SMN mythology pieces

So i have amassed enough Mytho tombs to finally get the body, however should that be the first piece i prioritise? The rest of my gear is DL and Demoguegue where DL is not available and using AF body as i wont wear the DL cowl (just think of it like the FFXI republican Subligar lol).

So what about the other pieces/accessories? Which order should they be attained? Any info from the more experienced Summoners out there?

Will have DL legs today (earring was left to last as the upgrade was only 1INT if not mistaken)

To me it seems the Body and the legs seem to give the best returns, and should be got first?

for mythology jewelries, get bracer and neckpiece, this avoids spellspeed as much as possible, or you could just get the helm. after that, depending on the allagan loot you're getting and much depending on accuracy, you could get gloves.

EDIT: oh you don't have the body? I'd get that if you can, really good crit and determination. (relic +1 is a bigger upgrade btw, but it's not best in slot)

havent started Coil yet, still not found a group smart enough to keep out of plumes... Im like a ninja now (except when i fall asleep mid-battle at 2am lol). Yet people come in, FULL af, GC weapon -_-;;; Will get win eventually, (hoping this weekend with FC event). But yeah was just looking at ways to improve my self to help int he fight that bit more. Yeah i thought the body would be the logical first purchase. The head has a nice chunk of crit also at 21 which is also nice.

legs are really good, it's just that it's worth 825 for something that is not best in slot.

not all jewelry, prioritize neck and bracer if you are planning to buy jewelries, it has no spellspeed. no spellpeed = good since better stats are allocated in it.

hey Glim, yeah that was my thinking on the legs also. DL should keep me tied up for now. So ill priorise the following for now:

Body
Head
Neck
Bracer
Gloves
Legs

In that order. Body still seems the logical first choice upgrade with the huge crit bonus :)

if you don't see your self clearing turn 5 any time soon, I suggest getting relic + 1 first, it is by far the best upgrade you could get once you get your veil of wiyu.

but the stats are:

NQ/HQ

Auto-Attack: 45.76 - 47.84 (+2.08)
DPS: 14.10 - 14.74 (+0.64)
Delay: 3.12 - 3.12 (+0)

Vitality +27 - +32 (+5)
Intelligence +27 - +31 (+4)
Determination +16 - +18 (+2)
Spell Speed +33 - +37 (+4)


Compared to Body:

NQ/HQ

Vitality +14 - +29 (+15)
Intelligence +14 - +29 (+15)
Critical Hit Rate +23 - +34 (+11)
Determination +11 - +17 (+6)

Body is giving me over treble the INT which is my main dmg stat. I am not saying what you are saying is wrong, im just trying to understand why the Relic+1 would be better than the body which not only more than triples my INT gain but triples my VIT for survivability, and also increases my crit a fair chunk to add further to my dmg boost. The more i understand the better a player ill become ^^

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the +3 Magic Damage on the Veil+1 alone is worth more than the entirety of the increase in INT on the AF2 body.

Oh really?

I been looking around for formulas and stuff (use to be a formula nut in FFXI) but was unable to find much. Like how much crit to increase a %tage etc. Stats to help me fine tune as it were xD Happen to have any links for this?

At the very least this is how it works for physical damage, I am assuming it's the same for magic damage as well. I believe it comes out as something like each 1 point of WD is equivalent to about 7ish STR (in the case of physical damage).

1% crit rate roughly equals 13 crit stat. 10 Spell Speed is a .01 drop in GCD.

Basically, for everyone, +1 weapon>>>>>>everything else. WD serves as a multiplier to damage, so higher WD makes everything else more valuable. The only anomaly is BRD thanks to their low weapon damage on relic+1 and unusually high stats on the body piece, but even then, as soon as you upgrade past Darklight on any piece, the Bow is better.

So, basically, save for your +1. It's by far your biggest damage boost and you'll notice a pretty considerable difference even going from relic to relic+1.

Honestly if you are doing coil, do belt, legs, necklace or earrings first. those are the turn 4 & 5 loot. You have a higher chance of getting the coil chest and head first and regretting spending myth.

When i find a group that DOESN'T fail in beating Titan then yes.... But as it stands uits usually me and the healer left standing after every ones dead from plumes lol

Try calling out plumes.

Its what I've taken to doing

<se.8>Plumes<se.8>

Plumes are after first stomp (which comes after first mountain buster) and second mountain buster.

After your group can avoid plumes, the next is knowing how to bait the landslides during bombs.

Finally beat Titan and got me my relic+1 which im over the moon with :D

Now onto my next question. Looking at the stats Summoners Doublet is better than a melded Vanya, yet people say get the Vanya instead, why? Got a friend that can HQ so will be the HQ version, but it loses 9 VIT and 9 INT.

Looking above it seems Mytho pieces drop in Coil? Is this the case?

Not digressing from the original point, should i go Vanya melded with full crit, or 1 VIT, 1 INT and 2 Crit, or go Mytho body?

Well one costs a capped currency, and the other only costs philo (or gil). So really its an odd comparison.

Of course the myth (or allagan from coil) is better, but you can get the vanya without slowing down your acquisition of other pieces.

I think I want to echo what others have been saying, which is, get your relic, do a week or two of coil runs, and only buy gear if it is hindering your groups progress, or after you've picked up some coil pieces, then replace the ones you didn't get with myth.

The worst thing is buying your shiny new AF2 only to immediately get the same drop in coil.

Yeah can imagine, so basically go with vanya and accessories seeing as accessories are form coil 4 and 5. I already have my relic+1 so thats done with.

So in regards to melding, should i go 1 vit 1 int and 2 crit or crit x4 all the way?

The mytho headpiece also looks very good, so i may upgrade that if i am getting vanya body HQ. But yes i get your point in having it drop within the first 2-3 runs :/ would be heart breaking ; ;

I do not have the money for a vanya piece, so take this with a grain of salt.

From what I know, an HQ piece will max out all primary stats, as well as one? secondary stat at least. This means that int on an HQ Vanya will not do anything.

For the rest, I would slot crit until they cap (you'll see red on your materia when you go to socket it, and so that means that piece is already hitting the cap).

Then go determination and then...piety, if you've hit accuracy cap.

If you're not HQ, I would go int until cap and then crit.

From what people in coil have been saying, vit is not important (or at least, additional vit is inconsequential) so I would not slot that ever.

Don't mean to hijack the thread with questions of my own but I think it's better than creating a new thread with the same purpose.

For my SMN I tried to do a best in slot analysis and I think I determined:
allagan book>relic +1
myth chest > allagan chest
myth hat > allagan hat

The rest of the gear didn't seem to matter all too much whether I went Allagan or Myth. I usually just prioritize the gear that gives me crit.

Here are my questions:
1. For SMN is there an accuracy mark that you have to meet for turn 4/turn 5 of Bahamut's coil?
2. Will my DPS be good enough for coil with a normal relic weapon + af2 body/AK mask (until I can afford vanya hat or get coil drop or get myth horn in 2 weeks) assuming the rest of my gear is DL. This will cut out 13 castrum runs for me and allow me to have my summoner ready to go for coil by the end of the week.

I enjoy playing summoner so I don't mind spending my 940 mythology points on it this week. I am just trying to determine the best way to spend them and right now I am leaning towards going into the coil with AF2 body/normal relic weapon/AK mask/rest DL. Does this sound acceptable? Also curious about the accuracy question. If anyone has a better suggestion on how to spend the points let me know. I am interested in only spending mythology on best in slot items if possible.

bump! what is the accuracy required by a summoner to do turn 4 of coil?

Well Allagan weapon is better than Relic +1, Yoshi even stated this. Relic is entry and relic+1 is better for coil. Accuracy wise i believe its somewhere around 450 you need. As for pieces i upgraded relic to +1 and havent regretted it. The weapon it self gives me a bigger boost than the body would. hope that helps

That's pretty much what I came up with potato. I will be shafted on accuracy though for a while if I go for the top first. I suppose I could go for the gloves first to boost my acc but I don't know. Depends on how much I need for coil.

my current gear has me at 420 and i have a 99% hit on everything but turn 5 and that is at like 95% also im not using accuracy food

it seems like for earrings and ring, HQ 5 melded is better than the allagan and mythology items ONLY if you need the accuracy, and judging by your best in slot list, you do need the accuracy. but someone has told me accuracy cap is 437, some people say 452, some say 472. so I'm too not sure..

Sorry if this had been said but, I do "believe" it has been calculated for every wep damage it is equal to 4 of your primary stat INT/STR/DEX for dps classes. So for example if Relic +1 gives you 3 more wep damage it is equal to the amount of damage from 12 additional INT/STR/DEX.

This is a huge debate for me. Our server has little to NO summoners raiding. I am the best geared summoner on our server... here is a link to my profile. I really need insight on best in slot. I was going to save for Myth Chest and then go from there. Give me your input, especially with jewelry please, because that site doesn't take melds into account.

You only need to consider accuracy if you're not using food like Lava Toad Legs which will give you a whopping 22 accuracy alone. It's like 3k worth in mats per craft.

Basically, use food to overcome whatever gap in gearing you see.

I always have omelets or toad legs... I just need to figure out best in slot. There does not seem to be a distinct answer. PLUS you need higher accuracy for your pet as well apparently. we have checked on meters. GIVE ME INPUT!!!
