Petition: SE Please Add Random Mini-Games to DoL Gathering (Anti-Bot Verification)

I'll try to keep this post as simple as possible in order to gain support against RMT teleporting bot gatherers.

LIKE THIS POST if you think FFXIV:AR needs an Anti-Bot Verification System on gathering via Random Encounter Mini-Games

Please add what kind of mini games, bonuses, and penalties you would like to see following my post so we can assess each idea.

*disclaimer: I acknowledge that this would be ineffective against gathering via killing mobs botters

Now what do I mean by random encounter? It means it would only happen maybe once every 30mins or so the gatherer would be greeted by a screen break reminiscent of old ff games on his next attempt at gathering at a node, it shouldn't be bypassable by d/cing or any other means.
Also a multiple random rotation of games would increase the difficultly of scripters finding a workaround; they needn't be complicated, even retro-like games such as space invaders, centipede should suffice, or maybe SE can use the old battle screens like :

Let's talk about rewards, how about an exp bonus equal to a leve, multiple items of whatever you were gathering, or chance of high quality items based on score? If a score is kept, maybe have a high score log like old arcade games with a weekly server champion. Ok so what happens if you fail? Maybe a 15min debuff preventing gathering?

Let's play cynic for a second: "Adding mini-games would be to much work for SE to do."

SE has already stated they are working on ffvii gold saucer-like area for FFXIV:AR, so it is assumed adding mini-games is already in the works, why not use a few to combat botting?

The game's economy is the lifeblood of the game, botters flooding the AH are in the early stages of ruining the economy. Addressing the problem before it gets outta hand is pretty dang important.

Sorry, but mini-games to gathering won't stop bots. Ever. They tried this in the past, both with 1.0 and FFXI, and it failed miserably in both instances. Succeeding only in frustrating the loyal customers from taking up their pickaxes or sickles, and straining the economy severely due to lack of interest and participation. Further surrendering the state of cash flow to the RMT and other such abusers.

Yes to "Anti-Bot Verification System"
No to "Random Encounter Mini-Games"

Any kind of "respond" game can be botted. Heck, they had bots for crafting in eq2 when you had to respond to random events. That was a long time ago, I'm sure they would code a fix quite easy. They are botting instances now, if they can map out instances and tank via a bot, a mini game is just a speed bump that slows regular gamers down.

I enjoyed the 1.0 system for gathering better. Just clicking a button a few times per node gets old. The old system actually required some effort. The crafting system is excellent though. I wish the gathering system was even half as complex and fleshed out as the crafting.

I don't know. That same old hot-and-cold game is fun the first couple of times, but the 10,000th time...no thanks.

FFXI put a singular, very rudimentary "game" into fishing and made it necessary to play it with every cast, very easy to script indeed. However your telling me a script can play bejeweled, a virtual visual captcha, on top of other games designed to be anti-bot? Really?

I think you underestimate how advanced bots are. A bot can look at your screen and know exactly what is going on (image recognition), there are a finite amount of possible images that can be displayed when harvesting/fishing/crafting so it's childs play for a bot to work around any visual (or text and visual) based system. All they do is add to the frustration of non-botters who are getting penalised over it.

For example, FFXI, the original fishing was /fish /wait 14 /mined for fish, people got to cap fishing by pushing Alt+1, now you have to watch the rod and push the rod in the opposite direction to the way it is currently going, get the fish down to 0% stamina, oh, and it's frame capped at 30 so sluggish as possible, fishing isn't enjoyable unless you enjoy stress.

Yes. Every single mini-game that SE can possibly implement will likely be successfully botted within a couple of days at most. This sort of thing would only add annoyance for legitimate players, and not deter any botters.
