping up to date on this sort of stuff :)

There's a whole thread in the dungeon section where half of it is complaining just how broken half the mechanics in the fight are currently, no it is not a case of "well just change your strat" because with a good 50+ fcs on the fight and trying to progress everything has been tried at this point. Mechanics are preventing progress and as much as Square says otherwise their testing was done under "perfect" conditions where as on live there is lag or some other problem with half of it's mechanics(and no it is not just peoples computers or connections when everyone is having the same issues).

Waste of mytho unless you really like the look of relic. For one, coil is balanced around ilvl80 gear. Your relic is ilvl80, so you can just farm binding coil for the ilvl90 weapon drop. There's no reason to +1 your relic now because no content requires it. Now if your luck is awful, or if you just really prefer the relic over the coil drop, go ahead and +1 it.

The difference is noticeable from the normal relic. It's not something huge, but it's there and you can definitely feel it.

You're not farming coil though for weapon drops, no one is to be exact. Twintania drops weapons for every class and thus far not a single group in the world has killed him outside of an exploit, when they eventually fix his mechanics sure you could probably farm him for weapon drops but until then most people in groups worth mentioning that are on him will already all have their +1 weps which are equal to or slightly worse than his drops.

Glow > everything

1) +1 a relic only if the +1 will be better than your Allagan version (Bahamut's Coil).
2) The +1 Gae Bolg remains the better item when compared to the Allagan weapon for DRG. However the Allagan weapon for MNK is better than their +1.
3) Is 3 Weeks of farming AK (7 AK runs + 5 HM Ifrit = 300... 75 HM Ifrit = 300) worth it for you, or will you be running the Bahamut's Coil well before then?
4) PLD tend to +1 the shield as this takes only 300 (their sword is 600).

You should get +1 sooner or later, just decide which you want first. The time it takes is ridicilous little.
