I am level 35 leveling my alt doing brayfox and I find it very hard to heal... Basically what I do is use cure until free cure 2 is active and if I fall behind and tank is below 50% I use cure 2. Still find myself struggling.

Can't outheal dmg taken by the Tank?
Reduce the Damage taken by the Tank!
Sleep the mobs.
Grinded Brayflox 15+ times to gain gear. I've also ran Brayflox as a Paladin quite a few times on my main character.
First, I'll state that Warrior is far and beyond easier to heal than Paladin this go round. This isn't due to preference, it's due to the fact that Warrior gets Defiance at level 30, which increases their HP and increases the healing gained through Wrath stacks. Paladin only has Sword Oath and cooldown rotations.
There's some factors to look out for:
-Overall DPS intake that your tank is taking.
-How well the tank is holding aggro.
-How strong your DPS members are (kill speed is important).
-If your party is focusing on a single target each time.
-Status effects such as poison.
-Sleeping targets.
Even when I didn't have Battlemage gear, I healed through Brayflox without much problem. The only time I've ran out of MP is when tanks aren't avoiding red zones, or if the DPS is terrible and bosses take way too long to kill. The latter has happened far more than the former.
Esuna poison effects, sleep appropriate mobs (you can also sleep the 2nd boss when the add shows up. Really helps with healing), and tell your DPS to not AoE anything when you're sleeping stuff. If you're doing all of that and still can't keep your tank healed, then something is wrong with your party and you need to find out what. You've already figured out one problem (your DPS is waking up mobs and therefore is increasing the tank's damage intake, if not their own). Other problems could be undergeared tanks, or DPS who aren't focusing on the tank's target.
At level 35, you should have been putting all bonus attribute points into mind. Then check the market board to make sure you have the best possible gear for your level. And don't forget the accessories. And sometimes other players will make it difficult. Not much you can do about that.
Brayflox was the first dungeon i came across sleeping
The tank asked me to do it one run and i was skeptic but it was such a massive difference that it is actually worth being annoying and trying to 'boss your group around', many tanks at that level still arn't marking mobs and many dps are still just throwing out all the shit theyve got, nothing you can do about it if they refuse to change though
Brayfox
1. Repose Adds if no THM/BLM in group
2. Esuna...people say 'it's worthless' It's not...use it and use it often to keep tank poison/para free
3. Don't rely on 'Free Cure II' procs. If you get a free Cure proc...and should actually cast Cure II use it. Otherwise, cast Cure II when you need to cast it. Don't wait and hope for the proc.
4. Hold back on any DD spells until you know 'this group isn't retarded'
5. Stoneskin the tank (once you learn it) before every single pull. Ideally, you can time this so that you are SSing him right as the last mob is killed from the old pull. This give you a little buffer time during the next pull that the tank won't need a cure and you can be Reposing a mob or 3.
6. There are retarded groups
7. This dungeon is actually difficult for a Healer...MP issues/hate issues and inexperienced party members make this a tough place.
8. This is a 'controversial' spell...but if you need to, and can do it THIS way, use 'Fluid Aura' to push a mob that aggros YOU back TOWARDS the tank. It saves you running, binds the mob in place and makes it easier for the tank to grab. However some tanks even see you use this spell and they get pissy. Again, it's not to make the tank play ping-pong with a mob...you should only do it if you're getting beat on and only if you are angled in a way that you can push the mob TO the tank.
9. I'm going to assume your gear etc is all in order. But upgrade if it still isn't working.
Bray is a much more difficult run than the previous ones as a healer, but you should be able to handle it.
#1 though is the judicious use of repose/sleep. There is absolutely no reason why a tank should be getting whupped by 3 mobs. If people are breaking the sleeps then that's where communication comes in. If they don't know you need to sleep the mobs they may not realize that they need to focus fire the targets. Of course, there's always Kinsey's point number 6.
That being said, there are times when a sleep just aint possible. And that's when you're going to need to chain heal the tank. If your Cure I spell being cast back to back to back isn't enough to keep the tank standing against 3 enemies then there may be a gear issue. I'd recommend the malachite jewelry for extra MND stat.
Punch them in the face. As a DPS I do not enjoy when other DPS prematurely wake mobs. Also I WAS gonna joke and say glue a phoenix to your staff and no one dies ever :P but in all seriousness Braylox is bump in the smooth ride of dungeon running. Be sure to use esuna and stoneskin (what I've seen from other healers in that dungeon).

Might be an idea to find a group in Wineport or Costa Del Sol, at least then you don't get lumped with randoms, people do farm this instance for gear so finding an experienced group shouldn't be too bad
I have horrible memories of getting the the final boss and literally spamming Cure I waiting for the Cure II proc simply because I had no mana left!
In regards to sleeping, you can make a macro which says something like "Sleeping [insert mob name here]" which might help slightly. Don't ask me for the proper macro because I'd have to google it :(
Good luck with your instancing x
You can be an awesome healer but...
if you have tank with bad gear, or dps that wake mobs, or tank or dps that stand in crap and get damage when they shouldn't ...
you can't fix stupid...
I had a LOT of trouble dodging the breath as a tank. Was pretty RNG whether I could make it out before it cast, pretty much had to preemptively dodge it until I turned my graphics down. That might help if your tanks have trouble dodging.
Can't remember it exactly, but I think this is what I created

Had a run through Haukke Manor last night with tank and 1 DPS from FC and the other DPS filled from DF. The tank marked all enemies, had macros setup to party chat pulling (provoking, guarding, etc.), and I had macros for sleeping. It was a run of beauty. Extremely smooth and easy (like I would expect Haukke to be in the first place). The random DPS loved it (and actually asked about joining the FC after). I love groups like that where It Just Works as people do their role well.
If it's brayflox, might want to look at poisons/debuffs. Some of those can ruin your day if you don't use ensuna.
deleted this post for redundancy, I missed this was already mentioned.
I found that due to not having a fairy quickcast from Thermaturge route is a very important skill to have. Its a bit of a crutch, but makes healing with a Conj/WHM much easier.
Alot of tanks at that level are geared up improperly as well, like DPS armor instead of PLD/WAR armor. Or a mix of it all. Keeping up with a warrior is a bit of a pain, even on my scholar i'll give a warrior stone skin throughout the fight to pad his burst damage taken. It works really well to~ makes healing a bit less dangerous if used correctly(ie: don't waste all of your mana)
Communicate with people, dont be like "ooooh he woke the mob up.... i cant do anything about it...". Well, u can)
Party: Jyoeru: I cast sleep on non-tank targeted mobs. Please let them sleep. Thank you.
Only once has someone been a jerk about that notice. And he died a lot. Something about aggro all mobs, and I was like... if they are sleeping, who cares about aggro, fool.
If you're afraid of DPS spamming AoE or hitting a slept mob knock it back with Fluid Aura before you sleep it. That way you can clearly see who hits the mob when its 20 yalms away from the tank and can lay blame appropriately.
I healed Brayflox...first time was bad. Tank couldn't hold aggro, and lost half his health everytime something hit him.. talk about healing aggro. We even let the tank retry, like 6 times..cuz who knows maybe he was new? Since that time, it's been fine. Great tanks, some even had me bored.."can I heal yet?" lol..prolly just got lucky.
I like healing, even in bad situations cuz you learn from them. Best way to learn is to do it...and learn from every mistake u make. So..best way to heal better, is to keep healing.
Are there any reasons for Tanks to use AOEs? I have often heard this excuse used by a tank in Brayflox for waking up sleep adds, demanding that we not sleep "too slow", etc. As I don't play a tank, I don't know how they work (as far as whether any of the tank classes are AOE hate driven, etc.) I just wanted to know if this was legit or complete bs on the tank's part, because not CCing on a pull makes things much more difficult for the healer from Brayflox onward.
if /micon gives you the recast, i love you a good bit.
if /mk off works the way you suggest, i REALLY FRIGGIN LOVE YOU.
this fixes sooooo many problems PS3 players have with marking. you have no idea.
PLDs only AoE via Flash, until much higher up.
WARs on the other hand use overpower.
They can cross class Flash, but its not very effective compared to Overpower.
In short, my suggestion is to wait 2-3 overpowers, before you sleep a mob.
In most cases, Fluid Aura a mob after the 1st Overpower, this way the tank is primary threat, then sleep it.
The WAR should be mixing in a flash every so often, to lighten up their TP consumption from overpower.
But they dont need to spam it, unless DPS suck. (Which is 90% of all duty finder DPS)
I think so, on the use of tank aoe. For getting aggro, or re-getting aggro if one or more mobs starts charging at the healer from overheals or something. I've seen tanks put mobs to sleep themselves, until the evil thaum tried an aoe and woke them up and the tank had to grab aggro so they didnt eat the mage. A quick aoe can save people, but I normally have a tank who marks the mobs in kill order so the dps know what to kill first etc.,or what number needs to be sleeped. Sometimes trash mobs are fine to aoe.
If a tank isnt communicating, marking mobs..losing alot of health when he/she shouldn't be, not holding aggro (and the aggro loss not being from overheals or power hungry dps)...they're prolly new, or just bad tanks. I have seen so much bad in groups over my years of healing. You chalk it up as experience, learn from it and sometimes leave the dungeon because it just isnt gonna happen.
My strategy is to conserve MP.
I cast Cure until Freecure procs then I use freecure Cure II. It gives you a second to pause because you know cure II is going to heal more and it's free at that. If Freecure is about to run out cast cure II. It costs you nothing and it saves you the MP you'd spend otherwise on a standard cure.
Brayflox is a tank issue dungeon. They go in undergeared and I've found that a lot of Black Mages absolutely refuse to sleep targets to cut back on damage when they're in the group.
/micon does show the recast, but doesnt show if the ability is in range sadly :c
/mk off <t> does turn the mark off, but doesnt turn it back on if u have another mark under it, even with a /wait in between :c
does anybody know how to make the mark show up, after turning it off?
(my PS3 friends never mark as tanks, due to the lack of buttons, and u cant put marks on abilities, otherwise the next time u press a button, the mark turns off.)
Yes there is,
as a Warrior tank, even if Flash is added to skill list, the times they can activate it is very limited due to low MP pool
Overpower, their enmity generating AoE, usually for a few times at the start of each fights is essential to keep slept mobs from chasing the healer after enmity generated by heals during they're sleeping.
So for best result, learn / ask how many Overpower they're going to use, apply sleep afterwards.
But if the Warrior simply wake them up in the middle of a fight with Overpower... their fault.
A tip for healers who're forced or ran into situations with mobs attacking them:
It's the healer's job to run to the tank and give them a easier time pulling your mob back,
not waiting them to come over, having perhaps 3 other mobs on him ignored to get yours back.
And most importantly yet, dont run back, run in circles. It only buys more time for the mob to damage the healer, while the tank have to chase you all across the map, ignoring his mobs (while other DPS may still attacking them, increasing hate)
