Titan Hard Primal Battle. To Hard? Or To Laggy?

I've been trying to finish Titan Hard Primal Battle for like 5 days straight, from shouts to Duty Finder. Every time I get in my party Fails. Now it always seems like its Lag when we fail. I by no means am a excellent dodger for Titan's AoE moves, but I can dodge just about 95% of them. Dealing with Ifrit and Garuda Hard Primal Battles weren't really all too bad. And maybe I'm just imagining it but seems to me Titan does way too much Damage and too many AoEs in a row. Sometimes giving Healers not much time to heal anyone. (speaking about points past Heart Phase)

I don't know, just totally fed up on it. I'm probably on my 0/34 no win streak (That's a never have won battle yet kinda thing.) I highly suggest people read and give their experience for this fight and possibly could get this looked into. Its just way too hard.

Only 5 days? lol I've been at this crap for 2 weeks now. It's actually not that hard, I've just seen people who can't dodge at all, sometimes they'll just stand there and take the damage. I've had a pt of full dl people, still failed. I also had a pt where the healer decided not to cure me halfway through the fight or people who don't listen and don't build up the lb so then it's harder to beat the heart

I noticed on every run I do, we get passed the heart on the first try, then wipe because of something, then every other try we do, we get worse to the point where people die before 2nd jump :/ I'm at the point where I just feel like paying the 300k to get a win and be done with this bs.

Easy just like the other "Hard Mode" Primals. Need more coordination, and people need to refrain from panicking when something goes wrong.

The battle is not too hard, but there is something of a luck element, unless your people have done it a dozen times, but moreso the answer is just to solidly remember the fight and know what to expect next at each go, and how to react to that.

If you ask me, SE needs to fix this, not because the fight is unbeatable, but because MMOs--like this one--have the technology to move away from scripted fights. If the game communicated better, we could have fights where the boss does whatever the boss wants, largely whenever the boss wants to. And that, would be a blast.

It's neither hard or too laggy, just needs practice, ive spent around 10 hours a few weeks ago on it, just to barely kill it. Now i farm it, its practice, and its a very well designed fight

The EU lagg on 140ms isnt helping, (140ms is one way)
A server park in say for example Germany would do wonders for every EU player..
Its still possible to do with "high ping" (yes in 2013 this is HIGH PING) As a former FPS player to the core I know how ping works. In FFXI we didnt have to move around alot other form of strategy there then in ffxiv. I realy love the new ffxiv with movement positioning etc etc. Put this again requiers better ping. And the game is more in the FPS scheme in needing good ping to play good. When u see a red circle on the ground below you with high ping, the circle was there even b4 you saw it, and thats why u get hit even though you moved out on your screen. So this is resulting that every EU player needs to move 2-4 seconds faster then the average USA or Canada player. (servers are in Toronto if you didnt know).

So servers in Europe is NEEDED!!! If not every EU player is playing with a HANDICAP. So if you beat Titan from europe you are actually "better" then the players beating him in US. (dont deny it, ping is a handicap if hig and an advantage if low)
Just wait until PVP comes. Then ping = everything !!! (try railgun or lightning gun in Quakelive with 140 ping. Its impossible to use.) Im playing from Norway , so in my head Germany or other country in the "middle" of EU is the ONLY solution.

Think of DF HM Titan as a coffee filter.
What comes out of the filter is delicious and aromatic coffee (Good/Average players) and what's left back there are those little bits of sediments that can't be filtered through (Below average players).
Those who are doing Titan now can see it themselves, you're starting to be grouped with players who are fully geared in DL + Garuda weapon but for some odd reason, the group just can't get past the heart phase.

And it'll only get worst.

it seems you are having trouble with stomps, all your party members must have at least 3k hp, your healers must also be able to anticipate when stomps are coming and spam medica to soak up the damage.

weight of the land (bubbles) are almost impossible to dodge on reaction due to lag and SE's weird positional checks, you can however anticipate it or just move around more frequently to reduce the chances of it placing you in the center.

It's laggy for some i guess, but some are just terrible players :)
I was held back for around 2 weeks, cause ppl just can't seem to dodge stuff.
Then we got enough ppl in FC to clear up to Titan, and bam we farm him. Killed him 5 times in an evening, and got 9 ppl through.
It's just about doing it with people that practiced the fight many times, in pug or whatever, so you know all the moves.
When you know all the mechanics it's quite easy.

From what i hear titan stomps more times, the longer the fight goes on; so if you build LB to much, you'll probably wipe after heart, cause he's stomping some 7 times.
You need good DPS, not build LB. With good DPS a single bar of LB is enough to take down heart. If you can't do it like that, you're probably going to fail the DPS race after heart anyways.
There's the option of tank LB for later stomp spam too.

Don't buy wins...it doesn't solve anything. If you need to buy win for Titan, you're going to have to buy win for every turn of coil, CT, Bahamut, Primal Extreme, and every new content that comes a long; and every time you want to clear one of those contents, you'll have to pay someone...you're going to end up broke in no-time.
Just get a bunch of nice ppl together, and stick with it.
Teamspeak or some such, does wonders too, with someone telling Titan skill rotation, and telling ppl what to do; the fight becomes a breeze.

the trouble is not really the lag, it's a trouble true but not the main one, it's the fact you need to know the pattern of the boss perfectly for be ready to avoid everything coming. and if you miss one dodge, passed p3 is dead. no one must die if you want to do it. it's a survival battle that recquire you to be at the top for 10-15 minutes.
- is that hard? not really
- why people don't do it? because an error is fatal in this fight, no death, no error allowed.
- do the lag make the combat harder? yep, if you lag a lot it will make it near impossible to do it. mostly because you are not allowed to do an error.
- do it need a nerf? maybe reduce a little the damage, something like 5% for allow the uncontrollable error (spike of lag)

by the way doing it in DF can be very hard because you got 2 tank when only one is needed, making it harder to do it.

From Europe the lag is very heavy. I myself had often no way to dodge its AOE. I was 5 steps outside of the zone but still got hit. The same for the gaol : very often my character is stuck outside of the goal, frozen 3 steps away because the server consider my character is in the gaol, while on my screen I'm 3 steps away.

There is nothing to do but to think that this game wasn't designed for us.

After weeks of Lagg, Which I shouldnt have to put up with! Since we complained about this enough with Ifrit in 1.0.
& The other primals with Lagg are not as bad as Titan ~ Although i cant properly/acceptably to the DF's Standards tank Garuda due to lagg/Slipstream. But that doesnt make it un-doable Like Titan.

*But if you practice for weeks & know the rotations you can dodge almost anything in Titan EXCEPT PLUMES. they will get you final phase Everytime!

New Zealand 360ms ping so some lagg is to be expected. Although Tera on EU server is 450ms ping to 600ms ping & bearly laggs for a second & the fights are doable with it, BEcause its not 3 seconds+ at times like ARR.

Going through my Western Server I now play at 160ms Ping & Its much better!! Except Titan still laggs as bad as 360ms ping connection!

The ARR Team need to fix it, or fix the fight. then adjust the extreme one for people who claim they have good connections.

Didn't read other replies but to answer the post topic question:

Too laggy. That's it. A bit of DPS race in heart phase, but I wouldn't say that's hard.

As for healers and AOE, pretty much the only AOE party takes 100% is the stomp. Every other AOE can be avoided, every, reliably (well, if not for stupid ass lagfest that is FF14 for us unfortunates).

1 Tank *should* be enough to hold Titan. You will need to know what you'll have to eat for party safety and how to manage cooldowns to reduce the damage you take / recover the HP you lost.
4 DPS *should* be enough to clear heart, without using Limit Break. This is assuming they're all geared and playing up to potential. No I don't mean they need to already have Relic, but having at least Ifrit's weapon, Garuda's is better and minimum ilvl 60 in each slot.
2 Healer *should* be enough to keep everyone up. This is assuming everyone has 3k+ (3.5k better) HP, and there are rotations to reduce damage from Table Flip on the tank (Str Down, Virus, Rain of Death etc.).

The Duty Finder is NOT your friend for this fight. Find a group of people, try for an hour, take a break, go back and try again. Plan to get together again tomorrow. Even if you don't see these people after you clear you can work together to make sure everyone is on the same page.

the major problem most people have is weight of the land. Its cast time is rather fast(prob too fast if u have latency at all). Most groups prepare for thsi by having the tank call it or call it ahead of time so u can start moving out to anticipate it and dodge. This fight just requires everyone to dodge and to do it well. its not a dps race(besides the heart) some people need to slow down and just focus on living and they would be a lot more successful in this fight. I think though truthfully SE needs to slightly increase weight of the lands cast time. by at least .5secs.

i think the best change for make it... less impacted by the lag is to increase cast time of weigt of earth of 1 second, what do you think?

I found Titan HM very difficult too, but I did it after about 10 hours of practice with a static group. THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED. You need a static group to practice with. Everyone needs to know what they're doing and how to do it. The problem arise after heart phase. If you don't get past heart phase then you're just doing something wrong. We were all using RaidCall (voice chat) to communicate and we had one guy who had memorized the rotation and called out a coupe of seconds before which attack was gonna come next. I think this is very crucial for completition. (1000 character limit) tbc...

It took us 10 hours, even while knowing which attack was going to come and how to dodge it. We decided how to avoid the plumes after heart phase. Because they spawn after tumult under every player and if everyone's spread out, no one will survive. This is one of the most crucial points of survival. If you don't know how to survive the plumes post heart phase then you can't do it. We all gathered in middle during tumult, used AoE heals and then SPLIT just at the exact moment when titan cast plumes. Everyone comes out without taking any dmg and with full health because of AoE heals. You also need to know how to avoid the "row bombs". You get near the middle bomb, because titan is going to use landslide during this, so you will have to avoid that most likely. If you're in the middle you will be able to avoid it in every situation. When he hits landslide, you MOVE at the exact same moment to the middle and you will escape with full health. Master this and you're good to go.

Which makes the attack a joke for those without lag. The lag's been getting easier as of late, I only got hit by lagged plumes a few times. Those with throttled connections are still having lag problems, though. :/

Sadly, even if lag is gone, some people just can't dodge at all.

I beat it after about 2-3 hours of trying, in total, spanning two days. Once you learn the rotation, it all comes down to those small lag spikes and how well others do.

Personally I generally have about (checked via cmd~) 300ms-600ms (NZ to JP server) ping in this fight (depending on time of night I'm playing), which makes it annoying but once you know the attack rotations it is easy to dodge (just have to move before the attacks even appear/start casting). The thing which ruins the fight for me is having lag spikes, where nothing will move for anywhere from 2-25 seconds (and sometimes he becomes invisible after jumping, or rock bombs don't appear...? very rarely though), and then I just end up dead. The fight itself I feel is perfectly tuned and a good final step for getting relic (getting relic isn't meant to be a cake walk), however the lag (and primarily the spikes of lag) makes the fight more awkward and frustrating than it was designed to be in my opinion. I went about 1/20 or so when doing this for my bard relic, and am currently 0/6 for my whm relic.

It's not hard, it's lag.
